PR reports: Emerging Columbia Records artist
Brandi Carlile will headline this year's VH1 "You Ought To Know" tour featuring
special guest, Capitol Music Group artist A Fine Frenzy, showcasing the
music of 22-year-old Alison Sudol.
The month-long "You Oughta Know" tour kicks
off September 6 in Eugene, Oregon and wraps up on November 2 in Seattle,
Washington, the hometown of both Brandi and Alison (see full itinerary
following).
The tour will donate $.50 from every ticket
sold on the fall tour to the environmental non-profit organization Reverb
(www.reverbrock.org). With this donation, Reverb will help Brandi plan
an environmentally sustainable tour and will offset the estimated global
warming CO2 emissions from the tour with NativeEnergy by helping build
new Native American and family farmer owned renewable energy projects.-

PR reports: Some 30 years after splitting
in 1974, Iggy Pop reunited with his original band, The Stooges, to record
some new tracks and tour. Liberation Entertainment is proud to release
this performance recorded at Belgium's Lokerse Festival in August 2005
on a special double DVD and audio CD, including blistering versions of
nearly all the great tracks from the first two Stooges albums, as well
as new songs Skull Ring and Mindroom.
The bands performance combined the raw
vigour of youthful song writing and the out of the world techniques of
veteran musicians. All members of the original line appeared - the Asheton
Brothers, Dave Alexander and of course the legendary Iggy Pop. Barely out
of their teens in their heyday (1967-1974), The Stooges were as much influenced
by Detroit's industrial noise as they were rock groups like the Velvet
Underground, The Who, the Stones and experimental jazz artists such as
Sun Ra and John Coltrane.
'Escaped Maniacs Live at Lokerse' comes
packed with over 5 ½ hours of footage, together with bonus material,
including interviews with the band members and Iggy Retrospective more
than 30 years in 60 minutes. - tracklisting

PR reports: Capitol has released the new video
for "Pictures of You" from The Last Goodnight directed by Marc Klasfeld
(Foo Fighters, Gnarls Barkley).
"Pictures of you, pictures of me remind
us all of what we could have been" sings Kurtis John, front man of The
Last Goodnight, in the video for "Pictures of You." Piecing together like
a stained glass window, moving from dark to light, the video poetically
tells the story of the stark contrast between how things are and how they
could be.
The debut album, Poison Kiss, from the
Connecticut band hits stores on August 28 through Capitol Records.-

PR reports: Nire releases their debut full
length CD, Vespers, on October 9, 2007 through Abandoned Love Records.
Erin Morgan and Josh Hinton are the duo behind Nire and are currently based
in Portland, OR. North American tour dates are scheduled for this fall
after embarking on a European tour in August; playing shows in London,
Dublin, Galway, Vienna and Berlin.
Vespers is hushed and intimate, laced with
lo fi whispers and the protection of light sleep. Instrumentation and arrangements
are sparse, yet the songwriting and performances are rich with thoughtful
restlessness. Vespers was birthed by a culture of the bedroom, a culture
rooted in introversion, urgency, and a humble appreciation of the sublime.-

antiMusic reports: We got the following email
today and thought we'd pass it along: I just read a story from the site
about new ways to discover indie bands -- I hope you'll take a look at
Dinner with the Band (www.dinnerwiththeband.tv), an Internet TV show from
ON Networks.
Dinner with the Band is a "virtual cooking
show meets indie rock concert." The show features NYC hipster chef Sam
Mason cooking for up-and-coming indie bands and talking with them about
life on the road, performing, etc. To date, the show features Cities on
Fire, El-P, Tokyo Police Club and Pela. Coming soon are Matt & Kim,
Pigeon John and F**ked Up.
What's cool about Dinner with the Band
(and all ON Networks shows) is it's an original show, professionally produced
in high-def, and fully compatible with iPhones. Users merely go to iTunes
and download the show for free (and of course, they can go to www.onnetworks.com,
too).
It's a fun, entertaining look -- and great
promotion for the bands. Take a look -- I think you'll enjoy it.-

PR reports: This week Hard Attack welcomes
the almighty thrash legends Testament for a very special extended version
of Hard Files. Join host Jose Mangin and original Testament members Chuck
Billy, Eric Peterson, Alex Skolnick, and Greg Christian for an audio gathering
to discuss the band's past, present and future.
The interview will begin airing Thursday
at 7PM EST, and will be rebroadcast Friday (12 PM EST), Saturday (3 PM
EST), and Sunday (6 PM EST).
Hear the metal gods discuss everything
from their current metallic tastes, to fashion, to their forthcoming new
album set to come out next year, to medicine men that helped Chuck kick
cancer. It's a true testament to the band that helped shape metal today
and continues to take the music to new levels.
