SPV reports: Derek Sherinian's new solo release "Molecular Heinosity" will be released on InsideOut Music on March 24th.There are few international keyboardists/composers who enjoy as brilliant a reputation as Derek Sherinian. He has played with acts such as Kiss, Billy Idol, and Alice Cooper and let's not forget he was a member of the prog metal powerhouse Dream Theater. His latest solo release the sixth to date is called "Molecular Heinosity" in which he presents along with haunting prog metal compositions, another series of illustrious guests, among them Zakk Wylde, Virgil Donati, and Tony Franklin. "Why scratch with the turkeys when you can soar with the Eagles," Sherinian laughs. "I hand pick the musicians for my albums like a casting agent picks actors for a movie they are each ideally suited for the role. I write material that is true to my influences and from the perspective of a listener. Once I come up with the structure or vibe of a song, I then try to imagine who the ultimate team of players would be for it. If I know in advance who will be on the track, I always try to compose with them in mind. I put tremendous effort into writing and arranging my music; it deserves only the world's best musicians to make it come alive."

PR reports: Shout Out Out Out Out get set to release the long-awaited follow-up to Not Saying/Just Saying, the album that announced the synth-soaked six piece's arrival on the scene. Reintegration Time is a dense step forward for Shout Out Out Out Out. Produced and engineered by front man Nik Kozub, the second full-length offering from Shout Out Out Out Out demonstrates the band's ongoing obsession and devotion to the world of analog synthesizers (no soft synths or "analog modeling" here, just pure voltage). This is indeed dance music, and this time around it is as friendly to the headphone listener as it is to the DJ. Along with their inherent electro, house, and acid techno influences, Shout Out Out Out Out put their massive analog synth collection and diverse tastes at the forefront with thick pulsing textures that give serious nods to pioneers like Tangerine Dream and Neu!. Lyrically, Reintegration Time continues with Shout Out Out Out Out's generally bleak world view, this time focusing on internal shortcomings and the disconnect of trying to maintain a balance between normalcy and the absurd.

PR reports: Ranging from a whispered hum to a cathartic holler and boiling over with his skillful wordsmithery, Kevin Devine & The Goddamn Band's Brother's Blood will be released April 28 via Favorite Gentlemen Recordings. The first for the label and the fifth album in Devine's impressive oeuvre, the LP furthers his adventures in exploring new stylistic territory and reflects the diverse talent and contributions of his musical handymen, The Goddamn Band. Testament to Devine's sonic ambidexterity, Brother's Blood showcases the Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter's versatility and range, one that has afforded him the unique privilege of capturing the hearts of fans of a variety of genres. Case in point, in the last two years he's played nearly 600 shows with a dizzying mix of artists ranging from Rachel Yamagata to She & Him and the All-American Rejects to Manchester Orchestra. That's in addition to his packed-out headline gigs and his guest appearances with friends Brand New and Okkervil River during their individual sets at Lollapalooza 2008. Just as much as Devine loves the road he has an equal fondness for the studio, and in the midst of all his globetrotting, he cooked up Brother's Blood. A confident mission statement about conscience, culture and personality, the album is resounding evidence of his impressive maturation as musician. Recorded at Williamsburg Headgear Studios with his Goddamn Band (Brian Bonz on keys & percussion, Chris Bracco on bass, Mike Skinner on drums, Russell Smith on guitar, and Mike Strandberg on guitar), Devine deliberately ceded more control of arrangement to his players, hoping to affect a more live, full-band feel for the first time on record.
