(PR) Puta Records, a burgeoning all-vinyl micro-label out of NYC, announces licensure of The Rats song "21" to the Big Fan film soundtrack. THE RATS, aka The Rats of New York have been rattling the club stages of Gotham since August 2005, receiving acclaim for a Rock n Roll style that is both bombastic and lyrical. Punk Magazine verifies the band as "a great Rock n Roll / Punk combo", while Denimzine - Sweden says "SPELAS MYCKET! (they liked the record a lot)". Their garage-punk anthem "21" is included in the soundtrack of the film BIG FAN, an official selection of the 2009 Sundance Film Festival. The film is currently receiving major distribution via First Independent Pictures, and is in theaters nationwide. Big Fan credits not only The Rats, but also a special thanks to the band's singer-songsmith Jake Rat.
