antiMusic reports: It doesn't get any better
than this! A Blabbermouth reader turned the site on to a bit of a showdown
between Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth and Ozzy guitarist Zakk Wylde.
They even have video of the event but basically it all went down at a rehearsal
show for the reunited Van Halen. Here is part of the Blabbermouth fan submitted
story followed by a link to check the video:
"The last of the four secret rehearsals
by VAN HALEN took place last night [Sunday, September 16] in Los Angeles.
Unlike the other shows where 40-50 people were there, this was a much bigger
affair with about 500 friends of the crew and band. Some of the people
in attendance were Tom Morello (RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE) METALLICA's Kirk
Hammett and Zakk Wylde. About two songs into the show, Zakk — who was front
row — tried to get onstage with Eddie [Van Halen].
The security were wrestling to pull him
off and David Lee Roth came over and said, 'Nah, nah, nah. Are you in show
biz? Then get off the stage. Get off the f***ing stage.' At that point
Eddie came over and acknowledged Zakk, saying something to the effect of,
'Hey, man, I can't do this right now.' Throughout the show though Eddie
was smiling at Zakk."- Some

TuneLab reports: Nine Inch Nails main-man
Trent Reznor announced that his group's current lineup will disband after
their final show of the tour on September 18th in Honolulu, Hawaii.
"At this point, I want to switch things
around a bit," he said. "Nine Inch Nails as a rock band configuration,
we've done it and we've done it again. I see other ways I can present the
material in concert, more challenging, something new. I don't want it to
go stale."
"This group has toured together for two
years", he said. "It's a well-rounded concert, a good collection of songs
from different records."- more

antiMusic reports: The first person the Feds
should have talked to was the nutjob's who "leave Britney alone" video
is burning up the web. That being said, the FBI and LAPD were called on
to investigate claims that someone put out a contract on Kevin Federline.
Possible the only hit the failed rapper and Britney ex could ever hope
for.
Sorry for all the Britney news but this
stuff is just too fun to pass up. In this case, word came out during the
K Fed Britney legal battle royal over the custody of their children. Contact
music reports that "LAPD spokesman Lee Sands has confirmed agents investigated
a possible contract hit on Federline and passed the information on to police
department detectives... Sands confirms the LAPD opened an investigation
in June (07) regarding the incident. He adds, 'Detectives found nothing
to substantiate the allegations. The case is closed at this time'" Damn.
That wasn't only news in Britney land on
Monday, first her lawyer in the custody battle quit and it seems that her
manager has had enough and dropped the pop star, while she reportedly lost
custody of her children and got 86ed from a L.A. hotspot for her latest
public meltdown.- more

antiMusic reports: Another example why music
and politics do not mix especially if you can't stand up for your beliefs.
You would think that someone with extreme leftwing views would feel right
at home on ABC's "The View" but not Barry Manilow. The crooner was pulled
from the show after he refused to debate his views with the show's token
conservative, former Survivor contestant Elisabeth Hasselbeck. Ann Coulter
we can understand but being afraid to debate Elisabeth?
Manilow wears his unwillingness or inability
to defend his politics as a badge of honor. "I had made a request that
I be interviewed by Joy, Barbara or Whoopi, but not Elisabeth Hasselbeck.
Unfortunately, the show was not willing to accommodate this simple request
so I bowed out," he writes on his Web site. "It's really too bad because
I've always been a big supporter of the show, but I cannot compromise my
beliefs."
Those co-hosts have never backed down from
defending their views, which are similar to Manilow's, but somehow Barry
seems to think arguing for his beliefs is somehow a compromise when he's
really doing a disservice to those beliefs. So much for standing up for
what you believe in, which is a real problem with American politics in
the current age where people at the extremes of both political parties
are quick to spout their views but refuse to honestly debate or defend
them.
A source close to "The View" told Reuters
"we canceled him," because producers refused to comply with Manilow's "completely
disrespectful" demands. Apparently this wasn't a big issue for Barry when
he appeared on the show twice in the past year alongside the fearsome Elisabeth.

of You" and "Addicted." In addition, they also worked together writing
for such artists as Bo Bice, Chris Daughtry, Lindsay Lohan and Anastacia.

antiMusic reports: It's a good thing that
boys don't cry because The Cure delivered bad news to North American fans
last month when they announced that their tour that was set to kick off
this month has been pushed back until next spring so the band can remain
in the studio.
The good news is that the new dates have
been announced and they will be hitting our shores next month for a few
special shows including the Download Festival in Northern California.
The new tour will take place May and June
of next year instead of September and October as originally expected but
fans that hold tickets to the original dates are told to hold on to them
as they will be valid at the new dates.
The three night stand in Mexico City that
was part of the original tour schedule was not cancelled and neither was
the Download appearance which takes place on October 6th.
The new North American tour is set to kick
off on May 9th in Fairfax, Va and will wrap up at Madison Square Garden
on June 20th. - dates

antiMusic reports: "If Kanye West sells more
records than 50 Cent on September 11, I'll no longer write music," Fiddy
told SOHH.com last month. "I'll write music and work with my other artists,
but I won't put out any more solo albums." Now that Kanye has handed Fiddy
his ass, could 50 Cent be living up to his promise? Doubtful but he did
just pull the plug on his European tour.
The BBC reports that 50 Cent has "temporarily
postponed" his European appearances after Kanye West topped the UK charts
on Sunday, and is expected to claim the number one CD in the US later this
week. A spokeswoman for 50 Cent refused to comment to the BBC on his retirement
plans. She said that "unforeseen circumstances" had led to the temporary
postponement of his tour.
Now that his 15 minutes of fame are quickly
ticking away, Half a Buck just can't believe that his popularity is slipping.
He is now trying to blame Kanye West's label of somehow rigging the sales
numbers this week. "He's never had a fraction of the sales 50 Cent has,"
Fiddy whined this week according Uncut.co.uk. "They could have one scan
and have it count four times. West's entire career hasn't sold half what
I sold on my first album." - final

antiMusic reports: She's no longer a material
girl, she's a beacon for peace on earth! Why didn't we think of that? All
we need to achieve world peace is a Madonna song. You mean we could have
avoided years of bloodshed by allowing Madonna to be an ambassador of peace?
With one note of "Like A Virgin" the terrorist will lay down their suicide
bombs and join hands together and sing along. It really is as simple as
that in the minds of those with fake British accents.
Doesn't seem likely does it? But you have
to love pop stars that want to change the world. Gigwise had the fun story:
Madonna has been involved in peace talks with Israeli President Shimon
Peres whilst on a visit to the Holy Land to welcome in the Jewish New Year.
On top of exchanging gifts with Peres the
aging singer attended a Jewish mysticism conference and has faced criticism
from some Rabbis who frown upon non Jewish celebrities becoming involved
in Kabbalah. A spokeswoman for the President said: "The pop star pledged
to use her songs to promote peace, and the two toasted the Jewish New Year."-
