Although she was born in the eighties, Nicole Simone has always been fascinated with nostalgia and old films from a very young age. She writes all her music with love for creating a mood and environment of her own in which one gets transported into old movie scenes set in a David Lynch-ian smoky nightclub, where Nicole takes the stage in front of the red plush curtains. Her haunting, intoxicating and timeless music is illustrated by a unique instrumentation of guitar, marxophone, orchestron, trumpet, mandolin, vibraphone, piano and ukulele. Nicole just completed her first EP, which will be released on March 9th 2010. On the opening track entitled, "The Wedding Song" actor/musician Jason Schwartzman lent his talents on drums and banjo. Nicole Simone's music can be heard in the Sundance film The Good Life starring Bill Paxton, Zooey Deschanel, and Harry Dean Stanton, as well as in the indie film Alone With Her starring Colin Hanks. Her diverse artistic influences range from Frederic Chopin to Tom Waits and New Orleans funeral processions to the likes of Howlin' Wolf, Billie Holiday and Cesαria Ιvora.

(Submitted News) They are two of the hottest and most nationally recognized Texas touring bands in the country. Separately, Cross Canadian Ragweed and Reckless Kelly have long led the Red Dirt Revolution and, after partnering for charitable events and awards shows in years past, the two bands will finally join together for a truly Ragged and Reckless tour beginning March 3 in Nashville, Tennessee. "I'll probably come back with a couple of good stories from [that run], I imagine," laughs Willy Braun of Reckless Kelly. "It's been a while since we've done a full-on tour with those guys, so that will be pretty fun." The decision to tour together arose after both bands returned from the sold-out 2010 MusicFest in Steamboat Springs where they shared the stage with Robert Earl Keen, Lee Ann Womack, Chris Knight, Dean Dillon and more. However, the relationship between the two bands extends to early days when they had similar performance circuits, including Lucy's in Austin, Texaswhere both bands now call home.

The evocative forthcoming release of a new album, The Last Tibetan Midnight (due out February 16 on Zai Records) and tour by Northern-California born band The Greening continues along their original mission statement, to develop a whole new iconic pop rock sound through experimentation and making interjections of psychedelic calamity into every song. The Greening mix up all the classic sounds from stylings like garage rock craziness and catchy jump pop and heavy acid rock noise. The years since their 2003 debut album, After Shoal Parlor, which established The Greening as a new sound institution, have been a rocky but lucrative journey. They've been writing and learning and self-teaching three albums worth of music, putting together the perfect mixture of recording cacophonous percussion and crazy rock panic conviction and going around San Francisco, refining performances of powerful rhythms and convincing vocal sets. While playing random concerts in random venues up and down the California coastlines and inland, a video was developed by local animator Danny Ochoa for The Greening's hit, "Sunday Afternoon," which was released on 2009's (She's So) Electric EP.

Rachael Sage weaves an introspective tapestry of a gypsy seeking a home on 'Delancey Street'. The MPress Records release, set for May 18th brick-and-mortar (and available digitally on April 20th via iTunes,) is a musical exploration of identity...of cultural heritage, family history, and how where we come from shapes the paths we ultimately take in life. Drawing inspiration from her immigrant Jewish heritage as a creative starting point, Sage's atmospheric collection evokes a weathered scrapbook, as if each track captured a moment in time and articulated the experiences through song. The CD reflects Sage's deeper sense of perspective, earned after a decade on the road, living without a true 'home'. This past year, she made a conscious decision to reestablish her roots, solidify her relationships, and bring balance to her untethered life. The result is 'Delancey Street'. Sage puts it bluntly: "'Delancey Street' is an album about change, written by someone who happens to be petrified of making the wrong choices."
