Blabbermouth reports: Somebody better check
Gov. Huntsman's iPod. When New York quintet DREAM THEATER took the stage
at the Ford Theater Monday night in the E Center, it did so on its very
own day, as designated by the governor.
Playing inside the Beehive State for the
first time since 2000, the group invaded the stage after a video montage
that introduced more than 20 years of the band's history with both images
and music.
Vocalist James LaBrie announced to the
crowd that the band's meeting with Huntsman led to the designation of "DREAM
THEATER day in Utah." He credited the governor with a fair knowledge of
the type of music the band plays and assured the crowd that there wouldn't
be such a long pause between visits to Utah.- more

Filter reports: Yeah Yeah Yeahs have extended
their current summer tour with a pair of California shows in late August.
Tickets for the shows will go on-sale on August 4th via Ticketmaster.
Prior to those shows the band will travel
the country making appearances at three festivals: Lollapalooza, V Fest
and Download Fest. The New York-based trio is currently out on the road
supporting the recently released Is Is EP, which is comprised of songs
written in 2004.

PR reports: [a follow up to last week's story,
here is the official word] Ministry's Al Jourgensen has been confirmed
to special guest with Cheap Trick when they perform The Beatles' "Sgt.
Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" from start to finish in celebration of
the 40th anniversary of the landmark album. Jourgensen will join Cheap
Trick onstage in Los Angeles at the Hollywood Bowl on August 10 and 11
to perform the Beatles' "I Want You (She's So Heavy)," considered to be
one of the most complex songs ever recorded by the Fab Four.
At the specific request of Cheap Trick's
Rick Nielson and Robin Zander, the Ministry guitarist/vocalist has re-arranged
the song and made it "bent, in the Al Jourgensen way." Ministry/RevCo guitarist
Sin Quirin will join Jourgensen and Cheap Trick onstage for the performance.
"'Sgt. Pepper's' is certainly one of the
greatest pieces of art ever created, so to be asked to participate in this
momentous occasion is a great honor," commented Jourgensen.-

PR reports: SCORPIONS, Germany's most successful
international music export, are poised to "sting" once again and are planning
a frontal attack on the musical artery of rock fans all over the globe
with their new album, HUMANITY - HOUR 1. Thirty five years after the release
of their debut album, LONESOME CROW, SCORPIONS believe they have reached
a new creative high in their impressive career. They plan to prove it with
the release of album #21 on August 28 (New Door Records/UMe).
Smashing Pumpkins singer/guitarist Billy
Corgan makes a special appearance on the album as a featured guest on "The
Cross."
The band--Klaus Meine (vocals), Rudolf
Schenker (rhythm guitars), Matthias Jabs (lead guitars), James Kottak (drums)
and Pawel Maciwoda (bass)-enlisted acclaimed songwriter/producer Desmond
Child (Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, KISS) and producer James Michael to work behind
the boards on the album, which was recorded at several Los Angeles studios.
"Desmond is a fabulous visionary who took us to musical levels we had never

PR reports: The upcoming weeks of The Henry
Rollins Show on IFC will showcase musicians from around the world beginning
August 10 with transglobal Gypsy punk rockers Gogol Bordello, followed

classical avant-garde chamber music ensemble Zeitkratzer are to release
a live CD/DVD entitled "Lou Reed: Metal Machine Music - Performed by Zeitkratzer
Live". The CD/DVD will be released by Asphodel Records in the UK on Monday
3rd September and in North America on Tuesday 4th September.
Avant-Garde German saxophone player, Ulrich
Krieger, transcribed Lou Reed's original 1975 studio album Metal Machine
Music to create an acoustic music score for the ensemble to play live.
Zeitkratzer premiered Metal Machine Music 'Live' at MaerMusic Haus Der
Berliner, Festspiele, March 17, 2002. Lou Reed plays guitar on on track
3. The DVD includes the entire concert mixed in 5.1 Surround and includes

annual eco-responsible music and arts festival in Atlanta, Georgia this
October 12 14, 2007. The three-day, multi-stage camping festival will
