Velvet Revolver Not Breaking Up

(Rock Radio) Don't worry, Duff McKagan is not planning to leave Velvet Revolver despite becoming a full-time member of Jane's Addiction. The former Guns n'Roses bassist replaced Eric Avery in Perry Farrell's band last month and they're currently writing songs for a new album ahead of planning a world tour.

And McKagan says he's in too creative a place to hang about waiting for Velvet Revolver to get back on the road, although he hopes it'll happen in a year or two.

He tells Rolling Stone: "I can't afford to just see if something's going to happen. These are my years of doing something. I'm probably at my peak creatively and I want to use it. I'm blessed to be able to get that chance now." - more on this story

Bret Michaels Remains Hospitalized

Poison frontman turned reality TV star, Bret Michaels, who is currently appearing on NBC's Celebrity Apprentice, remains in the hospital after an emergency appendectomy early Monday morning.

While on his current Roses and Thorns Tour which is set to visit over 200 cities, the legendary rock and roll front man was rushed to an undisclosed hospital in San Antonio on Sunday after suffering from severe stomach pains and what was originally thought to be a case of the stomach flu.

Upon further examination doctors insisted on performing a CAT scan which revealed that the 47 year old diabetic's appendix was nearly ready to burst, and rushed him into an early Monday morning (1:00am) surgery. It is now known that his appendix would have more than likely burst on stage that evening quite possibly resulting in death. - more on this story

Deftones Release New Video Online

Deftones will release their new album Diamond Eyes on May 4, 2010. But you can check out the first video now! The band premiered their brand new video for the album's title track, "Diamond Eyes," exclusively via MySpace.Com on April 13th, for 72 hours only.

The film was shot in Los Angeles and directed by Roboshobo (Metallica, Mastodon, B-52's, etc.). After that, the clip will be available for viewing on You Tube beginning April 17th.

Green Day Broadway Musical Cast Album Announced

Reprise Records will release The Original Broadway Cast Recording of American Idiot on April 20, 2010, the same day the show will open at the St. James Theatre in New York City.

The official album features the 24-member cast accompanied by Green Day, marking another incredible collaboration between the band and the musical.

Based on Green Day's chart-topping 2004 album American Idiot, the musical and the cast recording include every song from American Idiot, as well as several songs from the band's Grammy Award-winning current album 21st Century Breakdown. - more on this story

Classic Skinless Lineup Reuniting for One Show

They said it wouldn't happen. They were dead wrong. Legendary brutal death metal squadron Skinless will unite for a very special one-off performance June 19th at Northern Lights in Clifton Park, New York.

Featuring the classic lineup that helped rearrange the face of death metal with their soul-crushing Progression Towards Evil and Foreshadowing Our Demise full-lengths (1998 and 2001 respectively), vocalist Sherwood Webber, drummer Bob Beaulac, guitarist Noah Carpenter and bassist Joe Keyser are once again prepared to pummel.

Darkest Hour Find A New Home

Darkest Hour have signed with E1 Music in North America, joining artists such as Hatebreed, High On Fire, Overkill, among others. The band will enter the studio to record new material to be released early next year.

Fresh off the success of her five year run with the WWE and currently starring in the NBC hit show "Celebrity Apprentice," Maria Kanellis is embracing her virtues and vices by releasing her first EP "Sevin Sins" on Elytron Records and available now on iTunes.

Drawing upon her own "mortal sins," Maria combines her sexy and sultry lyrics with her sassy rock music. Ours frontman Jimmy Gnecco Announces Solo Album and Tour

Ours frontman, Jimmy Gnecco, will release his self-produced first solo effort, The Heart, July 20, 2010 on Bright Antenna through Warner Music Group's Independent Label Group. The first single, "Bring You Home," will go to radio June 22, 2010.

'The Heart' is graceful, personal, and at times hymnal. Songs such as "Mystery" and "Take A Chance" channel Gnecco's undeniable talent as a singer, songwriter, and musician. Gnecco performs every instrument heard on the album – guitar, bass, keyboards, and drums among others – but it's his exceptional and soulful voice that takes center stage. His perfectly controlled falsetto on "Rest Your Soul" establishes a potent sense of intimacy that he sustains for the record's duration.

Steve Vai Releases New Live Album

Steve Vai released a new live album, "Where The Other Wild Things Are," on April 13, 2010. The 12-track album is the second companion CD to be released alongside the 2009 concert film "Live In Minneapolis: Where The Wild Things Are," which is currently available on DVD and Blu-ray.

The DVD made a #4 debut on Billboard's Top Music DVD Chart, went Gold in both the USA and Canada and the track "Now We Run" was nominated for a 2010 Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental. This new album features songs from the DVD that were not previously released on the first CD.

Vai explains: "The original CD release for 'Where the Wild Things Are' consisted of songs from the concert DVD that had never been released in a live format before. It's a robust CD! The other songs that were performed at the concert but were not released on the CD were burning a hole in the hard drive and beckoning me for the light of day, so I thought, even though these songs have been released in live versions with other bands from the past, my new band with the two sweetly screaming violins gives them a whole new life. So we decided to release a second disc that contains all the tracks that were not on the first disc. Testament and Lamb Of God will co-headline "Pulp Summer Slam 10" in the Philippines, taking place this Saturday, April 17th, 2010 at the Amoranto Stadium in Quezon City, Manila.

The Futureheads Announce US Dates

The Futureheads will be hitting U.S. shores early this summer to play a set of shows in support of their upcoming release, The Chaos, set to drop June 1 on NYC based Dovecote Records.

The tour, which is the band's first US tour in more than four years, will kick off with a special record release show on June 1st in Brooklyn at The Music Hall of Williamsburg and take the band through major markets on the East Coast before it wraps in Chicago on June 12 at Lincoln Hall. Scissor Sisters Set June Release

Scissor Sisters return with their third album, Night Work, due out June 29th in the U.S. and on June 28th in all other countries.

The band, which has sold over seven million albums worldwide, recorded it in London, the Bahamas and its hometown of New York City, working for the first time with an outside producer, Stuart Price (The Killers, Madonna). This collaboration sees the group's relationship with Price come full circle - Scissor Sisters opened for his band Zoot Woman in 2004, while on their first UK tour.

Soundtrack To Real Book About Fake Band Features Real Deerhoof Song

Rules to Rock By is a new book by author and musician Josh Farrar for young adults about fictional teen band The Bungles who's founder Annabelle Cabrera is inspired by the very real band Deerhoof (who also make a fictional cameo at the beginning of the book!).

This story encourages kids to pursue music, and is accompanied by an equally amazing soundtrack with contributions by talented teen and adult musicians. It includes a cover of Swedish band LiLiPUT's track "Hitch Hike" by Deerhoof who were happy to participate and support kids in pursuing music.

Other tracks off the soundtrack feature the book's fictional band The Bungles, performing covers and original tracks by real teen band Blame the Patient.

Rock Band Live Tour

Cedar Fair, along with MTV Games will present the "Rock Band Live" tour and show at 10 of its parks across the United States and Canada beginning in May.

So what is "Rock Band, Live"? This unique show combines the high-energy game play action of the popular Rock Band video games with talented live singers from all over the country. Park guests will even have the opportunity to practice the Rock Band video game prior to each show for a chance to play the game (as the back-up band for the park performers) on stage in front of hundreds of adoring fans.

Guests can rock out to two summer-long shows at Cedar Point in Sandusky and Canada's Wonderland near Toronto. These shows will run June 5 – August 22 and May 29 – September 6, respectively. We Are The In Crowd Guaranteed to Disagree

We Are The In Crowd are excited to announce the details of their upcoming EP, Guaranteed to Disagree.

The debut Hopeless Records release contains 7 tracks recorded with producers Zack Odom and Kenneth Mount (Jimmy Eat World, All Time Low, Cartel) and is set for a June 8th release.

Though "Lights Out" is a worthy indication of what is to come on the band's forthcoming June seven-song EP, Guaranteed To Disagree, it's not the only trick the band has up its sleeve. Expect more up-tempo pop-rock, with alternating bittersweet/biting lyrics and unflappable, summery melodies that will leave you with a bit of nostalgia. Tay Jardine says the connection they felt in the studio translated to the record. "We want everyone to be blasting it in their cars with the windows down this summer! I'm really proud of the way it came out."
