Bill Wyman Records With The Rolling Stones Once Again
(Gibson) Bill Wyman has definitely reunited with The Rolling Stones for a new tribute album. The bassist, who left The Stones in 1992, has teamed up with Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood to record a version of Bob Dylan's "Watching the River Flow" on a new charity album, Boogie 4 Stu, in tribute to the band's late co-founder Ian Stewart.

As previous reported by Gibson.com, the album is helmed by pianist Ben Waters, with all proceeds going to the British Heart Foundation. Jools Holland and Polly Harvey also reportedly play on the album, which is produced by Glyn Johns. The five Stones did not, however, physically get together in the studio for the track: each layed down their parts in separate studios around the world.

As reported on Music-News.com, a band source explained: "Charlie and Ronnie were already playing on the album and then Keith recorded his parts in New York, including 'Watching the River Flow." This was e-mailed back to Mick in France and he sent it back with a vocal and harmonica track. Bill also put the bassline on." more on this story

Ozzy Wants Pranks At His Funeral
(Rock AAA) Ozzy Osbourne may well be lucky to be alive, but he's adamant that his eventual demise will be marked with celebration rather than sadness.

In his somewhat ironic health column in the Sunday Times Magazine, Ozzy says: I don't care what they play at my funeral; they can put on a medley of Justin Bieber, Susan Boyle and We Are The Diddymen if it makes 'em happy, but I do want to make sure it's a celebration, not a mope-fest."

"I'd also like some pranks maybe the sound of knocking inside the coffin, or a video of me asking my doctor for a second opinion on his diagnosis of 'death'." more on this story

Singled Out: Oliver Trolley's Circles
Today Kevin Childs from Oliver Trolley tells us about the title track from their debut EP "Circles," which was released last week. Here is the story:

It all started at a restaurant/bar called En Fuego located on the 101 in Del Mar, California. I was meeting up with a group of people for a friends 22nd birthday party. While I was there chatting with some friends, I ran into this girl that I had met previously through the same group of people. We started talking and hit it off right away. A couple drinks and a cab ride later we were at my house happy as can be. We had a great time that night and it wasn't till the next day that I found out she had a boyfriend. Woops…. To top it all off she also told me that she was a dancer… and I'm not talking about a ballerina. Anyways, shortly after our little scandalous vacation she broke up with her boyfriend and we started seeing each other very regularly. At first, I didn't attach too many emotions so her dancing didn't really bother me. It was a very physical relationship and I kept it at that. But after a while I started to really like this girl which set me up for some problems, the main one was dealing with people close to me finding out about how she was making a living. In the end, it was a little too much so I had to cut it off.

I wrote the lyrics for 'Circles' shortly after the relationship had ended. I was feeling kind pissed off because I had stopped seeing this girl that I really liked because I was worried about what people would think of me. For some reason I channeled some of that anger towards her and you can definitely feel that in the song. I may have been a little too rough on her but hey, that's what I was feeling at the time, and that's about as honest as I can get.

Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album right here!

Injury Sidelines Weedeater
Earsplit sent over word that a member of Weedeater has been injured forcing them to reschedule some tour dates. Here is what we received:

Well, they made it through a month and a half of heavy duty touring in support of Jason...The Dragon, playing packed and sold-out shows every day in front of rabid crowds from coast to coast. But as with all things Weedeater, somebody in the band was finally injured and they were forced to cancel the last few shows of the US leg of their Jason...The Dragon tour. These shows were in the Southeast US and will be rescheduled at a later date.

As for the injury sustained; guitarist Shep broke his hand and could no longer wield his mighty axe of six strings for the remaining shows. But, as with every previous injury this band has sustained -- while on or off of tour -- Shep has been healing his mangled bones and Weedeater will be getting back out there to hit you all with a dose of their inhumanly heavy live show almost immediately.

The album was tracked with Chris Common (Pelican, The Sword) at the Red Room Studio in Seattle and mixed and mastered by Dan Swano (Bloodbath, Nasum, Opeth) at Unisound in Sweden.

Vocalist/guitarist TJ Cowgill commented on the new album: "Thematically, 'The Cold Testament' will be a little looser than 'Horoskopus,' but there is still an underlying current to both the sound of the album and lyrically. This will in my opinion be our strongest, most haunting offering, closing another chapter in the Book of Black Earth." more on this story
