Filter reports: Garbage is not a band afraid
to fail. In the midst of their Absolute Garbage collection being released,
the band is looking to record new material in 2008.
However, don't expect the same old formula

have come to expect, Garbage plans to introduce a more simplistic and organic
sound.

PR reports: Silverchair has postponed four
shows on their current U.S. Tour to allow singer, Daniel Johns to recover
fully from a case of laryngitis. Daniel caught the common viral infection
of the throat earlier this week after flying Sydney/Los Angeles/Toronto/New
York/Los Angeles over just four days. It severely impeded his vocal performance
on the "Tonight Show With Jay Leno" on Tuesday.
While his Doctor had initially been hopeful
that Daniel's laryngitis would clear up "in a day or two", he has since
advised that the Silverchair frontman should "avoid singing for 4 to 6
days" in order to be guaranteed of making a full recovery. The Doctor also
advised that singing during this time could risk permanent damage to Daniel's
voice so the band has no choice but to reschedule these four important
shows and to sincerely apologize to those who will be inconvenienced by
this change of plans.
The San Diego, Anaheim, Los Angeles and
San Francisco gigs will now take place in mid-November at the same venues.

TuneLab reports: SoundExchange executive director
Jon Simson yesterday testified before Congress that SoundExchange will
not enforce the new royalty rates for Internet radio stations.
Webcasters will stay online while new rates
are being negotiated. Otherwise, most small webcasters would have had to
shut down this coming Monday. [so you won't be stuck with only being able
to listen to crappy corporate Top 40 radio for now, go look at the Billboard
charts to see just how crappy it is and be thankful for net radio!]-

BW&BK reports: Exactly one year after
breaking ground on the world's first rock 'n' roll theme park, Hard Rock
Park celebrates another milestone today, with the official topping ceremony
for the Park's most anticipated attraction, LED ZEPPELIN - The Ride. The
topping ceremony, which marks the completion of the highest lift hill for
the signature roller coaster, kicks the Park into "construction overdrive."
Easily viewed as far away as the three
highway bridges that surround the Park, Led Zeppelin - The Ride will tower
more than 150 feet into the sky (15 stories tall), serving as a landmark
that will help travelers pinpoint Hard Rock Park whether arriving by air
or land.
The ride is most notable for the iconic
relationship with band members Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones,
who have contributed to all aspects of Led Zeppelin - The Ride, including
the ride's name [they thought real hard on that one], logo and overall
look and feel of the vehicles.- more

PR reports: Do you miss The OC? You remember
the silly teen soap supposedly set in Orange County but filmed in LA? (also
note that no one from Orange County would call it "The" OC, only McDorks
from LA do that.) That aside, one of the show's favorite bands has a new
CD coming out. Which band? Come on, think about it and you'll know. Hint,
they use a California flag.
What you didn't watch the show? Not many
did at the end, but that doesn't take away from the band Rooney who are
about to drop their new CD, "Calling the World" on Tuesday. (you knew the
band name from the headline)
Can't wait until them? You are in luck
as the band is giving fans a preview of the ENTIRE new CD on their Myspace
page. Wanna see if it's worth picking up on Tuesday? -
