Three Days Grace and Breaking Benjamin Plot Fall Tour
DiR reports: Jive informs us "After a sold out arena tour this past Spring, Jive Records recording artist Three Days Grace announce their North American Fall tour with Breaking Benjamin and special guest Seether. The tour starts September 8 in Hutchinson, KS and runs through mid-November."

Hopefully this will give Breaking Benjamin's frontman time to recover before hitting the road. We did get two press releases about this tour from both camps. Jive didn't mention above that this is a co-headlining tour, though BB's PR was kind enough to do so and even called TDG BB's partner in the outing.

They also had some conflicting dates, so we won't print either here but there is plenty of time to work that out before the tour kicks off. Finally of additional note: the Sept 21, 22nd dates will also include Live and Collective Soul according to Breaking Benjamin's PR. - do not click here

The Red Chord CD and Tours
PR reports: You have to love the excitement of a good press release. They are almost as good as those TV commercials advertising upcoming Monster Truck shows. Anyway, the excitement in the following PR is called for according to our very own Mike Rapin, who gave this album a near perfect score. (see this week's reviews for that one). Here is the PR: New England’s own death-grind powerhouse The Red Chord delivers a brutal new record!!! The album, titled Prey For Eyes, was recorded at New Jersey’s Trax East with producer Eric Rachel (Atreyu, Every Time I Die). The Red Chord is preparing for a tour with Between the Buried and Me, Cephalic Carnage, and The End in July and August to support the release of their new record.

The Red Chord also have a featured spot on the Metal Blade Records 25th Anniversary Tour!! The tour marks The Red Chord’s first full US tour in support of their upcoming release, Prey for Eyes, out July 24th. - you know you want those dates

Former Tonic Frontman Delivers Solo CD this Week
PR reports: Singer/songwriter Emerson Hart digs deep into past, often painful, emotions and memories for inspiration on his introspective solo debut, Cigarettes And Gasoline, to be released July 17 on Manhattan Records. The 12-track CD, which Hart began conceiving in 2005 after moving to Nashville, showcases his penchant for writing thoughtful, memorable songs about life, love and loss, wrapped in some of the most irresistible pop-rock melodies you’ll hear this year.

Hart also enlisted the production talents of Bob Rock (Metallica, Bon Jovi), Jason Lehning (Guster, Steve Forbert) and Mike Napolitano (Squirrel Nut Zippers, Joseph Arthur) for the recording sessions in Nashville and New Orleans.

Standout tracks include the propulsive opening track “Run To,” the reflective, exhilarating “I Wish the Best For You,” the rousing first single “If You’re Gonna Leave,” the harmonious, guitar-driven “Ordinary,” the transporting “Flyin’,” and the title track, “Cigarettes and Gasoline,” which is drawn from childhood memories, and touches on the difficult topic of Hart’s father’s still-unresolved murder when he was a boy growing up in New Jersey. “I obsessively write every day,” comments Hart. “Writing is my therapy, that’s how I exist.”- Grab a preview of the CD right here

Make Your Music Really Stink!
PR reports: Part of a generic emo group or better yet are you in a crappy mallcore band hoping to land a deal with Roadrunner? Want to really stand out from the crowd? You know your music stinks and now you can make the physical cd is comes on stink too! Tis true, you can now sound and SMELL like crap according to the following press release we received:

CDDVD Now! offers “scented inks” for CD & DVD printed surface artwork, allowing music, video, marketing and advertising professionals the ability to take their upcoming disc marketing projects to the next level. “Integrating scent into a CD or DVD increases consumer awareness of a particular product and stimulates purchase activity, attraction and retention by incorporating “smell” into the marketing piece,” says Phil Peretz, President and Founder of CDDVD Now!. “Rub 'n' Smell disc printing increases the impact, recall, value, and effectiveness of any marketing effort”.

The scented varnish is transparent and remains dormant until the printed surface is rubbed and it actually lasts for years in printed form. The smell dissipates after a few seconds but can be re-activated by rubbing the surface again (similar to a “scratch n sniff” sticker). - Feel the stink here!
