Unheard Led Zeppelin Interview To Air

We just received word that Carol Miller's Get the Led Out syndicated radio show will feature a previously unheard interview with Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin conducted by legendary British bandleader Long John Baldry next week. Here are the details we were provided:

The interview was conducted by Baldry in the late Seventies at the peak of Led Zeppelin's popularity. This intimate and revealing interview will be featured on Carol Miller's Get the Led Out radio show during the week of June 14-20, 2010.

Roger Waters Expands The Wall Tour

North American fans in four major U.S. cities who were unable to score tickets to Roger Waters upcoming tour for The Wall are in luck, he's added some new dates to the trek. Here is the announcement from Live Nation, the dates and some words from Roger on what the tour is all about:

In response to overwhelming fan demand for tickets to Roger Waters' upcoming North American concert tour commemorating the 30th anniversary of the original release of The Wall, a final four shows have been added to the production's North American itinerary.

Dates have been added in Chicago (9/24), Boston (10/3), Oakland (12/3) and Los Angeles (12/5). The tour will begin on September 15th in Toronto with 52 confirmed shows throughout North America. - more on this story

New Weezer Fifa World Cup Song

Rabid soccer fan and Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo inspired the band to record an "unofficial" theme song to celebrate this Saturday's historic rematch between the U.S. and England in the World Cup.

Here is the announcement: On Saturday, June 12, 2010, the U.S. will meet England in the World Cup for the first time since 1950. 60 years ago, the U.S. famously beat the British soccer powerhouse 1-0, in a game since dubbed "The Miracle on Grass." In honor of the historic 2010 rematch, Weezer's A.P.E. Radio station, "Radio Weezer," will begin to spin "Represent" at 9 am PDT on Friday, June 11th - the day before the U.S./England kickoff. The song will repeat frequently on the station to rally support for the team, and will be a free download on iTunes in the U.S. for one week starting at midnight on Friday, June 11th.

Rivers Cuomo and Weezer will be cheering on the team at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, where Weezer will be headlining over the weekend. The Grammy-winning frontman was quoted on MLSsoccer.com as saying, "They are actually playing the game on a big screen at the festival. So if you can believe it, I'll be sitting in front of that big screen with all the other concert-goers, watching the game. Twin Atlantic Announce Dates With Blink-182 and The Gaslight Anthem

Twin Atlantic have been personally invited to support The Gaslight Anthem on their UK tour and have just been announced as support to Blink-182 on their UK dates in Aberdeen, Glasgow and Dublin.

Sam McTrusty (vocals, guitar) said, "I think it's fair to say we are pretty shocked but really excited to have been picked to support blink-182 this summer. Like most rock fans who were 13 in 1999, I was a massive fan of the band and I grew up with them being a soundtrack to pretty much everything thereafter. At the risk of sounding cheesy but being completely honest it is a little bit of a dream come true scenario."

Singled Out: Breathing Blue's A Star in the West

Welcome to Singled Out! where we ask artists to tell us the inside story of their latest single. Today Rob Bost from Breathing Blue tells us about "A Star in the West" from their brand new EP. We now turn it over to Rob for the story:

"A Star in the West" is not only the first song on our album but it is also the first song we wrote as Breathing Blue. We started writing it before we had our drummer Jason LaRaia; in fact we did not have a drummer at all at the time and every time we tried someone out…they just couldn't follow along with it. I didn't understand what was so hard to get about it but I guess every drummer that first heard it just couldn't play it, except for Jay of course.

Jay was a past drummer of ours and we parted ways about a year before Breathing Blue. But when Jay and I started writing together again just for fun, I showed him Star and he not only fell in love with our new style immediately, but also started playing exactly what fit perfect. He just knows me and Matt's chemistry so well, we can play something for the first time and he will just know when the next verse of chorus is coming and what it will be like, no matter how different we make it. And that is chemistry that you can never let go of. Ever.

We finally completed the song after already working on several others on the album. Ever since Jay joined and we recruited our bassist Chris Dechert, Star and our other anticipated single "Chase the World" were completed first and then we just knew exactly where we wanted to go with the rest of album. But without Jay hearing the first version of Star, who knows if we would even be Breathing Blue!

Rob Thomas and Daryl Hall Jam

Matchbox Twenty frontman Rob Thomas will be the latest artist to venture over to Daryl's house when he joins Daryl Hall on the 31st and latest installment of Live From Daryl's House.

This episode brings together Thomas and Hall for a set that includes Daryl Hall and John Oates hits "Kiss on My List" and "She's Gone" with Matchbox Twenty smashes "3 A.M." and "Disease," which Rob co-wrote with Mick Jagger as well as "Ever the Same" and "Someday," a pair of selections from his two, critically acclaimed solo albums. The two also join together on a soulful version of the classic, "I Heard It Through the Grapevine." The 31st edition of the award winning series debuts June 15 at www.lfdh.com.

Tub Ring Set New Album Release

Tub Ring will return with their new studio album, Secret Handshakes, which will hit stores on August 31 on The End Records.

The group recorded the 14-track album at Chicago's Electrical Audio and at keyboardist Rob Kleiner's own Studio Edison, with Kleiner doing double duty as producer.

"It's always a challenge when you enter a studio to get what's in your head out and on to the record," said Kleiner. "After intensely studying and practicing the art of recording and mixing for the last 5 years, I finally felt comfortable recording by ourselves. A whole year in the making - we had virtually unlimited time to do EVERYTHING until it was perfect. In the end, I feel that this is the first Tub Ring album where each recorded song captures every element we envisioned in our minds and hearts." - more on this story

Four Year Strong Go Acoustic

Four Year Strong have posted an acoustic version of "Wasting Time (Eternal Summer)" on their Myspace page. They also have a full summer touring schedule on the Warped Tour that kicks off later this month.

The song is from their upcoming "Enemy of the World" special edition, which will be available June 22nd on iTunes and June 25th on the Vans Warped Tour.

Bloc Party's Kele Okereke Extends Tour

Bloc Party's Kele Okereke has expanded his first U.S. tour in support of his solo debut, The Boxer, which comes out June 22nd on Glassnote Records.

The tour will will take Kele and his live band – including a keyboardist, a drummer, and a multi-instrumentalist – across the entire U.S. Live, The Boxer becomes an entirely new experience, anchored by Kele's inimitable voice. Tickets for these shows will go on sale Saturday, June 5th.

The Candy Snatchers will release their third and final full-length album, Down At Delilah's, next Tuesday (June 15th) on Drug Front Records.

New Bomb Turks Reunion Gig Part of Gunk Punk Undergut Book Launch Party

Two bits of New Bomb Turks news for you, first the band has announced a reunion gig that will take place on June 26th in Brooklyn and secondly, frontman Eric Davidson's history of garage punk 'We Never Learn: The Gunk Punk Undergut, 1988-2001' is finally hitting the streets and to celebrate he is heading out on a barnstorming book tour later this summer.

The book is the next chapter in the Please Kill Me/American Hardcore/Our Band Could Be Your Life succession. It starts with Homestead Records and ends with the Black Lips, King Khan & BBQ, Jay Reatard and covers Crypt and Sympathy and In The Red and the Gories and Billy Childish and the Mummies and the Cheater Slicks and Blues Explosion and the rise of Sub Pop.

These bands weren't swept up in the "alternative rock explosion." They played and acted like a bunch of punks, yawned at the Green Days and Offsprings of the world who were supposedly bringing "punk" to the masses, played Sonics bootlegs in their tour vans as much as Iggy Pop, the Ramones or Black Flag, and had soaked up just enough of music biz history to know that they would never be welcomed—even through the servant's entrance. Fates Warning, Within Temptation and Threshold Supergroup is Born

(Submitted) Threshold keyboard player Richard West has teamed up with guitarist Ruud Jolie (Within Temptation) and drummer Mark Zonder (Fates Warning) for the recording of a new currently unnamed project fronted by vocalist Farrah West.

The project was first planned in 2002 when Farrah and Richard moved from their U.K. home to the Czech Republic to find time and space to record their debut album, with guest musicians including guitarist Tore Østby (Ark, Conception).

However, the project stalled and Richard West spent the following years concentrating on progressive metal band Threshold, clocking up European chart success with two albums and scoring a motion picture soundtrack slot for his song "Pilot In The Sky Of Dreams". - more on this story

Little Steven Revisits Monterey Pop Tonight

Little Steven kicks off summer festival season today on his nationally syndicated show Little Steven's Underground Garage by celebrating the legacy of the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival.

Van Zandt, who calls it "the coolest event ever in the history of the universe," will spin tracks by artists that played there, such as The Jimi Hendrix Experience, The Byrds, The Jefferson Airplane, Otis Redding, and more.

The show will also feature Little Steven's new favorite songs by The Grip Weeds, Alejandro Escovedo, Gaslight Anthem, and Nick Curran and the Lowlifes. Indian Relapse

Indian will begin recording for their Relapse debut this fall, having just inked a deal with the label.

Indian commented on the signing and forthcoming full-length; "We are hitting Semaphore Recordings in early October with engineer Sanford Parker, and with the addition of Will Lindsay on second guitar/vocals and Sean Patton on noise, it's going to be like nothing you've heard from us before. The album, which has yet to be named, is set for an early 2011 release and we will be hitting the road thereafter. Chambers Album Release Shows

Chambers have lined up several shows including two scheduled for next week in Brooklyn, NY in preparation for the release of their debut album "Old Love"

The first show is on June 17th and it is presented by 1000 Knives. Chambers will be sharing the stage with Acid Tiger and Gators. The show takes place at Acheron (located on 57 Waterbury St).

The second Brooklyn show takes place a mere three days later on June 20th. Chambers will be playing at Public Assembly (70 North 6th St) With two shows in the span of three days, there is no excuse to miss your chance to see Chambers in Brooklyn. - more on this story

Rosaline Vitality Theory

Rosaline have announced their Good Fight Music debut, The Vitality Theory, will hit stores on July 20th, 2010.

The Vitality Theory is produced by the band, and is mixed by Andreas Magnusson (The Black Dahlia Murder, Haste the Day, Gwen Stacy). The record is tracked by Joel Wanasek at JTW Studios.

Rosaline will debut a brand new track from The Vitality Theory entitled, 'London Lost its Fog', today on their MySpace page. "Musically, the song is a subtle odyssey of inspirational chord progression and timbres," states vocalist and guitarist Madison Stolzer. The Last Republic Will Flood The Gates in July

The Last Republic have announced their first release since winning last year's Road To V competition. The track, '(C'Mon) Flood The Gates,' will be released on July 12th 2010

The Last Republic's debut album, 'Parade', is scheduled for release on September 20th 2010. Recorded at the legendary Monnow Valley Studios in Monmouthshire, Wales, the album is currently being mixed in Los Angeles by Andrew Scheps, who is producer Rick Rubin's mix engineer. Andrew has previously worked with artists as diverse as U2, Metallica, Johnny Cash, Michael Jackson & The Mars Volta.

On June 11th, 2010, The Last Republic will perform in front of 24,000 people at London's O2 Arena, after being chosen by Kerrang! Radio as the support act for rock legends Bon Jovi. The Last Republic were chosen from over 900 bands to land this most prestigious of gigs. - more on this story
