Everest has been invited by their friends My Morning Jacket to help with a five-shows-in-five night run at Terminal 5 in NYC this fall. The Los Angeles-based quintet will take the stage Saturday, October 23 before MMJ caps off their five-album stint with Evil Urges. Already sold out, the show is sure to be a memorable finale for the ambitious week, which is sure to set a historic musical precedent.
The two bands shared stages a couple years back and will be reunited this year following Everest's current outing with Minus The Bear. With Bonnaroo and several recent hometown Los Angeles shows under their belts, the quintet is back to demonstrating their impressive capability to bring their impassioned, On Approach (Warner Bros/ Vapor Records), to life.
The newly posted Daytrotter session captures Everest's prowess and reveals the band at their finest, as they play and sing every note as it were their last day on earth. "The band, made up of some of the most skilled young musicians in the City of Angels, adds various layers of tension and helps Pollard break these vibes up into some sinewy and affecting pieces of what you might even call folky drone, burning through their ideas with reverence, but also without being in a hurry," noted Daytrotter.
On July 28, Everest will join host Jason Bentley for a live session on KCRW's "Morning Becomes Eclectic," certain to prove to be a magical mise-en-scθne for a band who shines in such intimate settings with enviable force.
Following dates include a headline show in L.A. as well as slot with Silversun Pickups in San Diego.
