Jack White's Next Project: Jerry Lee Lewis

(Gibson) The "Mean Old Man" is coming to Third Man. Rock and roll legend Jerry Lee Lewis will perform a special, one-off show at Jack White's Third Man Records, in Nashville, Tennessee, on Record Store Day, April 16. According to a post on the Third Man Records website, the concert will be recorded "direct to analog tape" and produced for release by White himself. The untitled album will be sold at Third Man Records, "within weeks, reminiscent of the spontaneous releases of Lewis' early career." The Killer's early hits include the classics "Great Balls of Fire" and "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On," among many others. His latest album is last year's Mean Old Man. A special concert merits a special backing band. Lewis will be performing with guitarist Steve Cropper (Booker T and the MG's, many Stax records), drummer Jim Keltner (Bob Dylan, Neil Young) and bassist Jack Lawrence (The Raconteurs, The Dead Weather). more on this story
