PR reports: Oslo will set out on tour this
Fall in support of their new album THE RISE AND FALL OF LOVE AND HATE (Six
Feet / Sidecho). Oslo has enjoyed much success independent of any label
support. Their emotive and engaging live shows and self-titled, self-produced
debut release (2005) garnered significant buzz and coverage from RollingStone,

Oslo one of the top 10 bands to download in the Fall of 2006.
Oslo's forthcoming sophomore release "The
Rise and Fall of Love and Hate," which they co-produced with Grammy Nominated
engineer/mixer Ryan Hewitt (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Mickey P (Beck, Peaches,
The Eels) and Sam Fogarino (Drummer, Interpol) also features guest appearances
by Adrian Young, Melissa Auf Der Maur, Paz Lechantin and Ana Lechantin.

Sony reports: At 9:30 p.m. on Saturday night,
June 7, 1969, the Tennessee Three struck the opening riff of "Folsom Prison
Blues," and "The Johnny Cash Show," live from the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville,
made its debut as a summer replacement variety series on the ABC television
network. The prospect of yet another new tv variety series was still hot
news in the late '60s, and the novelty of it being hosted by The Man In
Black at the undisputed peak of newfound popularity in his career made
it even sweeter.
But the announcement that the ultra-camera-wary,
reclusive Bob Dylan was to be Johnny's guest on the first show (which was
actually taped on May 1st) placed the premiere on an entirely different
historical platform. The two songs performed live by Dylan were both from
Nashville Skyline, his brand new April LP release on Columbia the single
"I Threw It All Away," and a reprise of his duet with Cash on Bob's vintage
"Girl of the North Country," which dated back to 1963, when they first
met.
Those two performances, preceded by Johnny's
own "Ring Of Fire," kick off THE BEST OF THE JOHNNY CASH TV SHOW, a long-overdue
compilation of archived treasures from the run of 58 shows through May
1971. The collection of 66 live performances, hosted by Kris Kristofferson
(whose "Loving Her Was Easier (Than Anything I'll Ever Do Again)" follows
the Dylan clips), with voice-over by Will Lyman (of Frontline) has been
gathered onto two DVDs and will arrive in stores September 18th on CMV/Columbia//Legacy,
a division of SONY BMG MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT. - more

PR reports: As the release date for Diana
Krall's first ever career retrospective, 'The Very Best of Diana Krall'
(9/18, Verve), approaches, the pianist and vocalist enjoyed praise from
journalists all along her national tour route.
Krall, who performed on Live with Regis
& Kelly Monday morning, will also revisit these selections from her
illustrious 14 year career with appearances on The Tonight Show on 9/24
and the Late and Late, Show w/ Craig Ferguson on 10/5.
Pulling out many tunes from the 'Best Of'
during her sets, some of which she hasn't played in 5 years, critics raved,
"Krall is the best thing that ever happened to American song" (Hollywood
Reporter, 8.20.07). The new record celebrates selections from six albums
of the multi-platinum vocalist's repertoire, and debuts three previously
unreleased songs "Only The Lonely" (from 'The Look of Love' sessions),
"You Go To My Head" (from 'The Look of Love' sessions) and Tom Waits' "The
Heart of Saturday Night" (from 'The Girl In The Other Room' sessions).

PR reports: On the off chance one of you is
interested, here is the official announcement: Steve Goldberg and The Arch
Enemies first spread the good news of its debut album to the eastern US
this summer on the "Cheesy Western Tour '07", and now the band has set
its sights on the west coast this fall with a tour that commences in Las
Vegas on October 10th.
The Arch Enemies first materialized as
a rotating cast of live backing musicians for Pittsburgh pop auteur and
music student Steve Goldberg who was studying music composition and creative
writing at Carnegie Mellon University. It began innocently, as these stories
often do, with a trumpet here or a violin there. But before he knew it,
Goldberg was living on the outskirts of London and performing with a tuba
player named King Wang. It wasn't long before he got to experimenting with
string quartets.
And it was there, under the influence of
meat pies, ale, and low brass, that most of the songs that would become
Steve Goldberg and The Arch Enemies were conceived.- more

PR reports: Sick of Sarah releases "Bittersweet"
through Adamant Records. The 3 song EP featuring "Bittersweet," "Hello
Good Morning," and "Paint Like That," will be available digitally and on
seven-inch vinyl. This release follows the "Los Angeles 2006" EP which
featured "Mr. Incredible" and "Common Mistake." Sick of Sarah will play
CMJ Music Marathon on Thursday, October 18th, 2007 in New York City.
After Sick of Sarah asked fans to make
and post videos for their songs to You Tube, one fan edited clips from
the cable show, "South of Nowhere" which has generated thousands of downloads
and while introducing Sick of Sarah to a legion of new fans. This helped
lead the band to the show.- more

The potential for something
classic lurks inside him but maybe he just has to purge whatever it is
that makes him repeatedly write the same two or three songs. It is hard
to fault a musician for being consistent but easy to fault him for being
consistently boring. (3 stars)

hardcore aggressiveness and brutality.- Read
