Two big speculations come out of Gibson.com's new interview with Triumph's Rik Emmett. One big story is that the band may reunite for a major tour next year. The even bigger news it that tour may be with Van Halen. Here is that part of the interview: We're scheduled to go for a dinner tonight with a couple of guys from Live Nation that have flown into town and want to take us to dinner," Emmett tells Gibson.com. "I'm sure there's going to be some sort of a pitch. The rumors that have been sort of blowing in the wind are that Van Halen want to go back out yet again next year, but they're going to need some sort of support to make the packaging a little more interesting. "Because Triumph hasn't really ever toured in any kind of a nostalgia way, I think Live Nation kind of goes, 'Oh, yeah, you guys would be perfect for that.' So, we'll see sort of the size and the shape and the glitter of the golden carrots that they have."

Metallica had good news and bad news on Tuesday. Good news for fans in New Zealand, they are getting a new tour date. The bad news is for everyone else in the world that was holding out hope that the band would be visiting you. Here is what they had to say: Dear Friends: We are so psyched to add a second show in Christchurch, New Zealand at CBS Canterbury Arena on September 21...thanks again for demanding that we visit you there!! Now to the real reason we're here taking up space on this site...we also want to announce that all of our play dates have now filled up with the addition of this show...that's right boys and girls, this will be the last date added to the World Magnetic Tour! So if you're waiting for us to come to the Polar Ice Caps, your undiscovered planet or even your basement, sorry, this is as good at it gets. It has been a very long, and most amazing run. The number of shows played depends on when you start counting. We are gonna go with what the boys in the band say, 'cuz they have been out on the road more or less continuously since May of 2008 and that brings us up to a total of 212 shows in 153 cities. Each and every one of them has been memorable and special and we thank you for that. This is where we could spew a bunch of crazy numbers at you...you know the 2.3 million tickets sold, 300 million miles traveled, 3,000 pounds of bacon consumed "shtick," but you don't care about that stuff and frankly neither do we. What we DO care about is letting you know the immense gratitude we feel for all of your love and support over these past two and half years. When we embarked on this "magnetic" journey, none of us ever, in our wildest dreams, imagined how truly incredible it would be and it's all because of hanging out with YOU!

Fans of The Posies, mark down September 28, 2010 on your calendar. That's the date the band release their new album, Blood/Candy (Ryko), and launch their international tour on September 28, 2010. Fresh off the Frosting On The Beater full-album shows and their work with Big Star, The Posies chart unforeseen territory on Blood/Candy while holding onto their well-known signature sound. The Huffington Post states, "depending on how you want to hear it, it's a brilliant return to form or a daring move forward." The almost entirely self-produced record boasts melodic hooks, provocative lyrics and intricate layers of instrumentation that blend far-out, spacey sounds with sophisticated hues. The bulk of the album was recorded and mixed in Spain and their hometown of Seattle, with stops in Ecuador, Canada, Paris and Los Angeles."After the eclecticism of our last album, we thought it would be a good idea to make a kind of classic, back to our roots album, guitar pop with lots of harmonies, etc. We didn't end up doing that--however, what stands in place of that, is an album even more adventurous, more playful and more heartfelt than I think we've ever done. If I had to pick one album for us to be remembered by and delete all the others, no doubt that I would choose this one," says co-founder Ken Stringfellow.

You know may know Chris Shiflett as the guitarist for the Foo Fighters, or as a member of Jackson United and Me First & the Gimme Gimmes or as a former member of No Use For A Name. But know you'll also know him for Chris Shiflett & the Dead Peasants, who released their self titled debut on RCA Records this week. This album indulges Chris's love for the sounds of early rock & roll, rockabilly and country music. These pedal steel and twang guitar-accented songs contain some of the best material Chris has ever written (in addition to a cover of a song by the late Joe Strummer). Recorded at the Foo Fighters' Studio 606 in Los Angeles, CA, this past December and January, the core band on Chris Shiflett & The Dead Peasants is Shiflett (vocals, guitar), 606 house engineer John Lousteau (drums, in addition to engineering), and Derek Silverman (keyboards). The album's additional instrumentation was performed by an array of fine musicians, including Davey Faragher (Elvis Costello and The Imposters, Jenny Lewis, John Hiatt) on bass, Greg Leisz (Wilco, Lucinda Williams, Whiskeytown) on pedal steel, Stevie Blacke (Beck, Weezer, Colbie Caillat) on violin and mandolin, and Audra Mae on backing vocals.

Welcome to Singled Out! where we ask artists to tell us the inside story of their latest single. Today Joshua Sorhagen from Alamance tells us about "Your Eyes" from their brand new album "In The Moment". We now turn it over to Joshua for the story:"Your Eyes" began as a simple piano riff that I had for about a year prior to ever bringing it into the studio. During that time, I was constantly messing around with various tempos and rhythmic arrangements, all around the same basic structure. For a moment I'd want a more upbeat or happier sound and then change my mind the next instant, deciding that the structure would sound better in powerful rhythmic movements. In the end , however, it was the original plain-and-simple that Rob Freeman and I decided to go with for the recording; it met somewhere right in the middle of what I was looking for, balancing emotion and power with a classic pop twist. When we began tracking "Your Eyes", I encountered many of the same things I do when writing with Rob Freeman. His talent is unbelievable and his ear for what sounds great is impeccable. While Rob provided the perfect background guitar riffs and chorus structure, I created a verse melody that I thought made for a perfect balance between sensitive emotion and catchy pop material. Furthermore, while tracking vocals I insisted on using new techniques I had learned to help me truly capture the emotion behind the lyrics in the song. I didn't hesitate to throw in some vocal 'gravel' and really tried to make the listeners feel like it was them I was talking to. My deep and true love for harder, edgier music had to come through somewhere in my new creation, and so the solo I envisioned for the bridge along with the passionate vocals led to a bridge that we thought brought a new dimension to the song. In addition, we had to add the classic half-time last chorus to really drive things home on the power side. Robs incredible ear led to some creative and stunning harmonies as always, although I did have to suck some helium for a few of them (just kidding).

Infernaeon have set the release date and title of their sophomore album. The new album, "Genesis To Nemesis," will hit stores on August 31st via Prosthetic Records. The album was recorded at Erik Rutan's Mana Recording (Goatwhore, Cannibal Corpse, Hate Eternal) Studios in St. Petersburg, Florida with producer Brian Elliott. Infernaeon's founder and vocalist, Brian Werner commented; "Every bad thing possible was thrown at us and we had to eat some serious s*** on a silver spoon and smile about it afterward to get this done. We actually wrote almost an entire other album that we threw out and started from scratch after we trimmed the fat over a year ago, but it couldn't be a better situation now. Steven and Taylor did a f**king amazing job creating a sonic 'image' which complimented the entire album concept perfectly. The album itself is the entire story of the bible from beginning to end, however, it's told historically accurately instead of the brain dead point of view the bible tries to portray. All in all, recording at Mana was an amazing experience as always; Brian and Erik are killer motherf**kers and always are intense to work with and always put forth 100% every time. Mix all the elements together with some Crowley-esque Thelema thrown in and I'm very proud to say that it turned out better then we could have expected!"

Members of Trans-Siberian Orchestra will be backing up C.C. Banana when he tributes fat chicks with a KISS cover. Here is the announcement: Rock & roll comic C.C. Banana, known for his outrageous interviews with rockers and other celebrities, becomes the latest addition to the upcoming tribute album "WHOLE LOTTA LOVE: An All-Star Salute To Fat Chicks." C.C. performs a faithful rendition of the underground Kiss track "Spit," a song from their 1992 album "Revenge." Originally sung by Gene Simmons (with an assist from Paul Stanley), "Spit" is an unapologetic rock & roll rant about the pleasures of pleasuring a large-sized lady. It is also the second Kiss song covered by C.C. Banana in his brief music career, the first being a parody of "Unholy," rewritten as a roast of Danger Danger frontman Ted Poley and appearing on the 2008 album "KISS MY ANKH: A Tribute To Vinnie Vincent." C.C. has amended the title of the track from "Spit" to "Split," in deference to his unique banana pedigree. As C.C. Banana explains, "For the follow-up to my contribution to the Vinnie Vincent tribute, for which I recorded a Kiss song from the 'Revenge' album sung by Gene Simmons, I decided to record a Kiss song from the 'Revenge' album sung by Gene Simmons (albeit with a slight change of title, to better reflect my yellow magnificence). What can I say? Split happens!"

Revoker will soon begin work on their debut album with Skindred's Benji Webbe for an early 2011 release on Roadrunner Records. For a vote of confidence in the band's bright future, look no further than Monte Conner, Roadrunner's Senior VP A&R. Conner enthuses, "Revoker are one of the most ass-kicking unsigned bands I have heard in a long time and I am beyond proud to welcome them to the Roadrunner family. Believe it or not, in my entire career at Roadrunner, they are the first UK band I have signed." Although Revoker officially formed in Spring 2006, frontman/guitarist Jamie Mathias and guitarist Chris Green have been playing in bands together since they became teenagers. The band's engaging 19-year old mouthpiece Mathias comments, "Getting signed to Roadrunner is amazing and almost surreal. I've grown up listening to bands like Megadeth, Slipknot and Machine Head.
