Soundgarden Reunite

There was big news over the holiday weekend that Soundgarden have decided to reunite. If you missed the report, here it is again for you: This reunion is a little funny considering how we just recapped some of Chris Cornell's comments where he liked a Soundgarden reunion to "playing the back of Chinese restaurant" in this report. Be that as it may, it appears that 2010 will see a reunion from the legendary Seattle rockers.

Chris Cornell announced the reunion plans via a post on twitter and also linked to a website setup for the regrouping. He wrote the following on Twitter on Thursday:

Godsmack Frontman To Pay Millions for Car Crash Settlement

It apparently pays to be involved in a car crash with a major label rock star, especially for the lawyers! The Eagle Tribune reports that Godsmack frontman Sully Erna has reached a multimillion-dollar court settlement agreement over a lawsuit from a 2007 car crash that he was involved in. Now it's up to a judge to finalize the deal.

Eagles Tribute report: Lindsay Taylor, 27, and her parents, Elaine and Jeffrey, sued Erna for the April 11, 2007, three-car crash on the ramp from Interstate 93 south to Route 213 east.

Taylor rode in the back seat of a Toyota Camry driven by Eric Sargent, which was hit by the 41-year-old rock star's Hummer. Taylor suffered a severe traumatic brain injury, according to court documents.... Erna claimed that part of the responsibility laid with Sargent — he argued that Sargent first rear-ended a Honda Odyssey driven by Maureen White of Londonderry

NME had this: The Who should not perform at the NFL Super Bowl XLIV halftime show, a child welfare organisation has reportedly argued. Child AbuseWatch.net told the South Florida Sun Sentinel it objects to guitarist Pete Townshend performing with the band due to his 2003 arrest and police caution for accessing child pornography. more

Courtney Love is countersuing credit card firm American Express after company bosses took legal action against her for allegedly failing to settle a bill worth more than $350,000. more

It sounds like something out of Spinal Tap but it's very real. Lambgoat reports: Liferuiner's already tumultuous history has suffered another setback as two "versions" of the band are apparently jockeying for control over the Liferuiner brand (haha). The group has had too many line-up changes to detail, but sometime in 2008 the original Canadian incarnation of the group disbanded, and the band was soon resurrected by a contingent of U.S. members. Fast forward another year and the Canadian Liferuiner has reportedly decided to regroup.more

Iron Maiden's Nicko McBrain reportedly "said there was about eight songs written so far so the band would probably need to come up with a few more new songs while recording. Said the material was a little different than past albums and they were taking their time with the recording schedule. New CD probably won't come out until 2011 however a good chance of some Maiden live shows over the summer." more

According to Deep Purple fan-site The Highway Star, Glenn Hughes (ex-Deep Purple, Trapeze, Black Sabbath) has broken the news on Twitter that he's been indeed working with producer Kevin Shirley (Led Zeppelin, Joe Bonamassa, Iron Maiden), and they are working on the remixes for the reissue of Deep Purple's 1975 album 'Come Taste The Band'. more

Testament To Play Full Album on Slayer/Megadeth Tour

Testament revealed to fans that they will have a special treat for them on the upcoming American Carnage tour with Slayer and Megadeth. In a new interview frontman Chuck Billy told KNAC.com:

Last night we just made a crucial decision, so you're going to be the first exclusive to hear. We decide last night that instead of putting - because we only have a 40-minute set to pick - instead of playing a medley of songs, we decided we're going to do the entire The Legacy record, start to finish, in its entirety for the show.

We did it last year, over in Holland, and then we did a show in London. And that show we did The Legacy and The New Order back to back, just like on the records, song after song. It was awesome. It was such an awesome deal. It turned out way better than we thought. It was killer. So, we were rehearsing for this tour, and at one point we were like, 'Man, we're not playing this and we're not playing that. Ah, shit. We only got 40 minutes; you can only play eight songs, so it's tough to pick eight songs. We're leaving so many good ones out.' And we were like, 'You know what? Since we've already toured a year and a half with PRIEST, we did our own headline, we did so much stuff out there, why don't we go out there and do something different? Vadar Guitarist Decapitated, So They Announce Touring Replacement

Vadar have a bit of a lineup change for their upcoming tour with Marduk. Their current guitarist has other commitments with Decapitated so they have recruited Esqarial's Marek Pająk to play with them on the upcoming outing. No word if he'll continue with them for the Killfest 2010 tour with Overkill, God Dethroned, Warbringer and Evile, which hits the States this Spring.

They dropped the news with this New Year's message: Happy New Year 2010: Peter (guitar, vocal) checks in! Hell-o all VaderManiax !!!!!! On behalf of Vader commando I would like to wish You extremely metal year 2010!!!! Let it be a fulfillment of your dreams and expectations!!!

I also take the occasion to briefly summarize the past year 2009...It was another hard-working year in our career. We played nearly 150 gigs!!! It was also a time of trial for the new line up of the band and... we passed the exam, just because "when there's a WILL, there's a WAY"!!! The band was well received by both European and US Fans (worth to mention that in the US we played nearly 40 gigs closing the year 2009). But of course, the most important for us is a new record deal with mighty Nuclear Blast and the new album "Necropolis". The album was released in the end of August (Europe) and September (the US) and immediately gained a huge number of supporters- both among diehard Vader's maniacs and also large amount of new Fans. Thank You for this!!! I'm so sorry to say that our "favorite" Internet instigators and trolls (I am talking here mainly to our Polish countrymen ...) didn't see band's collapse and downfall. Innovators in Music Only for Canada... For Now

Last month we told you about the world premiere of the new documentary series Innovators in Music featuring profiles on artists ranging from Sonic Youth to Steve Earle will world premiere on Bravo. We received an updated notice this morning that the airing will take place on Bravo Canada. Sorry for the confusion, word on possible airings in other countries should be coming in the next couple months, we'll keep you posted. For now here is the new announcement with more info:

Toronto's Original Spin Media, producers of the 39 part Beautiful Noise concert TV series and Solos: The Jazz Sessions, are pleased to announce Innovators In Music, a new series of documentary profiles on six dynamic musicians from a variety of genres, backgrounds, and disciplines. The Human Beinz Resurface With Christmas Song

You've heard their number one hit "Nobody But Me" on dozens of TV commercials and oldies radio stations across the globe, now the legenday Human Beinz have resurfaced with a timely Christmas song. Consisting of two parts, "Christmas Story" was written by Human Beinz band members Ting Marilin, Ed McCarthy and Sal Crisafi. Released on the Collectables label, along with the Human Beinz the CD 'Christmas In America' also features tracks by music icons Jay and the Americans, Blues Magoos, Bay City Rollers, The Rip Chords, Allessi Brothers and others

The Human Beinz had a Top Ten hit on the Billboard charts in January 1968 with "Nobody But Me". Along with countless TV commercials, the song is featured in the academy award winning film 'The Departed' and 'Kill Bill', as well as Disney's animated 'School's Out'. The group also wrote and performed 'McQ' for producer Richard Martin's documentary film 'Steve McQueen: An American Rebel'. The Human Beinz are featured in The Rock & Roll Hall of fame in The Music of Ohio exhibit.

The group was the second rock band to tour Japan in 1969 (The Beatles were the first) They had three number one hits in Japan, "Nobody But me", "Turn On Your Lovelight" and "Hold On Baby", and were the first to record a live album in concert at Budokan.The Human Beinz also have the distinction of being the first band to utilize a Pepsi bottle as an instrument in a hit record. Morakestra Going Hollywood in Support of Jim Ward Produced Album

We have seen time and time again that musical talent can run in families, but David and Will Mora take this phenomenon to a new level. The gifted musicians are twin brothers, born and raised in El Paso, Texas. Their musical abilities were recognized at an early age, and with the help and support of local musical legends, the duo went on to form Morakestra, a melodic alternative rock quartet with a captivating and inspired sound.

The talented twins will be bringing their live act to the stages of Southern California for two shows in the next month: January 15th at The Roxy Theatre, and Januar7 17th at The Viper Room.

With the release of its second album, "Witness to Connection," in June 2009, Morakestra took great strides in their musical maturity.
