Buckcherry Lit Up With Platinum Honor

(PR) "15," the blockbuster third album from Buckcherry, has been certified platinum by the RIAA for sales exceeding 1 million units. Released April 11, 2006, the Los Angeles-based hard rock outfit's "15" kick-started the rock revolution with a remarkable 91-weeks-and-counting on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart, powered by four enormously successful multi-format hit singles: "Crazy Bitch," "Next 2 You," "Everything," and "Sorry." The band will perform "Sorry" live on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on January 24.Despite the continued decline of record sales nationally, Buckcherry have succeeded in increasing their own sales on "15" over both of their previous efforts. Their 1999 self-titled debut, which spawned the massive #1 hit "Lit Up," has sold 775,000 units – most of which when the music industry was at its peak. Now, behind the fourth single "Sorry" entering the top 10 at Hot AC and top 20 at CHR/Top 40, the band has reached platinum and will likely double all previous sales – during the worst decline the music business has ever seen. - more Buckstory
