Metallica Fan's Home Raided By Piracy Cops
Blabbermouth reports: According to Jacqui Cheng of Ars Technica, file-hosting service RapidShare has reportedly handed over to the record industry the IP data of the user who had uploaded a copy of Metallica's new album "Death Magnetic" to his RapidShare account a day before its worldwide release.

The issue came to light after the user claimed that his house was raided by law enforcement thanks to RapidShare, as reported by German-language news outlet Gulli.

Metallica's label supposedly asked RapidShare for the user's IP address, and then asked Deutsche Telekom to identify the user behind the IP before sending law enforcement his way. - more on this story

Creed Reunite, Plan Tour and Album
FMQB reports: The heavily rumored Creed reunion has been officially confirmed, as all four original members are back together for a summer tour and new album.

Singer Scott Stapp, guitarist Mark Tremonti, drummer Scott Phillips and bassist Brian Marshall will hit the road starting August 6 in Pittsburgh and tour until October 14 in Nashville.

The reconciliation reportedly began last December when Stapp reached out to Tremonti and the two decided to patch things up. They soon met up with Phillips and Marshall (who left Creed in 2000), and everyone got on the same page. - a lot more on this story

Corgan Cashing In On Pumpkins Fans
MusicRadar reports: Billy Corgan apparently knows the way to win back the hearts of Smashing Pumpkins fans: charge them.

In a bizarre marketing move, the now lone Pumpkin has launched a new video blog that will document the process of recording the next Smashing Pumpkins record (and, we would assume, the auditioning of potential new band members).

But here's the catch: Corgan is charging $40 for access to the blog (for only 12 weeks of access!), with the promise of five updates a week. Each clip is said to last five minutes in length. - more on this story

Good Charlotte Vs Airline
Jam! reports: Good Charlotte star Joel Madden has hit out at airline workers after he was banned from boarding a plane until he covered up his tattoos.

The rocker was preparing to fly from Chicago, Illinois' O'Hare International Airport to London to film a new music video when British Airways officials ordered him to hide the body art on his arms.

And he was left stunned when they told him he could not board the jet unless he complied with their regulations. - more on this story

Slash Gives More Solo Details
Blabbermouth reports: Velvet Revolver and ex-Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash has posted an update on the recording process for his new solo album, which he is tracking with former Nine Inch Nails drummer Josh Freese and ex-Jane's Addiction bassist Chris Chaney. Confirmed guest singers so far include Ozzy Osbourne and Avenged Sevenfold's M. Shadows.

Slash writes on his MySpace page: "...hard at work in the studio. We are six tracks into it and it sounds really great — great playing and super killer tones, not to mention stellar vocals so far. I'm still not at liberty to publicly divulge any singers' names, but trust me, they're amazing. I know a lot of you out there know who at least some of them are. I will however, give you working titles for a couple songs: 'We're All Gonna Die' is one, 'These Last Words' is another. There is one song called 'Crucify The Dead' and another called 'Beautiful, Dangerous'. We have about eight songs left to record and I'm really excited about every one.

"On the Velvet Revolver front, not a whole lot news to report singer-wise, which is a drag. But this is one of those situations where just when you're ready to give up, something great happens. So, we're hanging in there until then, no matter what." - more on this story

Hip Hop Is Dead
MusicRadar reports: Last Thursday saw an in-store signing session with rapper Rick Ross at Best Buy in New York. That's nothing new, they do a meet and greet most weeks, except Rick's should be filed under 'this is just embarrassing'…

The sight of an empty queue system is pretty sad, especially as people have a tendency to join a queue even if they have no idea what's at the other end (or is that just in England?).

Get Up Stand Up's picture timeline might say more about failing music shops than the popularity of Rick Ross, but still… ouch. - check out the photos here
