(PR) Nettwerk Music Group announces the addition of Liverpool electronic pop foursome Ladytron to the Nettwerk Productions label roster. The band is currently in Paris recording their fourth full-length album (title forthcoming) with co-producer Vicarious Bliss of Ed Banger Records (Justice, DJ Mehdi, Busy P), due out in May 2008. Nettwerk co-founder Mark Jowett is thrilled Ladytron has joined the Nettwerk family: "Ladytron is one of the coolest, most vital and cutting edge bands around right now. Each of their albums is more seductive than the last, and their live performance is electrifying. As a company, we are having the time of our lives with some amazing, energy-infused artists like Datarock and Felix da Housecat. It is an honor and a privilege to add Ladytron to that roster."
The May release marks the follow up to 2005's critically acclaimed Witching Hour, which Pitchfork called "the most urgent and immediate [album] of their career... it not only has a pulse, it has chilled blood in its veins." Ladytron toured worldwide behind Witching Hour for nearly two years, both as headliners and as support for such acts as Nine Inch Nails and the Chemical Brothers, all the while experimenting and creating new material.
"We came straight from our final shows in the US to the studio in Paris to complete what we have been working on for the last year or so," says band member Daniel Hunt. "The sessions are exciting, and we can't wait to get the new tracks out there."
