Iggy
41
MuchMusic recently spoke with Derick Whibley
about their collaboration with Iggy Pop (see
story). Derick said, "He was done the record and he just decided last
minute that he wanted to do a song with us." The band spent two days in
the studio with Pop. "He was just so nice and so humble," said Whibley.
"He said we're one of the only bands out there that has balls and writes
music for the right reasons, so it was a great compliment."
Iggy’s new album “Skull Ring” will hit
stores on September 30th. The disc also features Iggy’s former Stooges
band mates Ron and Scott Asheton. Apart from the Sum 41 contribution, the
album will also contain a guest appearance by Green Day. - Click

Sticks
& Stones
Launch Reports: The Rolling Stones' Toronto-based
promoter is subtly threatening to pull the group out of its July 30 concert
in the Canadian city because of complaints about the show.
Michael Cohl, who's been producing the
Stones' world tours since 1989, issued the warning to the Toronto Sun,
saying that media complaints about transportation and restrictions on what
fans can bring onto the concert grounds have angered him--and could well
cause the Stones to reconsider their appearance.
…The concert is being held to bolster Toronto's
image after the spring's outbreak of SARS.
…About a half-million people are expected
to attend the concert, which will also feature AC/DC, Rush, the Guess Who,
and Justin Timberlake, among others - .Click
