Steve Wynn Week: Day 2
antiMusic reports: There is very little new we can say by way of introduction for Steve Wynn. As an artist Steve in many ways is his generation's answer to Bob Dylan, in not only style but with his diversity. Steve just released his new album 'Crossing Dragon Bridge' a couple weeks ago and this week we are honored to have Steve tell us a little bit about a few of his favorite songs from the album. Here he is with today's song:

When We Talk About Forever: I married my long-time girlfriend (and drummer) Linda Pitmon last May. It's funny-any given record or tour takes a lot of planning and thought but putting together this wedding was one of the most time-intensive and testing experiences of my life. And it was a similar experience. We wanted to be creative, interesting, fun, unique and something that reflected us rather than generic things that had come before. We were trying to find a good wedding song for the traditional first dance and were stumped. Maybe someone can correct me but we found there just weren't that many great, interesting wedding songs out there or at least none that spoke to us.

Finally, after one more night of searching, I said "I'm just going to write one myself." I mean, it is my day job, after all. This was the song and it made for a great first dance even though we had to learn a few waltz steps. And appropriately, the recording of this song didn't really take off until Linda added her drums and vocals.

If you haven't already picked up this CD then do yourself a favor and grab a listen to a few of the songs off of this CD and learn more about Steve Wynn - right here!

antiMusic reports: Metallica may head the 2009 class for Yawn Weiner's Crock and Roll Hall of Fame: the Rolling Stone publisher's "pat ourselves on the back" museum in Cleveland that has inducted a rapper like Grandmaster Flash and a pop singer like Madonna ahead of a true rock legend like Jeff Beck.

Metallica is one of nine nominees that the hand picked panel will vote on. Only five will make the cut. The metal masters are joined by the Stooges, Jeff Beck, Chic, Wanda Jackson, Little Anthony and the Imperials, War, Run-D.M.C., and Bobby Womack.

The induction ceremony will take place on April 4th at Cleveland's Public Hall - more on this story

McCartney has been threatened by Muslim extremists if he plays a concert in Israel to celebrate Israel's 60th birthday. "Regardless that Paul and I have our obvious social, cultural, and culinary differences outside of music, I will not bend or waiver to voodoo religious whackjobs and neither should Paul," exclaimed Nugent. more

Warrior Soul, the band fronted by legendary singer Kory Clarke, who recently announced that it has selected "Chinese Democracy" — the name of the perennially delayed new Guns N' Roses LP — as the title of its new album, has issued the following update: "We are making the first copies of 'Chinese Democracy' available to pre-order. We want Warrior Soul fans who are unable to attend our fall/winter shows in the U.S/U.K to have a chance to buy 'Chinese Democracy' before this limited edition record sells out" more Wonder how long it will be before they get a love letter from Axl's lawyers.

Revisit The Dragon
MMP reports: Metal Mind Productions presents remastered editions of two albums by the pioneers of death metal in Poland: Dragon. "Horde Of Gog" from 1988 and "Sacrifice" from 1991 will be available again in a new digipak edition, digitally remastered using 24-bit process, each limited to numerated 2000 copies.

"Horde Of Gog" - the debut full-length album was originally released in 1988. Instead of a "romantic" intro, typical for all metal albums at that time, the album started off with a hurricane of Bomba's drums, out of which the raging tempo of "Kapłani Zdrady" emerged. This was followed by a true thrash metal frenzy, interrupted only by a subtle guitar miniature called "Cervezza", which featured a brilliant guitar solo by Pająk. New edition of the album includes 9 bonus tracks taken from the Polish language version of the LP.

Singled Out: Jim Boggia
antiMusic reports: Welcome to a special edition of Singled Out! Today instead of just looking at a single song, Jim Boggia shares quick stories about all of the songs on his new album "Misadventures in Stereo." We'll let Jim tell you why we couldn't just single out one song:

"I made this to be listened to like an album. That means sitting down and taking in all of either side one or side two." In other words, each side has a unified concept. So here Jim breaks it down for us. Side One: My Misadventures:

Johnnie's Going Down: It's always fun to watch the mighty fall, particularly when they don't see it coming. The instrumental section tries to bring back some of that Tijuana Brass sound that accompanied so many of our parent's "key parties" in basement dens across early '70s America.
