History repeats itself as another guitarist is reportedly suing Third Eye Blind. A decade ago Kevin Cadogan sued the group after they parted company and now it looks like his replacement, Tony Fredianelli, is following suit. KillYourStereo.com reports that Fredianelli is suing Third Eye Blind "for apparently being denied songwriting credits and benefits that he allegedly was entitled to." They posted a rather lengthy statement that reportedly came from Fredianelli which said in part: "Currently I have been given no information on what Stephan and Brad's position are in respect to my status with the band. I have requested, as is my right, to a complete audit of all accounting related to our band, taken at my own expense to either prove or disprove the accounting accuracy. This is a commonplace thing in the corporate world. When you believe you have a dispute, verify through an audit. It's appearing more and more likely I will need to hire a lawyer to subpoena financial records and force this turnover instead of having it happen as it should by personal request. I have too much credible evidence that I must force it to happen. I have placed my trust in people who have let me down tremendously." "In part, I can tell you that I am not credited in 4 songs as a songwriter on Ursa Major. I also have been unable to collect any publishing money for the Red Star EP, publishing money for Ursa Major, nor I have to date received any money in record advances or record royalties OR my share of other endorsements of products currently being marketed, or about to be marketed. If those were all of my grievances that would be bad enough, but sadly there are more, and much more."

(Band Statement) Tuesday morning at about 8:00 am Reece got in a horrible Van accident on their way to Amarillo Texas, where they were scheduled to play with the Sherwood. They hit a patch of black ice, and the van rolled about 5 times. Justin & Kyle were ejected flying from the back of the van through the front wind-shied, they were airlifted to the closest hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Justin and Jimmy both suffered concussions while Kyle broke his back and sprained his leg. Luckily - everyone is alive... Sadly - This makes it very difficult for the us to continue on the sherwood tour. We are doing everything in our power to make sure we stay on this tour. It will take some time to get the insurance claim back to get the band a new vehicle and trailer. So we are asking for any help we can get - any donation will go towards keeping us on this tour is massively appreciated. Below in this post there is a donation link If you plan on coming out to the sherwood tour - come early so you can see and help support us through this!

Welcome to Singled Out! where we ask artists to tell us the inside story of their latest single. Today the members of Post Death Soundtrack tell us about their brand new song "Our Time Is Now" from their forthcoming album (but you can download this song for free right now!). We now turn it over to the band for the story:Kenneth Buck: For me OTIN represents a new beginning for the band. There was a rough batch shortly after Music as Weaponry was released. We had just begun work on our new album when circumstance intervened and we left unsure as to whether it would ever see completion. One day, after a few months of down time, Steve and I met up in a coffee shop to discuss the state of both our our friendship and the project. I was nervous to see whether or not the meeting would be fruitful. Fortunately, we managed to work out a lot of the kinks, and became reinvigorated about the project. We were ready to begin work again with a new approach, and OTIN was the first new track to surface. As Jon said, this is the first track to feature all four members of PDS, and I think it captures the new spirit of the band very well. Since it's creation the band has been stronger than ever, and we are excited for the future. Jon Ireson: Ken and Steve had layed down the basic structure for the tune back in Calgary so when it came to me in Vancouver, I could already see pretty clearly where the tune was heading. I immediately dug the juxtaposition of the calm resolve with the intrusive maniacal rants. So we set out to exaggerate the extremes, layering in multiple vocal lines and effects during the rants while shooting in some bell-like bass texture for the serene sections. The whole thing was tied together with Colin tracking the grand piano which made this song the first official record that all four members had been a part of. This song is layin down track so the locomotive can come barrelling through. Ya gotta put yourself in the driver's seat and say: "This is my f***ing ride and I'm going to plow through whatever is in my way". Shed all the confines that have been imposed on you and live for yourself. "Tear up the script and let the bastards sort it out" Steve Moore: "Our Time Is Now" was the first song written by the current version of Post Death Soundtrack as a 4-piece collective. I think it's suitable for a strong beginning because of some of the "carpe diem" themes covered in the song. It will be included on the upcoming Post Death Soundtrack full length coming in 2010. "Our Time Is Now" is about the balance between detachment and participation in the world, both with the physical and metaphysical; letting all your petty questions leave you - at that point all that's left to do is invoke and demand, to reclaim your own power. I personally have strived to rid myself of all the questions that have plagued me in my life, and take control. When you're invoking power, you have no questions. The rant at the end of the track was a free form stream of consciousness, a forceful play with our own ideas of reality. Play is important! I think the song ended up having a motivational feel and the message is intact. OTIN was recorded in 3 Studios; two home studios manned by Kenneth Buck and Jon Ireson, and the Vancouver studio Nimbus (Rage Against the Machine, Gallows, Mudvayne), where Colin Everall added some piano and production. It's great to be part of a band where everyone contributes, and everyone respects the ideas of others involved. Colin Everall - "Our Time is Now" was definitely a reinvigoration of the band, as geographic and interpersonal distancing had questioned the future of the project. The lyric and tone of the track re-energized our morale and creativity, and was an appropriate milestone for the next chapter of Post Death Soundtrack. We steered clear of live drums for the track, as we all felt sequenced drums much better fit the tone of the track. Jon, Steve & Kenny had laid the lionshare of instrumentation & vocals; all that left was my contribution. Sneaking into a local studio, we quickly guerrilla recorded the piano lines in a dark live room, using an off-limits grand piano." Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, you can download it for free along with other cool tracks

Hatesphere have announced that Jonathan "Joller" Albrechtsen is leaving the band. Jonathan will be temporarily replaced by Morten "Kruger" Madsen of the Danish Metal band Mevadio.Despite Jonathan΄s exit, Hatesphere have no intention of quitting and they will hit the American shores as planned 24th February to tour one month with their friends in The Black Dahlia Murder, Obscura and Augury. Tour plans for the UK and rest of Europe is already in the making ... In addition to the press release Mixen and Hatesphere would like to add a few words: "Today is one of those strange days where two equally strong feelings are tossing my insides around in a ponderous fist fight. One is gloomy and leaving me with a sensation that we're stuck knee-deep in a twitch. The other one is relieved, proud and stronger than ever. Today we part ways with Joller. Having a hard time combining full-time work, 2 bands and a general lack of excitement on his part, Joller came to the conclusion that his time in HateSphere was up. We debated for a couple of days there, but saw it fitting that we let him go because you can't be in this band if your heart is not in place. So, as sad as it may be, we're happy to send him on his way so we can all on move on towards bigger and better things, fully focused. Now, we've endured hardship before so I am not worried one bit. Also, the energy in the band is at an all-time high, especially since Mike joined us last year, and at this point, we're already in contact with several possible singers (with some really interesting people in the mix might I add!). Try-out's will commence immediately upon arrival from our forthcoming US tour, and shortly after that we will hit the studio to record something new and fresh."

Norwegian black metal titans 1349 have announced the title and release date of their new album. The album, entitled "Demonoir," will be released by Indie Recordings throughout Europe on April 26, and by Prosthetic Records in North America on April 27. For the band's fifth full-length release, 1349 decided to suck out the fiercest and most potent energies from every single member and surroundings, channeling it into songs that are pulsating with uncanny atmospheres, rawness and nerve shattering intensity. The whole process of getting the material on record was like one long, exhausting black magic summoning that could not be allowed to go wrong. "Demonoir" is without a shadow of a doubt 1349's darkest, most sinister and brutal work to date, and in this case it comes to mean that the band has gone from the utterly extreme to the genre-expanding and mind-boggling. Black Metal cannot, and will never be the same. "Demonoir" will be available in North America as a digipack CD and a limited edition 12" picture disc LP.

Dubbed "Norway's Greatest Live Band," Bigbang have returned stateside with Edendale, their tribute to the Silver Lake area of the city of Los Angeles. Front man and founder Ψystein Greni explains: "The area of Los Angeles today known as Echo Park/Silver Lake used to be called Edendale around the time when the silent movie industry took off. Charlie Chaplin's studio -now a storage place - is on my block, and Walt Disney's first film studio was across the street from the local Trader Joes. InEurope we tend to romanticize things and people from the past; here it's all about moving on to the next project. Ironically, as much as I wanted to get away from the stale museum-like atmosphere of Europe, I get here and start focusing on LA's fascinating past!" Their sound reflects that appreciation of the past, as the band is often garnering comparisons to the Allman Brothers, Tom Petty, Lynyrd Skynyrd and REM. Ψystein Greni (vocals); Olaf Olsen (drums); and Nikoli Eilertsen (bass) forged the band's distinctive sound based on Greni's love of punk & alternative rock. The guys will head on tour to celebrate their return to the states, after their North American debut, 2008's From Acid to Zen.
