Darker My Love Tour
PR reports: Armed with their revered sophomore LP, 2 (Dangerbird Records), Darker My Love are starting off the year declaring their allegiance to the road, this time with post-hardcore stalwarts These Arms Are Snakes.

Since the release of their critically acclaimed album, a frenzy of feedback-filled guitars, pummeling rhythms and indelible, inescapable melodies, touring has become as familiar as "Best of 2008" lists.

Following on the heels of "Two Ways Out," which spilled out of speakers nationwide, the second single "Blue Day" instantly bursts with huge guitars and infectious harmonies, showcasing Darker My Love's skill in seamlessly merging "a Sabbath stomp and shoe-gazey simmer" (Los Angeles Times. - don't hold this against the band, they are good). The track will impact Modern Rock radio February 16. - more on this story

Americana Rockers Carlon Sets Release
PR reports: Americana rock group, Carlon, the New Jersey quartet, will release their Ropeadope Records label debut, Johari Window, on March 17th, 2009.

Produced by Carlon, Ross Petersen (engineer for Bruce Springsteen, Muse, John Mayer) and executive produced by Dispatch bass player Pete Francis, the 12 tracks on Johari Window recently prompted The Aquarian Weekly to note, "Carlon has Americana folk rock fusion down to a science.

They'll have heavy drum beat, rocking guitar solos, and harsh singing in one song, and the next will sound like a Bob Dylan-meets-Tom Petty ballad…they sometimes incorporate whatever they're listening to at the moment…that may be why some of the vocals sound like Modest Mouse and The Hollies' Clarke." - more on this story

Annie Lennox Collection Coming Next Month
PR reports: The Annie Lennox Collection paints a vivid portrait in song of the most successful female British artist in pop music history. Available on February 17 from Arista Records, this 14-song retrospective brings together the acclaimed artist's finest solo work on a single disc for the first time, and includes a pair of new songs recorded exclusively for this release.

Spanning 15 years, The Annie Lennox Collection also available in a limited deluxe CD/DVD edition includes hits from her four top-selling solo albums Diva (1992), Medusa (1995), Bare (2003) and last year's highly praised Songs of Mass Destruction (2007). The timeless music selected for this collection uniquely reflects the essence of the singer's instantly recognizable brand of soul music on tracks like "Why," "Walking on Broken Glass" and "No More 'I Love You's'" — a song that earned Lennox one of her four Grammys.

"It seems like the time has come to release the Collection," Lennox says of her first best-of set. "I'm very proud of these songs. They are timeless and have become 'classics' in their own right." - more on this story

Assemble Head In Sunburst Sound
PR reports: Assemble Head In Sunburst Sound will return with their third LP and second for Tee Pee Records titled "When Sweet Sleep Returned" On April 7th.

San Francisco's Assemble Head in Sunburst Sound is a soundtrack for strange days and futures bright and bleak. But there is also a crooked thread that runs backward through every Assemble Head record the celestial trajectories of The Notorious Byrd Brothers and circa 70 Floyd; the dusty canyon stomps of Crazy Horse, slashing action pop of the savage young Who, Italian bastardizations of Lalo Schifrin cop movie scores, and the scuzz-bomb shrapnel of latter-day garage mongers like Mudhoney and Monoshock.

The band's third LP, When Sweet Sleep Returned, is propelled to some extent by that same glorious distillate. But it also finds the group speaking their own twisted tongue more assuredly than ever marrying hazy Saturday moods, interstellar sonics and wrecking-ball swing to song and harmony in poems for California, lovers, ghosts, the stars, and a world gone stark raving mad. - more on this story

Audiolife: New Life for Indie Musicians?
PR reports: As the economy continues to spiral downward, and cost efficiency takes center stage with every industry from finance to fashion, the young entrepreneurs behind Audiolife (www.Audiolife.com) could not have chosen a better climate to launch their groundbreaking technology and web-platform specifically designed to empower artists to make money.

Not only does the solution fill a long-standing void in the music industry, but it also provides artists the opportunity to design, promote and sell their music and merchandise online with no up-front costs or physical inventory.

"A lot of companies come through my office trying to sell me on their latest distribution technology and websites," remarked Kevin Lyman, President of 4Fini Inc. and Founder of the Vans Warped Tour. "But Audiolife clearly offers the best, most comprehensive solution for unsigned artists and bands that need a means to monetize and distribute their music and merchandise." - more on this story

. Bleeding Through - Declaration
Declaration marks another chapter by storied metalcore heavy hitters Bleeding Through. This album is like their previous full-length efforts in that it seems to be a mix of songs that are great and songs that are just mediocre. - Read the full Bleeding Through - Declaration review

. Bruce and Walmart
There's been a lot of static about a Walmart only Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band 'Greatest Hits' that was released earlier this month- specifically whether or not Springsteen should have allowed it to happen. - Read the full Bruce and Walmart review
