Metallica, Judas Priest, Def Leppard, and John Lennon For Behind The Music Remastered

01/15/2010
.
A long long long time ago before Vh1 became the sup... oops repository of a-decade-or-more past their heyday celebs to make idiots of themselves in mindless reality TV shows, the network had a popular music based program called "Behind The Music". Which let's face it, if they aired repeats of that program 24 hours a day it would probably get higher ratings than most of their current shows. But have you ever wanted sequels to your favorite BTM episodes? You are about to get your wish on the more music focused Vh1 Classic with Behind The Music Remastered, plus a couple of other noteworthy new shows.

Here is part of the official announcement: This Winter, VH1 Classic is bringing classic music fans an expanded line-up of all-new original series. The new slate of programming begins on Friday, January 22nd at 8PM* with "The Music Video Exposed" and continues with "Behind the Music Remastered," featuring updated versions of some of the series most memorable episodes beginning on Saturday, February 6th at 10PM*. VH1 Classic is also announcing today that they have teamed up with Mark Burnett Productions to bring viewers the new original series "Rock 'N' Roll Fantasy Camp," which is set to premiere during Summer 2010.

"Behind the Music Remastered" premieres Saturday, February 6 at 10PM ET* VH1's Emmy Award-nominated and critically acclaimed series " Behind The Music ," returns to continue some of these now iconic stories. Starting Saturday, February 6 at 9PM ET*, VH1 Classic will air eight new half-hour weekly episodes of "Behind the Music Remastered" featuring some of classic rocks seminal artists including: Genesis, Motley Crue, Metallica, Judas Priest, Def Leppard, and John Lennon. Picking up where the original " Behind the Music " episodes left off, VH1 Classic will air brand new interviews, footage, and video clips that update the stories of several classic artists over the last 10 to 15 years.

"The Music Video Exposed" premieres Friday, January 22nd at 8PM ET* VH1 Classic goes behind-the-scenes of the biggest music videos of the 80's to bring you all the stories you've never heard before in the new 30-minute weekly series "The Music Video Exposed." Each episode will focus on an influential music video director and his catalogue of work. The director and artists reveal the truth behind some of the most famous 80's music videos. The 6-week series spotlights famed music video directors David Mallet ( Billy Idol "White Wedding"), Wayne Isham (Metallica "Enter Sandman"), Russell Mulcahy (The Buggles "Video Killed The Radio Star"), Kevin Goody (The Police "Every Breathe You Take") and Steve Barron ( Michael Jackson "Billie Jean.")

" The Music Video Exposed" will explore how concepts came about, which artists were hard to handle and of course, the scandals that occurred on set. Get the stories behind the historic music video, "Video Killed The Radio Star," the innovative use of computers in Dire Straits' "Money For Nothing," and how rotoscoping created a new look for A-Ha's "Take On Me."
