Evans Blue Week: Q
DiR reports: We're celebrating the release of Evans Blue new CD, "THE PURSUIT BEGINS WHEN THIS portrayal OF LIFE ENDS," this week. We asked the band to pick their five favorite tracks from the CD and tell us a little bit about each one.

Today they tell us about Q - This is, in my opinion the best song we've recorded so far. It's got a killer riff and the vocals are high and have a great sense of urgency that will grab at you.- Grab a preview of the CD, get tour dates and more here

Perry's Peril: Losing Band Members
antiMusic reports: There is one thing you can count on from Perry Farrell. No, it's not releasing hitless albums. It's his forming groups that fall apart quickly. Such is the case with his latest band, Satellite Party. TuneLab has a report that the band just lost two key members.

TuneLab reports: "Just as the Satellite Party prepare for their North American tour, guitarist Nuno Bettencourt and drummer Kevin Figg have announced their departure from the band. Nick Perri of Silvertide will fill in on guitar and Jordan Plosky will fill in on drums."

Not many details are really known about the departure and we don't know of any reality shows that Nuno and Kevin were taking part in.- read a statement from Nunu

Clarkson Backtracks on Clive Feud
antiMusic reports: Remember when we said that we're going to give Kelly Clarkson the hero of the year award for standing up to Clive Davis? We take it back after the pop singer took to her website to take back her recent comments about her feud with Davis over putting her own songs on her new album "My December".

In fact, Kelly has done a bit of a flip-flop from "You're 80. You're not supposed to like my album" stance to kissing the geriatric label heads large rear. On her website she writes: " There has been quite a bit of controversy surrounding the release of "My December," much of which has focused on a supposed feud with my record label, in particular, Clive Davis. I want to set the record straight on this by saying that I want my band, my advisors, those close to me and my record label to be one big, tightly knit family. Like any family we will disagree and argue sometimes but, in the end, it's respect and admiration that will keep us together. - more crow being consumed here

Pop Stars Can't Write?
Jam! reports: Of all the names in music, Chantal Kreviazuk may be the least likely to appear in a headline. Although she recently released her own album, the songwriter usually stays behind the scenes to pen hits with artists such as Kelly Clarkson, Gwen Stefani and Avril Lavigne.

But earlier this month, Kreviazuk rocked the pop music world by suggesting that Lavigne was a collaborator in name only. Although she quickly retracted her comments and others defended Lavigne, the flap illuminated a long-standing fraud that has become more prevalent than ever: "singer-songwriters" who do much less songwriting than their publicists would have you believe.

"It's crazy!" exclaimed Grammy-winning songwriter Diane Warren, who has written for artists such as Whitney Houston, Celine Dion and Mary J. Blige. "How can someone look in the mirror and know they didn't do something and their name is on it? For money? For credit? It's a lie."- It's a rather interesting report on this scam and you should read the rest here.

UB40 Almost Framed By Cops
Gigwise reports: A former undercover Police officer has revealed that the West Midlands once planned to fit up UB40 in a fake drugs bust.

Ronnie Howard makes the claims in a new book entitled 'Looking For Trouble' which is about his 23 years spent in the force.

Hilariously the bust was code-named 'There's A Rap In My Kitchen' after the bands famous hit 'Rat In Mi Kitchen'.

Lordi Cancel Shows
BW&BK reports: Finland's monster rock n roll band LORDI, currently on the mainstage of Ozzfest 2007, have cancelled their previously announced off-date shows during the summer tour.

In a written statement from the band it says: "Things have been going exceptionally well for Lordi this summer on Ozzfest 2007. We've had some great crowd responses so far and the shows have been a lot of fun. Lots of rock n' roll and pyro!

"And because the shows have been going over so well – the fans really are into what Lordi have brought to the tour - we feel that taking the LORDI show into a smaller club environment won't deliver the full stage show that we are playing every night as part of Ozzfest so we've decided to cancel the previously announced off-date shows- more on this story

Slash Returns Stolen Guitar
Sleazeroxx.com reports: Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash showed his gratitude at a recent Hard Rock dedication ceremony honoring his music - by returning a guitar he stole from the organization.

The ex-Guns N' Roses rocker's career was celebrated at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on July 14, and Slash surprised officials by handing back a long-lost instrument he took without asking years before.

He says, "The guitar has the best story. I stole that from the Hard Rock in Orlando (in Florida). It was in the dressing room. I didn't know what it was doing there, so I took it.- more on this story
