Madonna to Bring Peace To The World

09/18/07
.
(antiMusic) She's no longer a material girl, she's a beacon for peace on earth! Why didn't we think of that? All we need to achieve world peace is a Madonna song. You mean we could have avoided years of bloodshed by allowing Madonna to be an ambassador of peace? With one note of "Like A Virgin" the terrorist will lay down their suicide bombs and join hands together and sing along. It really is as simple as that in the minds of those with fake British accents.

Doesn't seem likely does it? But you have to love pop stars that want to change the world. Gigwise had the fun story: Madonna has been involved in peace talks with Israeli President Shimon Peres whilst on a visit to the Holy Land to welcome in the Jewish New Year.

On top of exchanging gifts with Peres the aging singer attended a Jewish mysticism conference and has faced criticism from some Rabbis who frown upon non Jewish celebrities becoming involved in Kabbalah. A spokeswoman for the President said: "The pop star pledged to use her songs to promote peace, and the two toasted the Jewish New Year." - more on this story
