Plies Pulls Out of Vh1 Hip Hop Honors
Plies has announced that he will not be performing at the 2010 VH1 Hip Hop Honors. For the first time ever, VH1 is honoring a particular geographic region for its contribution to hip hop and this year's theme is "The Dirty South", celebrating the music, influence and artists of The South.

As a real southern icon in the Hip Hop world right now, Plies was a key addition to the performance line-up that was announced in March 2010. However, there is now a scheduling conflict since Plies had to push the release date of his most anticipated album from May 25th to June 8th in order to lower the album street price for his fans. As a result, Plies feels that it is important to focus on his fans and the days leading up to the release of his fourth album Goon Affiliated.

"I had to make a choice between personally meeting with my fans during my album promo tour or performing at the VH1 Hip Hop Honors and the choice was easy –fans come first," explains Plies. - more on this story

Singled Out: Paul Adams
Welcome to Singled Out! where we ask artists to tell us the inside story of their latest single. Today Paul Adams tells us about "The Ancients" from his new album "Heavens". We now turn it over Paul to for the story:

The Ancients utilizes a haunting Native American Flute played in a middle Eastern minor scale that attempts to paint an aural image of sound representing my personal interest in mysticism.

The drone and flow of the piece represents the ongoing sound that is universal. Whether Hindu, Buddhist, Taoist, or any other "ism", my interest is in a unified theory of spirit. One tradition may call it "OM", physicists may call it "the big bang." For me I see little opposition between the mystic traditions after you dive beneath the surface. My song The Ancients is my aural painting of my instinctual belief.

Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album - right here!
