Rock Legend's Band Member Killed In Shootout
The bass player in rock and roll legend Jerry Lee Lewis' band was killed in a shootout this weekend.

The shooting took place at an apartment complex in Memphis on Sunday. Lewis' bass player, 70-year-old music veteran BB Cunningham Jr., and a teenager were killed. Cunningham was working at the complex as a security guard.

The Washington Post reports that the shootout began between a 16-year-old boy and a 22-year-old man, according to police. Cunningham responded to the shots by chasing the teen and the man into another apartment complex nearby where another round of gunfire erupted and a co-worker found Cunningham and the teen, identified as Henry White, in the courtyard suffering from gunshot wounds. Police pronounced both dead on the scene. more on this story

KISS' Paul Stanley Responds To Aerosmith Insult
(hennemusic) KISS frontman Paul Stanley has responded to negative comments made about his band by Aerosmith's Steven Tyler.

During an interview with 102.5 The Bone in Tampa Bay, Florida last week, Tyler was asked about touring with the New York rockers, saying "KISS is a comic-book rock band. They've got a couple of hits, but they're more, they're comic book — you see them in their spackled faces."

Stanley and KISS guitarist Tommy Thayer appeared on Rockline Monday night to promote their newly-released album, "Monster." Host Bob Coburn asked Stanley if he had a response to Tyler's comments. "Maybe Steven's feeling a bit full of himself because he has an album coming out," said Stanley.

Regarding the 2003 co-headlining tour with Aerosmith, Stanley told Coburn, "Steven insisted that they close the show. I really [didn't] care because one way or the other you have to come up onstage. He had a chip on his shoulder back then. [He] was a looking down his nose a bit at KISS. Seeing him come onstage to an underwhelmed audience and [seeing] people walking out [made me smile]." He then issues a bit of a challenge for Aerosmith.

Thin Lizzy Retiring Their Name
(hennemusic) Thin Lizzy are retiring their band name out of respect for the late Phil Lynott. The groupwill not be releasing their new album under the name and will soon stop touring under the legendary moniker.

Last month, Thin Lizzy guitarist Scott Gorham confirmed the band will start recording a new album this fall. The project marks the group's first studio album since 1983's "Thunder And Lightning," and its first since the passing of frontman Phil Lynott, who died in 1986.

The current line-up features Lizzy veterans Gorham, Brian Downey and Darren Wharton, with Ricky Warwick on vocals, ex-Whitesnake man Marco Mendoza on bass and former Alice Cooper guitarist Damon Johnson.

Now, after a very successful 2-year run with the current lineup, Thin Lizzy have made a decision to not release the new album under the Thin Lizzy name. "Out of respect to Phil Lynott and the legacy he created, we have decided that we should not release a new album under the Thin Lizzy name," says Gorham. Read the rest of his statement here.

Fleetwood Mac Will Be Back Soon
Stevie Nicks previously said that Fleetwood Mac would be back next year and now she has given fans a timetable of their return and what it may involve.

"We go into rehearsals somewhere around the end of February," Nicks told ABC News Radio. "So...if everything goes to plan, we should probably be out [on the road] by end of April [or] May, I would think."

She also said that the group may have some new songs as well. "Well, actually, maybe like two songs, maybe four, who knows?" she says. "We don't really know yet 'cause we're not in the world of Fleetwood Mac yet." But, she reveals that Lindsey Buckingham "has a song," and adds, "I have a song that didn't make the Buckingham-Nicks album that I really love. So, I'm gonna suggest that." Read the ABC News Radio report for more details.

Iron Maiden Won't Last Another Decade?
Iron Maiden founder Steve Harris expressed doubt that the legendary metal band will still be playing together a decade from now.

Harris spoke to The Quietus about his new solo album, "British Lion" and was asked "Obviously in Iron Maiden you're all really fit, you play football, the gigs themselves are obviously work outs. Is there any reason why you can't keep on doing this for another ten years?"

He responded, "I don't know about ten years but I think we've certainly got another five years in us but it's hard to say. As you get older it gets doubly hard to keep yourself fit and in shape. We do work really hard on doing that. It's important to us. We'd be selling ourselves and everyone else short if we didn't, so we do look after ourselves. It does get tougher. I don't play football much any more but I play a lot of tennis. Partly because I've had so many problems with my back that I can only play the odd match here or there. Unfortunately it's five years since I've played a full season of football and that's something that I miss a lot but I had to make a decision. " The interview covers a lot of ground, check it out here.

DJ Lethal Returns To Limp Bizkit
DJ Lethal has announced that he has reunited with Limp Bizkit following the very public tension with the band earlier this year.

Lethal informed fans that he has returned to the group with a series of postings on Twitter last Wednesday. He wrote, "I want to clear the air about limp bizkit. I have had some personal issues over the last few years that have led to some outbursts. I lot of the things I said about the band and fred was out of pain and anger. None of which I really meant deep down inside. So I think I owe it to fred,Wes,sam and john and the fans to really admit the truth. I had some problems. Be it partying on the road. Talking sh*t when I was drunk and causing internal conflicts. Today is the day that I can finally be a man and step up and say I'm sorry.

"The rants are done. And were really embarrassing. I think the guys in the band were actually looking out,I really needed a wake up call. So to finally come clean is really hard but the weight of the world on my shoulders is even harder to carry around. I'm in a great place now and want to thank everyone who had my back through the dark times. So to all the fans and the band. I really was fkd up for a while. I'm sorry. Fred and the band are great people. We're all human. All love!! more on this story

Eddie's health issue, which flared up following the end of the first leg of the band's "A Different Kind Of Truth" tour, caused the postponement and eventual cancellation of a series of Van Halen concert dates across North America this summer, and the postponement of a series of dates in Japan that were scheduled for November.

While bassist Wolfgang Van Halen is on the road with Tremonti, frontman David Lee Roth has been keeping himself busy with martial arts training and, the continuation of his series of videos under the title "The Roth Show."

The latest clip, entitled "Sarcasm/Tattoos," features Roth delivering a rambling monologue on both subjects. "Trying to explain American humor to people from outside the United States is an art in itself," explains Roth. "Particularly in Japan, where the idea of sarcasm is completely alien."
