MMP reports: In the history of extreme music there was always place for revolutionaries. Godgory is a band who decided to take metal to a totally new level, adapting the classic death and black metal sound into a completely new and original mixture. During their career the group released four full-length albums, with each marking another step in their musical evolution. "Way Beyond", Godgory's fourth and final work, is still considered as one of their finest offerings. This exclusive re-release brings back a truly exceptional metal album, dedicated to those who seek something different in the realm of heavy music
Released on October 2nd, 2001, the album contained eight tracks, two of which were new versions of old material (the title track from "Sea of Dreams" and "Tear It Down" from "Shadow's Dance"). The remaining compositions brought a powerful dose of epic, monumental music, by some reviewers described as a combination of In Flames, Tiamat and
Pink Floyd! The song structures went much further than typical death metal standards allow, introducing such surprising elements as the use of heart rate and breathing machines as instruments in "Final Journey". The band also focused more on keyboard arrangements the intro for "Another Day" is a great example of building up an intriguing atmosphere by adding keys into the composition. The heavier part of the album was represented by two fast-paced, guitar-driven tracks "Farewell" and "Holy War". The album is considered, next to "Resurrection", as Godgory's most successful release. It's a must-have for anyone who appreciates ambitious mixtures of death and black metal, delivered in a truly original fashion. Metal Mind Productions will re-release "Way Beyond" on 5th October in Europe and 1st December in USA (via MVD). New digipak edition is limited to 2000 copies. Digitally remastered using 24-Bit process on a golden disc.

PR reports: The Greening, an experimental psychedelic power-pop band from Northern California, will release their latest EP, (She's So) Electric, on September 29 (ZaiRecords). Marking the follow-up to their 2003 debut EP, After Shoal Parlor, features four blisteringly catchy tunes and an encoded animated video for the single, "Sunday Afternoon," directed by renowned local artist/animator Danny Ochoa. It was recorded at a private studio in Marin, and was produced and mixed by guitarist/vocalist Will Loving. The Greening's mission statement is to push pop music to new frontiers through their blend of accessible experimentation. Combining memorable hooks, strong melodies and cascading vocal harmonies, the band craft instantly memorable songs. However, the radio friendly nature of the songwriting disguises its underlying complexity. Surprise bridges and unexpected arrangements/time signatures unite to enhance the compositions in an integrated fashion.

Their garage-punk anthem "21" is included in the soundtrack of the film BIG FAN, an official selection of the 2009 Sundance Film Festival. PR reports: This fall, Kashmir will finally make their way into the United States by releasing two EPs, showcasing the band's two recent albums: Zitilites and No Balance Palace. The first EP, Petite Machine, will be released on September 22nd digitally and includes eight of some of the band's best work to date. Surfing the Warm Industry, the EP's focus track, was inspired by the time when early to mid 70s German rock by bands such as Kraftwerk, NEU and Can influenced British/US artists like David Bowie, Brian Eno and Iggy Pop. There is a hypnotic vibe to the song with an etheric psychedelic wash. Lyrically, Kasper was pretty angry with the music industry at the time. The result is an undeniable masterpiece wrapped up in irritated and magnetic bliss. "Our hope is that these EPs will introduce us a bit more in the United States," says Tunebjerg. "The EP's include a variety of songs that are inviting and communicative. We invite our listeners to dream their own landscapes when they listen."

PR reports: In just over six months, Boston's The New Collisions have gone from an unknown club band to one of the northeast's hottest acts. Fresh off a national tour with The B-52s and Blondie, they are gearing up for the release of their debut EP, "Invisible Embraces," on November 17. Greg Hawkes, the legendary keyboard player from The Cars, happened to catch one of the band's first shows. Over the spring, he worked with the band and with platinum-selling producer Anthony Resta (Duran Duran, Missing Persons), another early fan. Influences from the New Wave explosion of '77-'83, plus the early 60s of Phil Spector and Brian Wilson, meet a modern, dancey, intense sound. There are powerful female vocals, jagged analog synth, sweeping harmonies, catchy dance rhythms, and a message of lost youth in a world falling apart.

Though it is not heavy in the traditional sense, Pendulum seesaws between the warmth of hope and the sad reflection of discontent. Though the album is almost entirely instrumental, Ambarchi proves music feels the most powerful not in words but in sound.
