Axl Rose Vs Most Powerful Man in Music
Some would argue that Irving Azoff is the most powerful man in the music business, put his A list roster of management clients aside, he is the executive chairman of Live Nation Entertainment. So few artists would dare tangle with him, but Axl Rose isn't like other artists.

Axl and Guns N' Roses signed with the management team of Irving Azoff and Andy Gould in March of 2008 but last month Axl Rose posted on Twitter that "Guns is now managed by Doc McGhee." McGhee was Motley Crue's manager back during their heyday and manages the current incarnation of KISS.

Now AP reports that "Front Line Management, which was founded by Irving Azoff, sued Rose in Los Angeles on Thursday for nearly $1.9 million in unpaid fees. The company claims it had an oral agreement with Rose to receive 15 percent of the Guns N' Roses' frontman's commissions. The lawsuit states the commissions are due on more than $12 million in earnings Rose made for performances abroad." - Read the AP report

Stone Temple Pilots and Scott Weiland Didn't Record New Album Together
(Rock Radio) Stone Temple Pilots worked on their reunion album separately from singer Scott Weiland, bassist Robert DeLeo has revealed. While DeLeo was writing songs with his guitarist brother Dean and drummer Eric Kretz, Weiland recorded his vocal tracks in his own studio with the help of producer Don Was.

But it wasn't an impossible situation for a band with a 23-year history, DeLeo tells Billboard.com. He says: "Scott wasn't there for the creation of these songs. We kind of guessed our way through it. It was challenging because we had to get as much done as we could to complete a song, but hold back because we had to see if it was in the right key and stuff like that.

"The songs we sent over to Scott were pretty much in a completed form, with a scratchy melody, and he had the option to use the melody or not." - more on this story

Circle of Fate's New Album Coming in June
Circle of Fate has ventured back into the studio to record a new album slated for release this June. "The new material we are recording will be our 5th CD for original members Danny and I," explains lead singer Michele Caruso "With two new members on this CD, Jeff Barker on Bass and Ken Kreis on Drums, we are very excited that this will give COF a fresh 'edge' in the music scene while keeping our own unique style. This extra 'edge' will keep Circle of Fate in the public eye and our fans wondering, 'What will this band do next?' This new CD will cross new thresholds for our band and will take us to the next level."

"In my opinion, the new material sort of goes back to our 'Inner Sanctum' album," adds Danny, "which really focuses on melodies and amazing vocal lines, but this time with a punchy edge to it. We were able to blend Michele's melodies and vocals with punctuating dynamics and edgy guitar riffs. The new material is also a touch more commercial than 'Back to Life' with its melodies and vocals but still maintains an edge with the dynamic drums and bass and in your face guitar riffs."

Producer Eric Greedy, who has worked with such music legends as Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Elton John, Steven Tyler, Brian Wilson, Rage Against The Machine, Guns &Roses (the list goes on and on), produced two songs on the new CD. Also, formerly from Slash's Snakepit, Matt Laug played drums on the two tracks. Both cuts were mastered by industry legend Big Bass Brian, who's impressive list of clients include the likes of Alice Cooper, Black Eyed Peas, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Grateful Dead, Hall &Oates and Kiss, just to name a few. - more on this story

Singled Out: Sick Puppies
Welcome to Singled Out! where we ask artists to tell us the inside story of their latest single. While Sick Puppies are gearing up to kick off a tour with Nickelback, Breaking Benjamin and Shinedown next weekend, we were lucky enough to touch base with bassist Emma Anza who tells us about the song "Odd One" from their latest album "Tri-Polar". We now turn it over to Emma for the story!

'Odd One' is probably one of our favorite songs on our record "Tri - Polar" as we all individually relate to it one way or another.

I met Shim in high school and I think it's safe to say that we were outcasts and felt pretty odd compared to the rest of kids in school. Shim was the eccentric kid doing anything and everything creative and I was the slightly tom boy girl who was quiet and shy. High school can be a rough place when you're trying to grow up and find your way and it makes it especially rough when you feel like you're the odd one.

When it came time to write and record "Tri - Polar" I had an odd time signature bass line that I used to play all the time for fun and in the writing process I played it, Shim and our producers Tim James and Antonina Armato liked it and we all started calling the song 'The Odd One' and then the lyrics came naturally about what it feels like to be the odd one out. It was the perfect subject and we all reminisced about being in high school or even being in present day situations.

'Odd One' is a single off "Tri - Polar" and we were all really happy that it got to be put in the spotlight.

Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album, the band and see if their tour is coming to your town - right here!
