Testament Expand World Tour Plans
PR reports: Bay Area Thrash Legends Testament announce a UK tour, hot off the heels of their support stint with Judas Priest and exclusive show in London where the band played their first two albums in their entirety.

Guitarists Alex Skolnik and Eric Peterson are looking forward to the band's return. Says Alex: "It was so nice to hear that we have a whole week of July dates in the UK, one of our favourite places with some of the best fans. In earlier years, with the exception of London, we somehow never had the opportunity to do proper tours of the region. Now, it feels we're experiencing a rebirth there and it's good to be able to make up for lost time. Looking forward to a week of great shows in the UK with good friends, witty humor and lots of curries, ales and pasties."

"Better late than never!" adds Eric Peterson. "It's taken us twenty years to finally do extensive touring in the UK. We've always asked to play more cities other than just playing London when we come through to Europe. London has always been one of our favorite cities in the world to play, and the English crowd rules! Long live England! Long live Testament!"

August Burns Red Again This July
PR reports: August Burns Red, the Lancaster, PA-based metal quintet who scratched and clawed their way to the top of the heap in 2008, are preparing to drop the much-anticipated third full-length, Constellations, via Solid State Records on July 14, 2009.

After a month in the studio with lauded producer Jason Suecof (Sevendust, All That Remains, God Forbid, Trivium), ABR emerged in late March with a blistering album that will make good on the promise of 2007's Messengers – an album that, devoid of hype, without any smoke and mirrors, ever-so-quietly sold more than 80,000 copies, as much or more than most of the band's much-hyped contemporaries.

August Burns Red spent the subsequent year conquering fans at Warped Tour, on the Take Action tour and at destinations from Dubai to Dallas, and increased their profile through placement on the movie trailer for "The Spirit." Meanwhile, fans drove August Burns Red's MySpace plays well past the 17 million mark, packed the band's fall 2008 headlining tour – which included sold-out venues across the country – and flocked to the band's in-studio Stickam site by the tens of thousands to observe the band recording the eagerly awaited new album. Fans' demand for new material also drove the release of a B-sides EP, Lost Messengers: The Outtakes, this past February. - more on this story

Ice Palace Wrap Recording And Hit The Road
PR reports: Minneapolis-based band Ice Palace have wrapped recording of their sophomore album, Wonder Subtly Crushing Us, and have announced dates with Cloud Cult and Say Hi to support.

Wonder Subtly Crushing Us follows Ice Palace's acclaimed 2007 debut album, Bright Leaf Left. The new album is the next phase in the ongoing development of the band's lead singer and songwriter, Adam Sorensen, and the culmination of roughly 20 years of writing and creativity. After assembling some of the best talent in Minneapolis, in some of the most unexpected recording spaces (from Minneapolis' Sound Gallery studio to a bedroom closet), the album was handed to Craig Minowa of Cloud Cult and his Earthology Studio for final mixing and production.

Fifteen years ago, Sorensen and Minowa spent a night of mutual respect writing and recording a song together on a four-track. After years of separate endeavors, the two have re-aligned on this album. - more on this story

Empire of the Sun Get Innovative and Interactive With The People
Virgin reports: Virgin Records UK launches a pioneering new digital music video for Australian band Empire of the Sun, to promote the launch of their second single 'We Are The People'. This interactive video represents a digital first for the music industry, incorporating tracking pixels working as touch points or hot spots to guide users to free downloads, bespoke film content and an exclusive competition.

The video technology is created by Product Magnet, the sister group of Mavericks Film, and the campaign launched on 27 April. The official single release is 1st June.

In the music video, the various touch points are made visible by shining orbs. In addition to these clearly visible hot spots there are a further four hidden touch points, that only become active once the cursor moves across the video. These four give the fan part of a code, which once collated can be inserted into the final visible touch point, allowing users to be entered into a competition for a piece of framed, limited edition Empire of the Sun artwork.

The video contains links to free downloads, exclusive remixes, a message from the band, competitions (for artwork and an ipod) and much more.
