(Gibson) It's been a long time since they rock and rolled (well, just since 2007, really), but Led Zeppelin might be reuniting. Frontman Robert Plant, currently on tour with his Band of Joy project, hinted about the possibility. "I think we're probably thinking about talking," he told The Onion's A.V. Club.Plant, who's been performing some Zeppelin tunes along with spirituals and cover songs while on tour with guitarist Buddy Miller and company, said that he still feels the need to sing his former band's songs. "I think everybody feels the same, really," he said. "It's not even a talking point. I don't know how many times Stephen Stills has been asked about whether or not he wants to go back to Buffalo Springfield. Maybe he and Neil [Young] got out in time before it actually had the same kind of effect
I've still got a twinkle in me."

(Gibson) Dave Mustaine (of Megadeth), Scott Ian (of Anthrax) and Kerry King (of Slayer) recently did a joint interview with Spin to talk about the Jagermeister Music Tour, which features all three of their bands. When asked who puts on the best live show, Mustaine was quick to answer. "The best live show that I've ever seen is Slayer," he said. "Their energy is just over the top. We try to play our best. But, as far as the energy and stuff, I've never seen anybody do what Kerry and Slayer can do." Guitarist/vocalist King deferred the compliment and focused on what made each thrash metal band great. "We're all totally different animals," King said. "I call Megadeth nerd metal not detrimentally, but they're guitar geeks. They blow away the guitar geeks. They're very good at what they do. And then you have guitar geeks come look at us, and they're like, 'Yeah, it's kind of heavy.' But the intricacies of the leads and stuff? C'mon, that's Megadeth's specialty. We're just angry and throwing and spitting aggression. All four bands [including Metallica] started from one place and evolved into a four-headed monster. There's four very different things happening." All three guys seemed to agree that they'd like to do a Big Four tour (with Metallica) on their home turf. "America deserves it," Ian said. "We played seven shows in Europe and you've got four American bands. We have to play in the United States."

To celebrate the release of Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band's LIVE! In Chicago, Roadrunner Records is offering a special edition of the album that includes Kenny's cover of the Jimi Hendrix classic "Voodoo Child." Originally recorded in 1968, "Voodoo Child" has gotten superstar treatment by legends Buddy Guy, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton and now, Kenny Wayne Shepherd. "[Voodoo Child] is pretty much the guitar anthem of all time. From that amazing opening riff to the way he breaks it down in the middle and gets funky, the whole thing is incredible. There are things Jimi did on the guitar that humans just can't do. You can try all day, even if you're playing the right notes, it's not the same. It definitely seems as if he was coming from a higher place when he played." Kenny Wayne Shepherd

(Rock Radio) The Who's frontman Roger Daltrey worries that new technology means younger generations aren't taking time to stop and think meaning they'll be too easily controlled by the powers that be.He fears the angry sentiments of classic track My Generation might not be echoed by future kids, because they're too busy interacting with the virtual world to think about the real world around them. "I'm not a luddite, but what makes me nervous about it all is what it's doing to humans. There are huge psychological issues which will only become apparent in the next 20 years," Daltrey said in a fan Q&A. "Young people don't contemplate any more. Everything happens so fast the time for contemplation has disappeared. It could become very easy to control the whole world. And if people don't contemplate, where to epiphanies come from? It gets out of balance."

Welcome to Singled Out! where we ask artists to tell us the inside story of their latest single. Today The Sleeping's frontman Douglas Robinson tells us about "Young Vibes... Don't Run Away From Me" from their brand new album "Big Deep," which was released this week. We now turn it over to Douglas for the story: The first single off of our new record is called "Young Vibes... Don't Run Away From Me" and it's basically the realization point that we are all inevitably getting older. I've always been inspired by the topic of growing up and I don't mean that in a completely positive way. We all know getting older is a scary thing and in the lyrics to this song I touch on that, heavily. It's a song about not wanting to let go of your childhood and all of the memories of innocence. Musically, this was one of the first songs we had written when we began the whole writing/recording process. Paul had this really cool riff out of a jam session that had a bit of a Michael Jackson vibe to it. Very clean and fast with a dance like energy. We played off of that and finished it within a few days. Maybe even a couple of days. It was actually one of the songs I remember having trouble with, melody wise. I remember singing early ideas of the melodies that are on the track now and everyone being a little unsure. I tried a million different choruses and whatever else I could think of to make it come alive... but I had nothing. The funny thing is in the end... I went right back to the first idea I had and now the song is our first single, haha. I just felt it and tried everything I possibly could until I realized.. "Hey, I loved the original s*** I was doing... let's just stick with that and make it the best." Now lyrically.... Right before I moved to LA (from NY) I had met up with a ton of my childhood friends and as amazing as that was, it was also a pretty scary turning point in my life. We all talked about what we do now and how great the old times were but there was something missing in everyone's' eyes and I could see right through them. It was very depressing. Even though we (most of us) do what we love every single day... there is still a longing for innocence and I can tell everyone felt like that when we all got together in one room. Some people couldn't stay too long because of their new families at home and it really made things hit a lot harder. So we drank and talked and drank some more and we all knew that after that night we, most likely, wouldn't be seeing each other for a long time. Anyway, I moved and experienced truly getting away for a while until I came to the conclusion that I needed to move back to NY. There were a mixed number of reasons for this but one of the main ones was the fact that, I don't want to keep floating away from my friends. Yeah, I needed that time to myself but a lot can happen when you disappear for a while. Blend that with all of my confusing thoughts on getting older and a flight back to NY seemed pretty necessary to me. I returned to NY and went through all of the thoughts on the subject that I had put to paper... and then "Young Vibes..." was formed. Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself as you check out the video and learn more about the album, grab tour dates and more

Stew & The Negro Problem have announced their first national tour in six years following Stew And Heidi Rodewald's Tony-Winning Broadway show Passing Strange.First there was the Negro Problem, a band that rose through the ranks of L.A.'s indie scene in the late '90s and early aughts. Deemed "L.A.'s best band" by the L.A. Weekly in 1992, the unit propelled by Stew and Heidi Rodewald recorded three critically acclaimed albums: Post Minstrel Syndrome (1997), Joys & Concerns (1999) and 2002's Welcome Back. The New York Times cited the last as "perhaps the finest collection of songs an American songwriter has come up with this year." When Stew and Heidi began work on Passing Strange, the theater production that went on to become both a Spike Lee-directed movie and Tony Award winner for "Best Book of a Musical," The Negro Problem was put on hold. This past year, however, the band returned to sell out six nights at St Ann's Warehouse in Brooklyn, performing primarily new material. The inspiration was born to record a new album (in the can) and take the band on the road once again.
