Blabbermouth reports: Nirvana's former manager says in his upcoming memoir that the arrival of Courtney Love in late frontman Kurt Cobain's life changed the band forever, according to an excerpt posted at Spinner.com. In his book, "Bumping Into Geniuses: My Life Inside the Rock and Roll Business", former record label exec and artist manager Danny Goldberg writes, "Courtney's very presence was a metaphor for the end of one era in the band's life and the beginning of another," adding that Love became Cobain's "mouthpiece" shortly after the two became a couple. Goldberg says he was initially "charmed" by Love, but soon became aware that she had "numerous personae she could call up at will, and this would be the last time I would ever see Courtney as an underdog."

antiMusic reports: Metallica frontman James Hetfield recently did an interview with the German language television network 3SAT where they covered many topics. One subject brought up during the interview was American politics and the use of a Metallica song to interrogate suspected terrorist. Hetfield expresses mixed feelings, but ultimately said that Metallica doesn't want to get mixed in with politics. Here is part of the Blabbermouth report following by a link to the full interview: "Part of me is proud is because they chose Metallica," Hetfield said about the reports that the band's song "Enter Sandman" was used during the interrogation of Mohammed al-Qahtani known as the 20th [9/11] hijacker and that listening to the track brought al-Qahtani to tears "because he thought he was hearing the sound of Satan." James added, "It's strong; it's music that's powerful. It represents something that they don't like maybe freedom, aggression
I don't know
freedom of speech. And then part of me is kind of bummed about it that people worry about us being attached to some political statement because of that. We've got nothing to do with this and we're trying to be as apolitical as possible, 'cause I think politics and music, at least for us, don't mix. It separates people, [and] we wanna bring people together. So, so be it. I can't say 'Stop.' I can't say 'Do it.' It is just a thing it's not good or bad."

Blabbermouth reports: Page has dismissed speculation that his recent jam sessions with bassist John Paul Jones and drummer Jason Bonham would lead to a Zeppelin reunion tour. Speaking at a Toronto film festival press conference where he was promoting the documentary film "It Might Get Loud", Page said, "We're not actually really recording. We played at the O2 (concert in London last year). That was our reunion. It's nothing as monumental as what people are speculating and projecting." He added, "If you're going to do a reunion, you need four members," referring to lead singer Robert Plant's commitment to touring with U.S. country singer Alison Krauss.

PR reports: Equal Vision Records is proud to welcome Davenport Cabinet to its roster. The soulful, new wave meets southern-rock project of Travis Stever (Coheed And Cambria) is set to release Nostalgia In Stereo on October 14th. The 11-track collection was written and recorded in between Stever's limited time off from Coheed And Cambria at his home in upstate New York, and mixed by Mike Major (Sparta, At The Drive-In). The name DAVENPORT CABINET comes from two American magicians - the Davenport brothers - from the late 1800's. The Davenports' most famous presentation was known as the box illusion. The trick would start with the brothers tied up and closed inside a large cabinet containing numerous musical instruments. Once the cabinet was closed, the instruments would begin to make sounds as if they were being played by the brothers. Upon opening the cabinet, the brothers were found tied in the same positions in which they had started the illusion. Those who witnessed the act were made to believe that the magicians had channeled spirits to play the instruments. Stever explains, "I have a little room in my house where I record all of my ideas - whether it's for Coheed And Cambria or the songs you hear on Nostalgia In Stereo. Sometimes when no one is in there, my wife, many of our guests, and I hear footsteps and other random noises. You can hear the strings vibrate as if someone was trying to play one of the instruments." He admits,"It is probably just the house settling but it still just made me think - 'maybe I have my very own Davenport Cabinet'."

MMP reports: Metal Mind Productions presents re-release of the self-titled debut LP by the most respected industrial band from France: Treponem Pal. "Treponem Pal" will be available on 22nd September 2008 in Europe and 28th October 2008 in USA (via MVD). New edition is digitally remastered using 24-Bit process on golden disc and limited to 2000 copies. The band's story begins in 1986, in a time when pop glitz or American glam metal reigned the European music scene. Back then industrial metal was just starting to grow, however the genre's turning point was close - groups such as Skinny Puppy and Front 242 begun aggressively marking their presence on the scene. You might say that Treponem Pal emerged in a time that was groundbreaking for the genre - for it was 1988 when Ministry's "Land of Rape and Honey" was released.

All the drama that I experienced with getting drunk and doing drugs all the time seemed interesting and amusing to write about. That lifestyle is total insanity and I'm just glad I'm not dead and I was able to write a song like "Flush." We know you are anxious to hear what Head's new music sounds like, so you can grab previews from "Save Me From Myself," learn more about the album and Head's new autobiography and more right
