(Kayos) Duff McKagan's Loaded's new album, The Taking, will be released on vinyl on April 12th and on CD on April 19th.

Recorded by Terry Date (Soundgarden, Avenged Sevenfold), the album follows the band's 2009 debut Sick. A feature-length film, The Taking (in the style of A Hard Day's Night crossed with The Song Remains The Same), is due this summer.

"This record really sort of took a life of its' own, and the songs really revealed themselves to us as we went along," says Duff. "Terry Date came into the picture at a time when his genius ear helped to capture a sonic theme for the record. You can't underestimate what a guy like TD brings to the table. The Taking is the closest thing to a 'concept' record that I have ever been involved with. Pain, loss, triumph, and redemption. Life. Bring it."

Best Fans Drive For Beatles Honor
(Gibson) When Pete Best was unceremoniously dropped by The Beatles in 1962, just as the band were about to hit unseen heights of superstardom, fans from around Liverpool rallied to support him. They picketed Beatles shows with signs and loudly voiced their displeasure. Now, nearly 50 years later, Pete Best fans are again showing their support for the easygoing drummer. Over 10,000 fans have signed a petition to have a street in Liverpool named after Best. The campaign has garnered support from fans around the world.

Among those who have made their show of support public is Best's brother, Roag, who told the Liverpool Echo, "The formative years of The Beatles were very much Pete's years and, without these years, The Beatles would not have gone on to be the world icons they became."

Roag, who is the son of Beatles road manager Neil Aspinall, continued, "He did over 1,000 shows with them, which means he did more with them than Ringo Starr did in six years. In Hamburg, especially, they were doing eight or nine-hour sessions, so apart from playing more shows, he outstripped Ringo in hours played, as well." more on this story

Love Hope Strength Leads To Children's Cancer Center
Love Hope Strength Foundation turns musical treks and extreme concerts into Tanzania's First Cancer Center Dedicated to Children.

When the Love Hope Strength Foundation (LHS) was created in 2007, its founders envisioned using the power of music to help people from all walks of life gain access to cancer screening, treatment and support that first world citizens enjoy in places such as the United States and the U.K. With the opening of the first-of-its-kind cancer complex dedicated to children in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, that vision is taking hold in a region where cancer is not at the forefront of most minds.

On Tuesday, February 8, 2011 Mike Peters, LHS co-founder and front man for popular Welsh band, The Alarm, will join representatives of The Tanzanian Ministry of Health, Ocean Road Cancer Institute, the Muhimbili National Hospital and The Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) as well as local and international supporters and children stricken with cancer, to cut the ribbon on Tanzania's first ever cancer wards devoted entirely to children.

SuidAkra Video Premiere
Metal Injection set over word that they are presenting the exclusive world premiere of the brand new video from SuidAkra.

Frontman Arkadius Antonik recently spoke with Metal Injection who discussed the album and video. Here is an excerpt: The Book of Dowth deals with the darker elements of celtic folklore-how is this going to be implemented into your music?

We created the story concept roughly before we started to write the songs, which meant we knew in which direction we should go in every single song. This time there were a lot of different atmospheres to create. For us it was like writing a movie soundtrack. On "Crσgacht" it was the first time we've started to write songs in that kind of way. This time we had much more experience, which made the songwriting easier for us.

The video is for the track "Dowth 2059" and can be streamed at Metal Injection right here
