In the run up to the Road To V, The Last Republic received airplay from Radio 1 DJ's Zane Lowe ("...speaking of the future, here are a band who have a big part in it.") and Huw Stephens ("The Last Republic are making a name for themselves as purveyors of soaring epic anthems...Catchier than the clap and dressed sharper than razors, it's clear that The Last Republic have the proverbial 'bigger things' lined up squarely in their crosshairs."), were playlisted by XFM and awarded the Record of The Week accolade on Claire Sturgess' NME Radio show. After supporting the likes of The Charlatans and Placebo, The Last Republic continued to expand their fiercely loyal fanbase with a five-week tour of the UK during Autumn 2009, before starting work on the debut album at the legendary Monnow Valley Studios in Monmouthshire, Wales.
