PR reports: Columbus, Ohio-based classic-rock-meets-roots-punk outfit Two Cow Garage are celebrating the release of their fourth full-length, "Speaking In Cursive", on Suburban Home Records, and will tour throughout the summer and fall in support of the album.Comprised of Micah Schnabel (vocals, guitar), Shane Sweeney (bass, vocals), Chris Flint (guitar), Andy Schell (keyboards), and Cody Smith (drums), the outfit, which plays more than 200 shows a year (and has for the past six years), has made their darkest, yet most rewarding record to date, writing songs that deal with the problems and dilemmas of growing up, coming to terms with ones dreams versus reality, as well as songs about substance abuse, the wasting of youth (and the effects on your friends when youth is stolen too soon), navigating the troubled waters of relationships, and, of course, crushes-turned-heartbreak. With "Speaking in Cursive", Two Cow Garage has brought on a permanent keyboard player with Andy Schell, helping the band expand on their guitar-bass-drum assault, adding depth and richer melodies to the heartbreak-on-the-sleeve lyrical bite and rock attack that Two Cow Garage is already known for.

PR reports: Montreal's Neuraxis have announced they are parting ways with drummer Tommy Mckinnon and bassist Yan Thiel. Guitarist Rob Milley comments: "The time has come again for us to refresh the Neuraxis family as we are now seeking a new drummer and bassist. Nothing really juicy to tell. For Tommy, his priorities began to differ from ours while on the road until it became clear to us that he was no longer enjoying the touring lifestyle. He wishes to go back to school to complete his education. As for Yan its just been a case of him deciding to further his working career and he can no longer dedicate himself to the band. This has been going on for many years now and its time for us to have a full-time bassist on board. Both of them will continue playing in other musical projects. We thank our metal brothers for all the good times we had together and wish them the best for the future. Tommy and Yan will be fulfilling all our summer shows already booked ending with a fitting show in Montreal at the Club Soda on Sept 11th 2009. With that being said, we are excited to get some new blood in the band. For those interested in auditioning for the drummer and bassist positions , visit our myspace page, www.myspace.com/neuraxis to learn the following 3 songs: 'Dreaming the End,' 'Darkness Prevails' and 'Clarity' and make sure to read all the requirements before getting in touch with us. We ask you to video tape yourself playing these songs, add it to your Youtube page and send us the link by Myspace. Include 'Drummer' or 'Bassist' audition in the subject."

PR reports: The latest offering from Los Angeles punk band The Bronx, like its previous releases, encapsulates the ethos of their hometown. This time, however, the band takes a slightly different approach- by taking audiences on a border-bending journey of the senses and performing as Mariachi El Bronx. The band's self-titled full-length will be released on September 1st on Swami Records. The soulful, passionate musical influences of Mexico, achieved by such exotic elements as norteno, jorocho, wasteka, bolero and corridos, combine with the band's songwriting expertise to provide a sun-drenched summer soundtrack equally appropriate to Los Angeles as south of the border. This embodiment of The Bronx was originally conceived as a new twist on the electric-goes-acoustic performance. Citing the influence of various worldwide locales, as well as the addition of guitarron player Vincent Hidalgo (son of David Hidalgo of Los Lobos and Latin Playboys,) eventually Mariachi El Bronx was born. The record was produced by Jon Avilla, and features percussion by Alfredo Ortiz and orchestration by an unnamed but renowned string quartet. The band will perform in a variety of different ways, sometimes incorporating mariachi into their punk set, sometimes playing two nights at a venue performing each band respectively, often having one band open for the other.

Rock music used to be about breaking out of conformity. But now these acts (most of them millionaires in their own right) are in bed with the devil and to please the big money spenders, they do what most of us never thought they would- conform.
