Bodom Singer Bummed About Cancelling Tour Due To Injury
Metal Underground reports: Children of Bodom front man Alexi Laiho has issued the following statement about being forced to cancel their remaining tour appearances:

"After the New York show (on May 9) I knew it was going to be over. During the 3rd song I started feeling like someone was stabbing me in my lungs, my heart and my ribs. That was the kind of pain that neither stubbornness, painkillers, nor alcohol could alleviate. I wanted to try to keep going but after seeing a second doctor in Philadelphia, I was basically told that I could f**k myself up for life if I don't stop playing. Against all recommendation, I have played and sang for the last 10 days in violent pain which has only made my condition worsen. So, I decided to listen to everyone around me, who were telling me the best thing to do would be to go home and get some proper rest and give my shoulder some time to heal.

"This was a hard decision for me and I feel bad about it. But it is the right thing to do if I want to keep making music. I apologize to our great fans for not being there for the remaining shows and I want to thank all the guys from the other bands" - more on this story

M is for More Marley For Kids
PR reports: B is for Bob, a collection of Bob Marley's most beloved songs re-imagined for kids, will be released June 23 by UMe/Island/Tuff Gong. The international musical legend's eldest son, four-time Grammy winner Ziggy Marley, executive produced the album, which bridges the gap between the timeless Bob Marley and a new generation of kids.

Bob Marley's music is known around the world for its powerful political and spiritual message that touches people of all ages. With children in mind, Ziggy has transformed some of his father's songs for B is for Bob. Eight tracks—"Three Little Birds," "Redemption Song," "Bend Down Low," "Jamming," "Small Axe," "Satisfy My Soul," "Stir It Up" and "High Tide or Low Tide"—remove certain instruments while adding other sounds creates a feeling of hearing these songs for the first time. Meanwhile, four of Bob Marley's other masterpieces are left untouched: "Could You Be Loved," "One Love/People Get Ready," "Lively Up Yourself" and "Wake Up and Live–Pt. 1."

"Me is a common sense man," Bob Marley once said. "That mean when me explain things me explain it in a very simple way, that mean if I explain it to a baby the baby will understand too, you know." Ziggy continues, "My father's music spans generations and with B is for Bob we give the youngest their very own Bob Marley record." - more on this story

Singled Out: Carbon 9
antiMusic reports: Welcome to Singled Out! where we ask artists to tell us the inside story of their latest single. Today Stacey Quinealty from Carbon 9 tells us about "My Friend" from their brand new album "The Bull". We now turn it over to for the story:

Carbon 9 is a production band that generally writes songs in the studio, but "My Friend" was one of the songs that was created by letting loose as a group in the band's rehearsal facility. As we constructed twenty eight songs for the new album, (only to allow ourselves room to cut down to the top fifteen), "My Friend" was one we just couldn't let go. In rehearsal I kept singing the words, "My friend, my friend", and I really wasn't certain what it meant. I am one of these people that believe in a purpose for everything and I contemplated the value of this lyric constantly reoccurring in my head. I was struggling with the value of a current relationship I was engaged in and it soon made sense. Living in Los Angeles and working in the entertainment industry, no different than any other industry, I soon came to the realization that the energy and aggression of this song was being driven by my personal emotions referencing this relationship. There are so many people that we encounter in our lives that actually bring value to our everyday experiences, but there are also a few that are in it for themselves. "My Friend" is about these people! The ones that call you their friend and actually make you think they care but really don't give a s**t about you.

"My Friend"is directly about that one person that constantly stabs you in the back yet we continue to keep them close within the circle. They generally do this to keep themselves feeling powerful and in complete control, while we gloat in the knowledge and wisdom that we know exactly what they are doing and therefore we are better than them. It may be a sadistic thought; to be better than another, but are all men really created equal? Some people only feel as if they are moving upwards by bringing others down and I made a personal decision not to engage in these relationships. You are the same as your environment and you must make decisions that correctly guide your life's path. The starts, stops, and dynamic changes in this track represent the ups and downs of any ongoing relationship. "My Friend," in a nutshell, is really asking the question, "Why do I feel that I need to keep this person in my private circle?" The answer is, "I don't!" There is nothing that they can bring to me in a positive manner that their negative energy will not override. There is no room in life to allow individuals to bring you down and must be avoided at all times. A real friend does not need to call you his / her close friend, for this is understood on both sides of the table. We must stand our ground and be the individual in which we were designed to be! This individual is the true self, the one that looks deep inside and lives his / her life to the fullest. As a collective society, we must avoid these negative people and come to the realization that this is their world, not mine. It is not the word, "friend" that has value, but the actions that each individual portrays on a daily basis that enhances your life. We are an evolving species, and to evolve means to move forward. It is time to let go, it is time to EVOLVE.

ev.o.lu.tion: the gradual development of something to a more complex form.

Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album - right here!
