(antiMusic) There is very little new we can say by way of introduction for Steve Wynn. As an artist Steve in many ways is his generation's answer to Bob Dylan, in not only style but with his diversity. Steve just released his new album 'Crossing Dragon Bridge' a couple weeks ago and this week we are honored to have Steve tell us a little bit about a few of his favorite songs from the album. Here he is with today's song: When We Talk About Forever: I married my long-time girlfriend (and drummer) Linda Pitmon last May. It's funny-any given record or tour takes a lot of planning and thought but putting together this wedding was one of the most time-intensive and testing experiences of my life. And it was a similar experience. We wanted to be creative, interesting, fun, unique and something that reflected us rather than generic things that had come before. We were trying to find a good wedding song for the traditional first dance and were stumped. Maybe someone can correct me but we found there just weren't that many great, interesting wedding songs out there or at least none that spoke to us.
Finally, after one more night of searching, I said "I'm just going to write one myself." I mean, it is my day job, after all. This was the song and it made for a great first dance even though we had to learn a few waltz steps. And appropriately, the recording of this song didn't really take off until Linda added her drums and vocals.
