PR reports: Alice In Chains are giving fans a sneak preview of their upcoming album Black Gives Way To Blue (Virgin/EMI) by posting a brand-new song online. The seven-minute-long track, titled "A Looking In View," can be heard here. A companion video for the song is forthcoming and its trailer is available on the band's site. "A Looking In View" will appear on Black Gives Way To Blue, in stores September 29th. About "A Looking In View," Alice In Chains vocalist/guitarist Jerry Cantrell says, "The song basically speaks to any number of things that keep you balled up inside. A cell of our own making with an unlocked door that we choose to remain in. Focusing our attention inward instead of reaching out to a much larger world. I think this is common to us all. It's funny how hard we fight to hang on to a bone we can't pull through a hole in the fence, or how difficult it is to put down the bag of bricks and move on." On July 18th, Alice In Chains will be sharing the stage with Kid Rock at Comerica Park in Detroit, to be followed by festival shows with Metallica overseas, including an August 1 date at Marlay Park in Dublin and an August 2 show at the Sonisphere Festival at Knebworth. They'll wrap up the international trip with a string of headlining dates, set to kick off August 4th with a sold-out performance at London's Scala.

Fresno Media reports: Lacuna Coil, will make their triumphant return to North America on July 4th embarking on a five-week headlining trek with Kill Hannah, Seventh Void and Dommin. The much anticipated tour also marks the group's first headliner of North America in over two years, so it is definitely going to be a must see event. Andrea Ferro (vocals) further states: "We just got back from the great adventure that was the 'Music As A Weapon IV' tour in the States and let me tell you: our fans are the best! Regardless of these hard times with the economy, they were out there night after night to support live music, ready to rock out and have a good time! We couldn't have asked for a better start for the Shallow Life touring cycle and we really want to take the time to thank Disturbed and all of the traveling parties to make it such a great ride. June is coming and we're getting ready for the summer festival madness around Europe and to embrace all of our European fans and friends. We will be hitting a lot of towns and territories that we weren't able to on MAAW and sharing the stage with old time friends Seventh Void, our new friends Kill Hannah and Dommin. PR reports: Hit Hard: A Story of Hitting Rock Bottom at the Top By Joey Kramer, drummer of Aerosmith hit book stores yesterday. Book Description: In 1997, amid Aerosmith's sold-out world tour and number one album release, word about Joey's troubles was reported in the press. Despite the advice he had received to play it down, Joey revealed in an interview his ongoing struggles with depression. The response from fans and people battling those same internal demons was overwhelming. Joey-who has been the drummer in Aerosmith since it was founded in 1970 and is the first member of the band to release his own book-now tells the complete story: the early days of the band, glamorous drug-addled events leading up to their eventual sobriety, battles within his family and among bandmates, and the explosive internal dynamics in Aerosmith that continue to unleash a fury of endless creativity. This is not just another rock 'n' roll memoir. In addition to the never-before-told Aerosmith war stories that abound in the book, Hit Hard unpacks the history of a rock star who was both fragile and tough, who after years of insane wildness became willing to accept help and finally kick a serious alcohol and drug addiction, only to find that the real terrors and hard work were still ahead. It's the story of an average kid from an average American suburb who went through physical and emotional trauma. It's about years of depression and the nervous breakdown at the height of the band's comeback success. Ultimately, Hit Hard is about how Joey recognized his confusion between love and abuse, awakening to the kind of self-acceptance and compassion that make relationships possible in the "real world" as a member of the biggest band in American history.

Based on preliminary sales numbers from Nielsen SoundScan, the entire top nine positions on Billboard's Top Pop Catalog Albums chart will house Jackson-related titles when the tally is released in the early morning on Wednesday (July 1). Red Light reports: This fall, Curb Records will release Southern Voice, Tim McGraw's first studio album in two and a half years. Recorded in Nashville with his longtime producer, Byron Gallimore (Faith Hill, Sugarland, Phil Vassar), Southern Voice is the follow-up to Let It Go, which debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 in April of 2007. McGraw will support his new album with an extensive tour in 2010.Lead single "It's A Business Doing Pleasure With You" goes to radio today. Written by Nickelback's Chad Kroeger and singer-songwriter Brett James (who has penned numerous hits, including "Jesus, Take the Wheel" for Carrie Underwood), "It's A Business Doing Pleasure With You" is an uptempo, tongue-in-cheek tale about the price of love. As Southern Voice reflects, McGraw is a self-made man with more interest in where he's going than where he's been. His restless instincts have led him down roads seldom traveled by his contemporaries and the new album finds him pushing the boundaries of his artistry once more - with characteristic honesty, grit and soul.

MusicRadar reports: Bob Dylan appears on The Beastie Boys' upcoming Hot Sauce Committee Pt. 2 (due after Pt. 1, natch), but as you might imagine, his contribution is anything but conventional. We sampled his ass," Beastie Boy MCA tells Drowned In Sound. The Boys previously borrowed a bit of Dylan's Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues for Check our Head's Finger Lickin' Good, and this collaboration is no different. The Brooklyn trio says that Bob Dylan's sample is a "spoken word" piece lifted from the iconic singer's Theme Time Radio Hour show.
