Here is part of the official announcement: This Winter, VH1 Classic is bringing classic music fans an expanded line-up of all-new original series. "Behind the Music Remastered" premieres Saturday, February 6 at 10PM ET* VH1's Emmy Award-nominated and critically acclaimed series " Behind The Music ," returns to continue some of these now iconic stories. Starting Saturday, February 6 at 9PM ET*, VH1 Classic will air eight new half-hour weekly episodes of "Behind the Music Remastered" featuring some of classic rocks seminal artists including: Genesis, Motley Crue, Metallica, Judas Priest, Def Leppard, and John Lennon. Rodrigo Y Gabriela Announce Spring Tour Dates
ATO Records is excited to announce that the explosive Mexican guitar-shredding Rodrigo y Gabriela have announced their Spring 2010 tour of North America.

The dates begin February 28th at the 9:30 club in Washington, DC, run through March, and culminate with a special performance at New York's historic Radio City Music Hall on April 29th. These dates are a part of Rodrigo y Gabriela's world tour in support of their acclaimed sophomore album, 11:11.

The follow up to their stunning self-titled debut, 11:11 met and exceeded the expectations of fans and critics alike. "One listen to 'Hanuman' or even 'Buster Voodoo'" wrote Relix, "and you know you're in for a wild throbbing ride that predictably intensifies when Testament's Alex Skolnick joins them on 'Atman.'" Guitar World said, "it's impossible to imagine that just two guitars can produce this level of musical density and complexity," while Paste declared, "Rodrigo y Gabriela offer today's best exposition of the pyrotechnic, fusion-oriented edge of Spanish style guitar playing." Since the September '09 release of 11:11 Rodrigo y Gabriela have performed on The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and The Tavis Smiley Show. 11:11 has also been recognized by the NAACP, garnering a nomination in the Outstanding World Music category for the organization's forthcoming Image Awards. - more on this story

X-Factor Gave Bon Jovi A Bad Name?
(Rock Radio) It's official: appearing on the X-Factor was a bad move for Bon Jovi. While pop acts who did a turn saw their profile rise, JonBon and the boys actually garnered less coverage after their set.

The New Jersey Band, who may or may not still be a rock outfit, performed their most recent single We Weren't Born to Follow on Simon Cowell's gameshow extravaganza in November.

But things didn't go so well for Bon Jovi, who wound up being talked about less online across the world after doing the deed. Out of the 18 acts measured for online buzz, only George Michael and Rihanna fared anywhere as badly as Bon Jovi. - more on this story

God Forbid Hitting The Road
God Forbid are back with a vengeance kicking off the New Year with a bang as they have just replaced Throwdown on the upcoming Five Finger Death Punch North American tour.

This massive trek, which kicks off on Jan. 21st, will now lead the band directly into their final run of the Earthsblood album cycle with Kittie this March.

Doc Coyle (guitars, vocals) further states: "This is quite a surprise to announce GOD FORBID's participation in the Five Finger Death Punch, Shadows Fall and 2 Cents tour. This was a tour we were looking at when it was first being put together, so the fact that we eventually landed it, even though it was a last minute thing, is a stroke of good fortune. We do wish our friends in Throwdown well, and hope whatever happened turns out ok in the end. Big thanks to FFDP for bringing us out! We have become good friends with them over the last couple years, and the fact that they are making this huge gesture is awesome. We go all the way back with our brothers in Shadows Fall to our first tour in 2000, so this will be another trip around the rodeo with some old friends. We've never toured with 2 Cents, but know Adair from Manttis and the other guys seem super cool. Combined with the spring tour with Lamb of God and the summer Mayhem Festival, this will be the most successful US touring cycle GF has ever had, so it's a big reason to be positive in 2010! - more on this story

I Get Wet Drummer Addresses Andrew W.K. Conspiracy Theory
Donald Tardy, the drummer of Obituary, has gone on record in an exclusive interview with MetalSucks in an attempt to defend Andrew W.K., on whose debut album "I Get Wet" he played drums (as well as live during the following 2+ year Andrew W.K. touring cycle). The Internet has been swirling with rumors lately regarding the true of identity of Andrew W.K., who said in a recent video that more than one actor has played the role of Andrew W.K. throughout the hard partying rocker's career. Excerpts from the interview follow:

There are all these crazy rumors, and who knows who started them, that "Andrew W.K." has been played by different actors and that there are 2 different dudes. Like I mentioned before, as if there was some kind of creation like a Disney character or something. What's your thought on that?

I don't know. Andrew is a dude. He is a dude that I know. I think it's when something happens so quickly and so successfully, people can't accept that. That's understandable especially when people don't understand his talent and how focused he was and how the songs were already there long before he got signed. I can tell that he had many ideas and songs. He probably had 2 or 3 albums worth of music before anybody experienced who he was. When it explodes as quickly as it did, people can't accept that so they probably just make up rumors. Let's face it, he's quite a charismatic kind of dude. He's bigger than real life. You combine those two [things] with the success and people can't understand it so they immediately think there has to be more to it. But he's a dude. He's a dude from New York that grew up in Detroit. He's a metalhead, but he's a phenomenal piano player. You combine those two [things] and what do you get? You get metal meets Meatloaf. It's just songs that people don't know how to write, he wrote way more catchy than it should have been and people just didn't know what to think. It was unquestionable when you hear "Party Hard" and "She is Beautiful." I was playing it for the singer of Six Feet Under, it was still a demo then, and he was like "oh my god, this is going to be a gold record the minute it comes out." It was. The minute that people heard it, it was unquestionable that it was more catchy than anything. That's where rumors start.

Who is Steev Mike?

Steev Mike is the one that I never met in person, but it's a dude that Andrew really trusts, and it was a guy that always had his vision. He was there to guide Andrew when needed. When it came to, not necessarily the song itself, but to stay focused on how the concept should be and what the albums and the people need to hear from Andrew. I never got to meet him, but he was obviously always there and Andrew was always turning towards him for just staying focused on what these albums and what this concept should be. - read the full interview

Cory Chisel and the Wandering Sons and Dawes Team Up For Tour
Black Seal and ATO Records are thrilled to announce the Cory Chisel and the Wandering Sons and Dawes co-headlining winter tour. The dates will kick off on February 5th at the Crepe Place in Santa Cruz, CA, and loop around the country, culminating with a show in the Dawes' hometown of Los Angeles, CA, on March 11th.

With the fall release of the debut album Death Won't Send a Letter, Cory Chisel and the Wandering Sons continued their relentless touring schedule through 2009 that began with the previously released EP Cabin Ghosts. After a stop at Carnegie Hall, a TV debut on Jimmy Fallon, and a trans-continental tour with Brendan Benson, Cory and his band are excited to tour the US again and visit more cities, some new and some visited many times before. Cory's shows are at times both mesmerizing - when he's performing quiet beautiful songs like "So Wrong For Me" - and rollicking, as evidenced when he sings first single "Born Again." The emotion in Cory's voice that was noticed early by fans and critics alike remains constant and unwavering with every performance.

Dawes has spent the past several months on the road, as they've been celebrating the release of their debut record, North Hills ("When You Call My Name" was featured as NPR's Song of the Day this week). Musician and producer Jonathan Wilson (Elvis Costello, Jenny Lewis) produced the album, which was recorded in his cottage studio. The album was recorded completely live, which led to the raw, beautifully rootsy songs that have gained attention from fellow musicians as well as critics in both America and the UK. Dawes' soulful and emotional stage performances have garnered new fans in every city they've played in across the country. Each band member brings his own enthusiasm, honesty and palpable commitment to the mission at hand, creating a stage presence that is engaging, charming and charismatic.
