Iggy Pop and The Stooges Live Reunion DVD

08/10/07
.
(PR) Some 30 years after splitting in 1974, Iggy Pop reunited with his original band, The Stooges, to record some new tracks and tour. Liberation Entertainment is proud to release this performance recorded at Belgium's Lokerse Festival in August 2005 on a special double DVD and audio CD, including blistering versions of nearly all the great tracks from the first two Stooges albums, as well as new songs Skull Ring and Mindroom.

The bands performance combined the raw vigour of youthful song writing and the out of the world techniques of veteran musicians. All members of the original line appeared - the Asheton Brothers, Dave Alexander and of course the legendary Iggy Pop. Barely out of their teens in their heyday (1967-1974), The Stooges were as much influenced by Detroit's industrial noise as they were rock groups like the Velvet Underground, The Who, the Stones and experimental jazz artists such as Sun Ra and John Coltrane.

'Escaped Maniacs – Live at Lokerse' comes packed with over 5 ½ hours of footage, together with bonus material, including interviews with the band members and Iggy Retrospective – more than 30 years in 60 minutes.
