Gigwise reports: We've heard a lot about the worthless writers of banal garbage who recently went on strike in Hollywood (we say fire them and get people that can write) but across the nation the folks that build sets for equally banal garbage that takes place live on stage have also gone on strike. Yup, we're talking about Broadway. (We can't fault the stagehands for how bad most Broadway productions are. that's like blaming the Key Grip for a terrible movie). Seems that the strike hasn't only hurt the Streisand loving set, concerts at venues there have also be hit. Most notably Duran Duran. Gigwise has the story: Duran Duran have been forced to reschedule concert dates in New York after Broadway workers went on strike. The strikes by stagehands – which have affected a number of Broadway productions - lead to the cancellation of the band's performance at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre on Saturday (November 10th). The group were coming to the end of a ten-night residency at the famous Broadway venue. Performances scheduled for tonight (November 12th) and Tuesday (November 13th) have now been moved to the Roseland Ballroom.

PR reports: The original Patti Smith bandmember and former Iggy Pop axman, Ivan Kral will join Skew Siskin on stage for their concert in Berlin as part of the Overkill – Motorhead tour on Monday, Dec.3rd."We're totally psyched that this is finally happening. During November and December Ivan is on some kind of bizarre punktour in the eastern part of Europe just for the fun of it and we found out that he has some offdays when we play Berlin. So we invited him to swing over to Berlin and share the stage with us. I mean, he has a song on our current album "Peace Breaker" and now I can't wait to play it with him live. He really knows Rock'n Roll and he's one of those players you can create this hardedged Rock 'n Roll guitar sound with", says Skew Siskin's guitarist Jim Voxx.

PR reports: The hardest partying thrash band alive, Municipal Waste will be touring the west coast with California sons, Suicidal Tendencies in November/December.Municipal Waste have captured high regards for their fast paced, bay area throwback thrash and humorous approach. With high ratings and high visibility in reputable industry magazines like Decibel, Revolver and Metal Maniacs (of which they are currently on the cover of), Municipal Waste has earned critical credibility and widespread fan acclaim simply by being a uncompromisingly bright and unique spot in a sea of metal pretention and darkness. Not to mention that the nightly sights of boogie-boarding crowdsurfers, stagedivers and "The Inebriator" keep bringing fans back to see what may very well be the funnest live show anyone could experience. The full tour dates are as follows: NOVEMBER 17 Tucson AZ Rialto Theatre 18 El Paso TX Club 101

PR reports: It seems pretty clear that Arrested Development is back. The band's latest album, and first new material in 12 years, is currently ranked #9 on the iTunes Hip Hop Charts, and the video for "Miracles" is in full-rotation at all major outlets. Critics are heralding the band's triumphant return and, most importantly, frontman Speech is…well…speaking. Long known for being vocal about various social issues, Speech had some thoughts on rapper Nas' new album title, Nigger. "As a fellow artist, I'm a fan of Nas's artistry. As of yet, I'm not upset about him choosing to use the word for the title of his album, because so far, I don't know WHY he chose to use it. If I decide to buy this album, and the title is NOT justified, then it will show the true and warped motivation of not only Nas, but America's culture of glorifying the shocking and insensitive behavior of people, for sales, headlines, and ratings. "It's also the reason I'm saddened when I hear comments about it being 'a great business move', or a comment like 'at least people are talking about it' because that is just another example of people wanting to gain the whole world—fame, fortune, power—while losing their soul. Mark 8:36. (Holy Bible) Nas, our present administration, and the entire entertainment industry needs to take heed to that scriptures meaning." – Speech

Without viewing the film, the Halloween soundtrack is a classic mix with terrifying (and humorous) sound bites interspersed, but I'm sure that after viewing the film, the soundtrack becomes a memory of a motion picture experience. (3 stars)

Rise to Dominate is basically the rehashed spiel of generic death metal you'd expect from any second-rate group, and not living up to any hype in the mean time. Death metal fans will definitely be able to function without Rise to Dominate
