A half-hour special sneak peak of Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It will premiere Memorial Day, Monday, May 31st at 10PM ET/PT on Vh1. The series Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It is tentatively scheduled to premiere in Fall 2010.

Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It, will give viewers an insider's look at Bret's home life when he isn't touring, shooting, partying and rocking out. After the lights have dimmed on stage and the music stops for the night, Bret rolls off the tour bus right into the loving arms of his daughters Raine and Jorja, who affectionately refer to him as "Poppa Rocka."

"After Bret's recent appendectomy and life threatening brain hemorrhage, we're so happy that he is on the road to recovery and coming back to VH1 in Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It." said Jeff Olde, Executive Vice President of Original Programming and Production "Bret is family to us and has always been a huge hit on the network, headlining several series and specials that have garnered record breaking ratings and made a strong connection with our audience. We have temporarily halted production on the series with Bret's health as our primary concern. Production will resume when it is cleared by his doctors. If anyone can fight off illness and get back on his feet, it's Bret. Led Zeppelin Experience Tour Details
Jason Bonham confirmed late last month that he was planning a special tribute tour to his father with a tour. While the dates have not yet been announced we were sent this announcement on Monday with more details: Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience will celebrate the life and music of his father - the legendary Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham - in true epic fashion with a limited engagement of 30 concert dates in North America this fall. "This is a personal trip through my life with the music of Led Zeppelin," explains Jason, "and how the music influenced me."

Jason played with Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones at Led Zeppelin's "final" show at London's O2 Arena in 2007, which was heralded as the most powerful Led Zeppelin performance since the group's disbandment. The band received uniformly rave reviews and Jason didn't want to stop after that magical and memorable night.

"When I was offered to put this together over a year ago, it wasn't right," notes Jason. "This September 25th is the 30th anniversary of my father's passing - I thought, what better way to celebrate his life than to do 30 shows for the 30 years he's been gone?" - more on this story

Metallica and KISS Members To Be Guitar Hero 6 Characters
Did the Kurt Cobain fiasco spell the end to playable characters in one of the most popular music based games? Perhaps. 1Up.com reports that playable characters will be a thing of the past in the upcoming Guitar Hero 6. But that doesn't mean that the game won't include rock stars. They report that Gene Simmons and Metallica's Lar Ulrich will be included in the new Guitar Hero.

1up.com reports: Simmons will narrate a brand new Quest Mode, where players will "recruit" other rock stars and unlock their "song sets" along the way. You can also unlock the musician's "alter ego" (such as Lars becoming "Warrior Lars") which give you bonus powers.

Queen, Black Sabbath and KISS are confirmed to have songs in the game which could be ready for release this holiday season . - more on this story

Label Didn't Want Rolling Stones Exile on Main Street
(Rock Radio) The Rolling Stones' record label didn't want to release Exile on Main Street when the band recorded the album in 1972, guitarist Keith Richards has revealed. Re-released in deluxe format, it's now regarded as a high point in their career. But the Stones had to battle to preserve its double-disc format when they presented it to label bosses 38 years ago.

Richards tells The Independent: "We had to fight the record company about that. We insisted it was double. It was very different: there were no hit singles. It was an album by itself."

Although early parts of the masterpiece were recorded in the UK, the majority of the work was done in the cellar of Nellcote, a French villa Richards had hired – a lucky accident which came about as a result of the Stones being hounded out of their home country. - Keef explains here

More Artists Tribute Ronnie James Dio Including Ozzy, Iron Maiden, Anthrax, Michael Anthony, Duff McKagen, Motorhead, Slayer, Slipknot and more
The tributes to Ronnie James Dio keep pouring in. The legendary metal vocalist of Dio, Black Sabbath, Rainbow, Elf and Heaven & Hell lost his battle with stomach cancer on Sunday. Today, we bring you some more tributes:

Iron Maiden: It is with huge sadness we hear that Ronnie has lost his battle against stomach cancer, and our heartfelt condolences go out to his wife Wendy and family at this terrible time. From his earlier years in Elf, Black Sabbath and Dio, right through to his most recent days fronting Heaven and Hell, Ronnie, time and again, proved his genius as a frontman, always giving his all to his fans and his music. Ronnie was not only an incredibly gifted singer but also a wonderfully warm, intelligent and generous person and this shone through both on and off stage leaving a positive mark on everyone he came into contact with. A longstanding friend of Maiden, we played many shows together over the years and we will all miss him greatly. The world has lost an irreplaceable talent and, first and foremost, one of the finest human beings you could ever wish to meet. Steve, Bruce, Adrian, Dave, Janick, Nicko and Rod

Ozzy Osbourne: I was very saddened to hear of the passing of Ronnie James Dio. Metal has truly lost one of its greatest voices. My heart goes out to his family and to his many fans. Love and respect.

Dio's Rudy Sarzo: I'm saddened beyond words. I will miss the sound of your voice, your magical presence and your wondrous stories. My only consolation is that your now free from your pain. I love you, Ronnie.

Motorhead's Lemmy Kilmister: I'm truly upset, especially since he seemed to be rallying at the Golden Gods show. Bon Voyage, Ronnie. Rest in peace. I'm devastated

Slayer's Kerry King: Few people have had the ability to carry a song like Dio, literally demanding your attention as he effortlessly recreated live the amazing things he did on record. It's odd how things get taken from you quickly...I just saw him a month ago. I know I was lucky to have known Ronnie. One of the nicest guys in the business without a doubt. He will be hugely missed.

Duff McKagan (via Seattle Weekly.com): My part in this 'summer music playlist' it is going to be a touch bittersweet as it turns out. Last weekend, Ronnie James Dio succumbed to his battle with stomach cancer. From what I understand, Ronnie fought like a warrior to the end. I was supposed to pick a new-ish song for this list, but when it comes to rocking out in the summertime , sometimes you just got to go a little bit old-damn-school. 'Last In Line' is an ass-kicker right up there with anything, punk, rock, and/or metal, and us rockers owe a bit of reverence to this great man. R.I.P., RJD!

Steve Vai: Dio was a shining light of rock/metal authenticity. He was a completely dedicated artist with massive talent. It's likely that his vital contributions will continue to inspire well into the future. He is now legend. But more than all this, Ronnie was a really cool guy. I mean reeeally cool. God bless you, brutha.

Bob Daisley:Today, with the sad passing of my friend and colleague, the world has lost a great man. Not only was he a unique singer, musician and writer, he was a very special human being. Long live Rock 'n' Roll and long live the memory of the great Ronnie James Dio. He'll be sadly missed in many ways, bless him.
Joey Vera of Anthrax/Armored Saint: Ronnie James Dio. His name shall be part of the very definition of the term heavy metal. All of us in this community owe a big part to him as he helped shape our entire genre. And he did it with complete originality and sincerity. He is the real deal. By now you've read much about him and how every person who'd had the pleasure of meeting the man use the words "kind," "nice," "humble" and so on. I can tell you that these descriptions are truly accurate. I had the honor of being on tour with Dio on two occasions. Once on his "Magica" tour in 2001 while I was in Armored Saint and then later in 2004 while I was touring with Anthrax. I would watch Ronnie every night side stage and I was continuously blown away by his high level of performance. I must have seen over 40 shows from this vantage point and I never, ever saw or heard a single flaw. You always knew he was a great singer but It was then that I was convinced that he was a gift to us from some other place. Then there's all the times I saw him with Sabbath. I can't even go on… When you have the privilege of meeting someone like Ronnie — an idol, a legend — you almost expect a person like this to be overly confident, cocky, and they deserve to be, really. But Ronnie was the complete opposite. He really was the most humble, sincere and kind person you'd ever meet. He would always find time to stop in his tracks and say a few words to you. He was so down to earth and generous. Through his humility he's taught us all that a man is not measured by the size of his wallet, or trophy collection, but instead by the size of his heart. I myself am glad that he chose the profession of singing because even though his body has been taken from us, his voice will stay here for all eternity. We're all trying really hard here, but Ronnie, we can't thank you enough.

Billboard rounded up some more great tributes. Here are a couple- followed by a link to check out more.

Chickenfoot's Michael Anthony told Billboard.com that he used to cover "Man on the Silver Mountain with Van Halen and sharing the stage with Dio at some European festivals. "He was a great guy," Anthony said. "I remember when we opened for them, all of us were back at the hotel having some drinks; it was his birthday, and I remember us all just hanging out, and he was just a great guy, definitely a driving force in hard rock music."

Corey Taylor of Slipknot and Stone Sour called Dio "one of the strongest, purist and consistent singers of all time. Ronnie sang like he lived -- all out, from the heart, with so much honesty and joy. He was a great man with a smile and a handshake for fans and peers alike. He spoke his mind and stood his ground for decades. I will miss him dearly."

Iron Maiden To Rock Transylvania
Iron Maiden will be travelling to the historic region of Transylvania to play a concert for the first time ever on August 15th 2010.

The show will take place at the Polus Center Mall in Cluj Napoca. Cluj Napoca (commonly known as Cluj) is the fourth largest city in Romania and one of the most important academic, cultural, industrial and business centres in the country. Situated in the northwest, Cluj is roughly 270miles from Romania's capital city Bucharest and has good air, road and rail links with the other major Romanian cities and neighbouring Europe.

As Maiden fans all know, Transylvania holds a special place in Maiden's history; a track by that name appeared on the very first Iron Maiden album back in 1980. Thirty years on, and with Maiden about to embark on a major World Tour in support of their 15th studio album: The Final Frontier (due for release later this Summer), it seems only right the anniversary be marked by the band (and of course Eddie!), FINALLY getting to visit this most atmospheric and infamous of locations! - more on this story

Paul McCartney: Beatles Reunion Was Possible
If fate had allowed it, Paul McCartney tells the Sunday Mail that if his Beatles bandmates had lived, a reunion would have been possible.

"It could have happened. We were asked to do reunion gigs shortly after we broke up. There wasn't any point. It was like, 'We've just split!' I also had Wings so I was a bit busy doing other things. It wasn't really a good idea then, but I think if this much time had elapsed, I could easily see it happening. Somebody would have said, 'Oh go on. Just for a laugh.,'" he said.

"It could have been a charity thing. Or it could have been because we just met up and said, 'Let's do it.' You never know. But it's not to be, so sadly it's all just conjecture." - more on this story

Singled Out: Leiana's Suffer and Love Don't Matter
antiMusic has always been big fans of women that rock and Leiana is no exception. To celebrate the release of her new album, Lucky #3, today (feat big names from Alice In Chains, Walls Of Jericho, Smile Empty Soul, Anthrax, White Zombie, Fuel and Chuck D), we asked Leiana to tell us about some her favorite tracks from album. Here are today's songs: "Suffer" and "Love Don't Matter."

Suffer: Originally "Suffer" was a track on my last record "No Going Back" that I had written with Chuck Treece and released on my own label independently. My manager had introduced me to Rob Caggiano to start working on the new record and I gave Rob that album to give him a sense of my style of music. Rob really liked that tune and expressed an interest in re working it. We kept the verse guitar part and the cowbell of the original, but wrote a new chorus and bridge. Eddie then came in and I finished it with him with new melodies for the chorus and bridge because Rob went off recording or playing somewhere. Rob did record the guitar and bass on that track though, and John Tempesta played drums on it. I was kinda nervous to play if for Chuck once it was done because I wasn't sure if he would appreciate that we reworked the tune, but he totally dug it!

Love Don't Matter- was the first song that Eddie Wohl(my producer/songwriter partner) ever wrote together. We also wrote it in about 15 minutes. we actually had a writing session with Rob Caggiano scheduled and we were waiting for Rob to get off the phone and start the session. Eddie came up with the guitar riff and almost disregarded it because he felt it was too simple. I like it though and I encouraged him to keep going. It was one of the few songs that we actually came up with lyrics to the guitar part simultaneously...Eddie would just play the riff and spit out lyrics, and I would recite back to him the good ones. This continued for about 10 minutes , and by the time Rob came into the session, the first song for the record had been written!

Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind these songs, listen for yourself and learn more about the album - right here!

Both bands will lull you with their complex and dark instrumentation and then hammer you when you are weak and vulnerable. Epic, expansive sludge metal with post-rock dynamics, reminiscent of bands like Neurosis, Isis, Mouth of the Architect and Mogwai.

Black Sunshine An Active Hit
Black Sunshine's new single, "Once In My Life", continues to build steam at Active Rock Radio, where the song has cracked the Top 40 this week, beating out new singles by Nickelback, Hole, Atreyu, and A Day To Remember. The band is currently on tour with Smile Empty Soul and Soil throughout the month of May.

Black Sunshine is the brainchild of professional skier Matt Reardon, who turned to music after he tore the cartilage in his leg after attempting a double back flip. The injury put his skiing career on hold, and resulted in him undergoing 11 operations to repair the damage. During his recovery, Reardon would turn to music and formed Black Sunshine, along with the help of drummer Matt "Toast" Young, bassist Christopher Serafini and guitarist Jeff Flannery.

Black Sunshine's self-titled debut album lands in stores on May 25th, 2010 though BreakSilence Recordings and was recorded by Grammy award winning producer Bob Marlette (Shinedown, Seether, Filter).
