(Red Light) This fall, Curb Records will release Southern Voice, Tim McGraw's first studio album in two and a half years. Recorded in Nashville with his longtime producer, Byron Gallimore (Faith Hill, Sugarland, Phil Vassar), Southern Voice is the follow-up to Let It Go, which debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 in April of 2007. McGraw will support his new album with an extensive tour in 2010.Lead single "It's A Business Doing Pleasure With You" goes to radio today. Written by Nickelback's Chad Kroeger and singer-songwriter Brett James (who has penned numerous hits, including "Jesus, Take the Wheel" for Carrie Underwood), "It's A Business Doing Pleasure With You" is an uptempo, tongue-in-cheek tale about the price of love.
As Southern Voice reflects, McGraw is a self-made man with more interest in where he's going than where he's been. His restless instincts have led him down roads seldom traveled by his contemporaries and the new album finds him pushing the boundaries of his artistry once more - with characteristic honesty, grit and soul.
McGraw has sold over 40 million units and dominated the charts with 30 #1 singles. He's won three GRAMMY®s, 14 Academy of Country Music Awards, 11 Country Music Association Awards, 10 American Music Awards, three People's Choice Awards and numerous other awards. His concert tours consistently rank at #1 and he and wife Faith Hill hold the record for the best selling consecutive multi-year tour in North America in country music history for their "Soul2Soul Tour" outings in 2006 and 2007.
His multi-faceted career also encompasses film, television and books. McGraw launched an impressive acting career with 2004's "Friday Night Lights," which he followed with "Flicka" (2006), "The Kingdom" (2007) and "Four Christmases" (2008). Whether he's singing classics like "Don't Take the Girl," "Indian Outlaw" and "Live Like You Were Dying" or portraying the troubled father in "Friday Night Lights," it is McGraw's credibility and his knack for connecting with audiences that have made his hard-won triumphs possible. He co-stars with Sandra Bullock in the upcoming film "The Blind Side," scheduled for release on November 20, 2009.
