Adema, Onesidezero, Re:Ignition Goes Kaput
PR reports: Onesidezero's upcoming European tour, alongside Adema and Re:Ignition, has been cancelled due to personal reasons within the Adema camp. The band has released the following statement:

"Things like this happen and it sucks! Of course we're all bummed out, but Tiefdruck Musik, our German label, our manager, and Onesidezero have worked really hard to make this happen," commented drummer Rob Basile. "We're not looking at this as a complete cancellation, but an opportunity for all bands to regroup and reconvene at a later date. We're still hyped to get there!" - more including dates they are playing that weren't killed by Adema's suckiness

Control Denied Special Edition
PR reports: Metal Mind Productions announce a re-release of "The Fragile Art Of Existence" the debut album by Control Denied. It will be a new digipak edition, limited to numerated 2000 copies, digitally remastered using 24-Bit process on golden disc

There are several reasons for Control Denied to be taken much more seriously than just a side-project. One of them is certainly the name of the group's founder - Chuck Schuldiner to this day remains an icon of death metal music, leaving behind a true legacy of amazing albums and memorable songs. Control Denied was his final and most personal creation – a natural continuation of the ideas gathered in Death's three last albums – "Individual Thought Patterns", "Symbolic" and "The Sound of Perseverance". Although musically the group ventured away from death metal into a bit lighter style, the progressive edge remained untouched – the band's debut (and, as it was soon to be revealed, only) album, "The Fragile Art Of Existence" is still one of Schuldiner's most fruitful efforts, showcasing mature, structured musicianship and amazing songwriting skills.

This classic material from Nuclear Blast archives will be available on 11th February 2008 in Europe and 15th April 2008 in USA (via MVD).

4 People Say Diddy Did It
Contact Music reports: Four people have come forward to back a man's claims he was assaulted by SEAN COMBS at a post-Oscar party last year (07). The hip-hop star is accused of punching Gerard Rechnitzer in the jaw after the 27-year-old objected to Combs' attempts to woo his fiancee at a Roosevelt Hotel party on 25 February (07).

The music mogul is now facing four eyewitness accounts backing Rechnitzer's claims. The witnesses gave their accounts in papers filed in a Los Angeles court on Wednesday (16Jan08) claiming Combs struck Rechnitzer in "an unprovoked fashion".

One witness, Marianna Ruiz, said in a statement, "I just kind of remember seeing him go flying, not flying as in like feet off the ground, but he went back significantly. - more on this story

Buckcherry Lit Up With Platinum Honor
PR reports: "15," the blockbuster third album from Buckcherry, has been certified platinum by the RIAA for sales exceeding 1 million units. Released April 11, 2006, the Los Angeles-based hard rock outfit's "15" kick-started the rock revolution with a remarkable 91-weeks-and-counting on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart, powered by four enormously successful multi-format hit singles: "Crazy Bitch," "Next 2 You," "Everything," and "Sorry." The band will perform "Sorry" live on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on January 24.

Despite the continued decline of record sales nationally, Buckcherry have succeeded in increasing their own sales on "15" over both of their previous efforts. Their 1999 self-titled debut, which spawned the massive #1 hit "Lit Up," has sold 775,000 units – most of which when the music industry was at its peak.

Now, behind the fourth single "Sorry" entering the top 10 at Hot AC and top 20 at CHR/Top 40, the band has reached platinum and will likely double all previous sales – during the worst decline the music business has ever seen. - more Buckstory

Obituary Guitarist Released from Prison
Metal Underground reports: It has been confirmed that former OBITUARY guitarist Allen West was released from the Gainesville Correctional Institution in Gainesville, Florida on January 19, 2008 after serving eight months for driving under the influence (DUI).

According to Headbanger's Blog, West has had problems with alcohol abuse over the years and even quit OBITUARY for a time in August 2005 because he was unable to remain sober enough to play shows. OBITUARY originally hoped West would sober up enough to work on the band's latest CD, "Xecutioner's Return", but the guitarist couldn't pull it off, and on May 16, 2007 he was arrested and imprisoned after his fifth DUI offense.

"If you've followed OBITUARY's history, it really shouldn't be any surprise about West's absence," OBITUARY frontman John Tardy said in a 2007 interview with The Metal Forge. "If you look all the way back to 'Cause Of Death', you could see he had certain issues at the time. If I had to sum up the two years since we released 'Frozen In Time', I would say that they've been a little challenging. His drinking was getting way out of hand. It was affecting us all personally, and affecting our shows with his poor performance onstage. It wasn't fun to be around him at times. It was bad. - more on this story

Muscat Says Faster Pussycat Has Used All 9 Lives
SleazeRoxx.com reports: In a recent interview with SleazeRoxx.com, former Faster Pussycat guitarist Brent Muscat talked about his feud with vocalist Taime Downe. Sleaze Roxx: For awhile you and Taime Downe were battling over control of the Faster Pussycat name, why did you decide to end the legalities?

Brent Muscat: In my opinion the band was dead since we broke up in 93. Taime hasn't helped things by putting out sub-par records that sound like a poor man's Ministry. I was only planning on using the name for one year anyway. The only people who won are the lawyers and the only people who lost are the fans.

Sleaze Roxx: All accounts say that Taime said some horrible things about you at Rocklahoma. Have you forgiven him or just moved on?

Brent Muscat: The day it happened I got 10 calls from people saying Taime said something to the effect of, a lot of people die from cancer, why couldn't it have killed Brent. It was pretty hurtful and classless, not to mention there was a cancer charity at the event. I'm glad I gave him that show, so he could show everyone his true colors. Not only did at least a 1000 people hear him say it, he had the balls to deny he said it. I'm not sure I have forgiven or forgotten, but I can say I've moved on.

Sleaze Roxx: After everything that has happened between you two could you ever see Faster Pussycat reuniting? Hell, Van Halen managed to do it!

Brent Muscat: Comparing Faster Pussycat to Van Halen is funny, we're not even in the same league. I tried to reunite with Taime and Greg, they are obviously not interested. In my opinion Faster Pussycat is dead. - Read the full interview
