Orphaned Land Release New Song and Announce Release Party
Israel's Orphaned Land's new album, The Never Ending Way Of ORwarriOR will be released on January 25th (February 9th in the US). They will play a special album launch show in its home country on February 4th, 2010 at the Theatre Club in Tel Aviv.

The band kick off the New Year with a brand-new track from their upcoming opus The Never Ending Way Of ORwarriOR.

Singer Kobi Farhi explains: "The track 'Disciples Of The Sacred Oath II' is a heavy song, both musically and lyrically and it is one of the most important tracks of the album by its meaning. Indeed, it calls for a laying down of arms, to realize that the warriors are first of all brothers: 'Lay down your swords, blood and flesh you share'...'Shall we see the end of war, bloodbrothers?' It is definitively the most outspoken text we ever wrote on this subject. Furthermore, as this song contains Arabic lyrics, we would like to dedicate it to our Arab fans and we hope that one day we will sing it together in a show in their home countries!"

Standing Shadows Release Pre-Album EP
From the streets of Los Angeles comes the powerful, energetic, and driving sounds of Standing Shadows, and with the release of the EP, High Rise on January 5th the combination of longtime friends David Miltenberger (lead vocals, guitar) and Dan Silver (lead guitar, vocals) have hit the sonic jackpot.

Having already earned placements in television shows such as the new 90210, The Cleaner, and The Shield, among others, Standing Shadows is taking your television screen by storm. The band is also featured in the in-game trailers of Guitar Hero 5, backing the interviews with Matt Bellamy (Muse) and Shirley Manson (Garbage).

Over five years in the making, Standing Shadows is the product of the long distance collaboration of Miltenberger and Silver. The group could be defined as electro-obscura-shoegazer-rock, while conjuring audio reminders of groups like Silversun Pickups and My Bloody Valentine. The EP is a precursor to the band's full-length album, "Five Years of Darkness," set to be released on March 9th.

- The EP is available on iTunes

Worker Bee Releases Tangler and Book Bay Area Dates
Worker Bee's debut album, Tangler, is what the band made it to be and whatever the listener wants it to be. This ethos has been instated since the first conception of the band came together in San Jose, California in 2006. They self-released two EPs before mounting creative clarity came to a head and they penned their first full-length album. Their sound continues to evolve from one release to the next, perfecting the marriage of elaborate instrumentation, angularity and beautiful haunting noise.

An exercise in simplicity, limitation was key in the recording of Tangler. Done in the non-studio of the band's house in California and working with only eight tracks each song, the record itself speaks of something larger than the whole. Space left ajar by the music is quickly occupied by the listener's own impartments.

Because of this intended elasticity, the album never makes a home in any strict genre. Songs like "Nesting" and "Cold Rats" are awash in percussive gasps and collapsed guitars. Through its blue dirge, the narrative of "When You Came Through" depicts a man giving in to something that most never could. "Rough Magic" emits a displacing fog where landmarks only appear in the sampled clangor and the steady drums become the only ground. The album's side closers "No Dreams" and "Surface Eating Acid Bath" entail all the ideas of Tangler. No one thing has meaning and reason endowed on it in the same way twice but the attempt is the real goal. - more on this story

Candlelight Expands Roster with Krieg, Woe And Yaotl Mictlan
Candlelight Records today confirms the recent signings of Krieg, Woe And Yaotl Mictlan. All three add to the English label's growing American roster, a concentrated effort of the label the past several years. Currently celebrating its ninth year of US operation, the label opened US offices January 2001 with the release of its first album, Zyklon's acclaimed debut World ov Worms. In early April, Candlelight continues its quest to deliver quality recordings by both new and established recording artists.

The Isolationist is the confirmed title for the sixth album from New Jersey-based Krieg. Main creator Imperial says, "it is truly an honor to get to work with a professional label at this point in Krieg's career. The Isolationist will be more experimental, uglier, and yet more beautiful than previous Krieg records." The album will start production in early February at Volume Studios in Chicago. The record is tentatively planned for a July release.

Philadelphia-based Woe join Candlelight after the underground success of their debut, A Spell For The Death Of Man, in 2008. The band, featuring creator Chris Grigg with a rotating lineup that features members of Absu, Rumpelstiltskin Grinder, Green Evening Requiem and Woods Of Ypres, will kick off the new year performing alongside Behemoth this Thursday at the Theatre of Living Arts in Philadelphia. Titled Quietly, Undramatically, the new album is tentatively planned for a late summer release.
