Sharon Osbourne Vs Vince Neil
Sharon Osbourne has a few choice words for Vince Neil after learning that he trashed her in his new biography by calling her "the most evil and sh*ttiest woman I've ever met in my life".

"I was saddened to hear about the quote from Vince Neil's book. Vince, of course I tried to keep my husband away from you at all costs. I truly felt you were a danger to Ozzy, yourself and everyone around you," Sharon says in a statement according to Rock Radio. "I didn't want him to end up like Razzle, who died in a car accident because you were driving drunk; or like those two innocent people whose lives were ruined as a result of your actions.

"Today I see you as a pathetic 50-year-old party boy who continues to put innocent people's lives at risk by getting behind the wheel and driving drunk, and being arrested for assaulting women. Enough said."

Rock Radio points out that the tour in question ended 9 months before Neil killed Razzle in the drunk driving accident. Read more - here

Dream Theater's James Labrie Offering Free Song From New Solo Album
Dream Theater's James Labrie is giving away a free MP3 of a track from his new album Static Impulse.

The track is called "Mislead" and you'll have to do a little work to grab it. According to the announcement: All you have to do is spread the word via Facebook or Twitter and the song is yours! Details here The album comes out on September 27th in the UK/EU and September 28th in North America.

Labrie states: "The track 'Mislead' was a sleeping giant for Matt Guillory (keyboards) and I. Most of the parts came quickly, but seemed to be missing the key elements or ingredients that would keep you in its grip the entire ride. We kept playing with the interaction of the instruments and vocal melodies. Matt kept working his magic with the interplay of the keys, bass, guitar and drums. It wasn't until I was almost ready to lay my vocals that Matt and I felt it had all that it needed, but we wouldn't see the proof in the pudding until after both mine and Peter's vocals were laid. - more on this story

Sex Pistols Pretty Vacant For TV Ad
(Gibson) Although pop songs are common in TV advertising, the music of the Sex Pistols has yet to be featured in a commercial … until now. Spinner.com reports that the music of the U.K.'s most infamous punk band will accompany a British ad for this season's European Champions League (courtesy of bookmakers William Hill).

So which song was licensed for the spot? The Top 10 1977 British single "Pretty Vacant," from the Pistols' landmark album, Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols.

While this will be the first Sex Pistols song to be used in this fashion, it's not the first time the voice of frontman John Lydon (Johnny Rotten) will be heard on a commercial. In 2008, Lydon contributed to a campaign for Country Life butter. Although he took heat for being a "sell-out" at the time, he has since claimed that they money from that campaign helped finance the recent tour for his other band, Public Image Ltd. - more on this story

Testament Begin Work On New Album
Testament are back from the American Carnage tour with Slayer and Megadeth and are ready to begin writing and recording their follow up to The Formation of Damnation.

"The American Carnage tour was great for us, but now is the time for us to hold off on performing and go full steam ahead on getting the record finished," says vocalist Chuck Billy. "We currently have studio time booked at the end of this year, and we're shooting for a mid-2011 release. The new album will most likely be a culmination of The Gathering and The Formation of Damnation, but we're definitely not going to forget who we are or our roots. I think we've found a comfortable spot in our writing style."

"I think the tour went really well for us. It's the first time we had a stage set to our live performance, which was a lot of fun, and it brought the band to a whole new level in regards to performing. Playing with Megadeth and Slayer again was a lot of fun," adds guitarist Eric Peterson. "We're going to be home during the fall and winter working on new material. As we speak, I'm working on new music, and we're shooting to record by the end of the year. That's our plan, but we're not going to just put out a record to put out a record. We have standards, and we're picky as to what exactly we want to put out."

My Morning Jacket Plan New Album and Full Album Shows
(Gibson) Next month My Morning Jacket have a five-night New York City residency planned, during which they will perform each of their studio albums in their entirety – one a night. Guitarist Carl Broemel told Spin.com that it won't be an easy undertaking. "I'm really looking forward to it, even though it is kind of a daunting project," he said. "We have a huge list of songs we need to work on. The actual albums themselves will be the easy part. Super old EP stuff or covers we haven't played in years – that's where the real work is involved. We're going to get together for a few days and make our master plan for those nights."

The Kentucky-based band begin their stint at Terminal 5 on October 18, when they will perform The Tennessee Fire. Then there's At Dawn on October 19, It Still Moves on October 21, Z on October 22 and Evil Urges on October 23. Broemel said the first show will be the trickiest. "The first night will be the hardest, as far as getting songs together that we've never played before, but I think we've pretty much played everything once," he said.

The guitarist also said that MMJ will convene for a month before the end of 2010 to finish work on their sixth studio album, likely due in 2011. - more on this story

Lupe Fiasco Takes on Joy Division
(Gibson) Rapper Lupe Fiasco has a new band, and he says they are a tribute to rock legends Joy Division. Taking a page out of pal Kanye West's playbook, Fiasco has chosen to sing (not rap) with the post-punk group, named Japanese Cartoon. However, the Chicago MC takes it one step further, using a fake British accent on the band's debut album.

"The true inspiration for Japanese Cartoon is the band Joy Division," Fiasco told Complex.com. "You ever watch footage of Joy Division singing? Ian Curtis is like a straight nerd. And he [doesn't look] like the rock and roll type. But when he got on stage, he became a completely different animal, like he was having a seizure on stage."

Japanese Cartoon's album, In the Jaws of the Lords of Death, is available as a free download on AllSabotage.com. There's no word yet if the band's next album will be a tribute to New Order. -
