PR reports: British rockers Beat Union's current single is titled "Can't Stop The Radio." The band also can't stop touring despite a curveball thrown their way this past weekend in Canada. While en route to launch their North American tour, the band was stranded in Edmonton after their van and trailer were stolen there. Both were recovered--albeit in bad shape--after a police chase early yesterdayfter subsequently being forced to cancel a handful of local dates, BEAT UNION are pleased to announce they'll start back up with Bedouin Soundclash this Friday, September 5 in Sudbury, Ontario. Also on tap: BEAT UNION will perform a one-off New York show with The Loved Ones September 14 at the Knitting Factory before joining Flogging Molly on their U.S. trek September 15 in Sayreville at the Starland Ballroom. Next up, the four-piece will team-up with Horrorpops for an October U.S. run before heading back overseas for a UK tour with Less Than Jake.

PR reports: The third full-length from Oakland deathcore crew All Shall Perish is currently streaming in its entirety on the band's Myspace page. The album will be available to preview until September 4th, and won't be let loose for purchase in the States until September 16th, so get your fill now while you can. Produced by longtime-collaborator Zack Ohren (Decrepit Birth, Light This City), Awaken The Dreamers makes good on the promise of 2006's The Price of Existence, bolstering the technical grind, death, and metalcore elements of the band's breakthrough with a further developed sense of songcraft. See for yourself over on MTV's Headbangers Ball, where there are two previews of behind the scenes footage due to be included on a companion Awaken The Dreamers DVD. And hear for yourself at Myspace [we assume their PR was a little late in giving us this news but it may still be up by the time you

PR reports: Warship announces a November 4, 2008 release date for their debut disc, Supply and Depend (Vagrant). The New York-based duo of Francis Mark (vocals, drums) and Rob Lauritsen (guitar, bass) wrote the 10 tracks featured on Supply and Depend earlier this year and recorded with producer Andrew Schneider (Pelican, Made Out Of Babies) over the summer. "Even though Rob and I were in a band together for the past 3 years this is the first time we got to write together and it was explosive," says Mark. "Things came together so quickly. It was like Rob had a vault of riffs he was waiting to open. I don't know what the future holds for us but I sure am enjoying myself right now and I am grateful to be able to share these songs with people. "

Dead Publicist reports: Good things come to those who wait! First, it took 30 years to produce this ultra-cool 2CD/DVD set from the Dead's legendary September 1978 run at the Sound & Light Theater, outside Cairo, nestled in the dunes just a short mummy-walk from the Great Pyramid and the mysterious Sphinx. Then, Dead Heads had to endure the long, restless weeks between the announcement of the release and when they could actually order it. Well, ring them bells, because the wait is over! Dead.net is NOW accepting preorders for this beautiful and historic package, Rocking the Cradle: Grateful Dead, Egypt 1978, which includes two exceptional music CDs and a DVD with over 95 minutes of concert footage from the Egypt shows (plus an impressionistic "Vacation Tapes" mini-documentary that shows the band and Dead family at play). What's more, all preorders placed through dead.net by the official release date, September 30, will receive an exclusive bonus CD of still more great material from the Egypt gigs. Rocking the Cradle will be available everywhere on September 30, but the bonus disc will be exclusively available with dead.net preorders.Much has been written about this storied adventure: About the band's long-standing desire to play in "places of power," as Phil put it years ago… The incredible logistical gymnastics necessary to get permission for this strangest of American rock bands to bring their peculiar alchemy to the cradle of the ancient world… The huge, scattered caravan of crazies that descended on Cairo from the U.S. and Europe, drawn to the desert by some irresistible force… The sheer magnitude of shipping in tons of sound equipment, setting up in 110-degree heat, maxing out the local power grid, trying to turn the King's Chamber in the Great Pyramid into an echo chamber (alas, Osiris would have none of that!)… The wondrous interplay at each of the three concerts between Nubian drummers and singers and the Grateful Dead… The miraculous final show, during a total lunar eclipse… The synchronicity of that last show and the signing of a peace treaty between Egypt and Israel… Magical horse and camel rides under the desert moon…Trips up and down the Nile… High adventure at every turn!

PR reports: Platinum-selling #1 R&B artist Avant takes his work seriously, which is why - in the midst of the most politically-charged year in recent memory, even as his debut single on Capitol Records, "When It Hurts" began to bullet its way inside the Top 40 on the BDS and Mediabase Urban charts - he accepted a mission to bring his exciting live show halfway across the globe to perform for U.S. troops at a number of military bases in Iraq.Back home from the life-changing experience overseas (which was successfully carried out by AKA Productions), he is now dedicating the weeks and months ahead to the October 28th release of AVANT, his self-titled Capitol debut album. The album's first single, "When It Hurts" was produced by Anonymous (aka Eric Dawkins) and Antonio Dixon (known for his work with Fantasia). Other standout tracks include "Attention" (a collaboration with old friend Snoop Dogg), and an understated, languid rendition of Christopher Cross's multiple Grammy winning "Sailing" from 1980, one of Avant's favorite songs while growing up. The video for "When It Hurts" was shot two weeks ago by veteran director Bille Woodruff, whose most recent credits include "Feeling You" (3LW & Jermaine Dupri), "Just Came Here To Chill" (Isley Brothers), "Take Me As I Am" (Mary J. Blige), and "Where You At" (Joe), to name a few. Premiere date for the video will be announced shortly. Meanwhile, "When It Hurts" can be heard in its entirety

By judging the 3-hour 35-minute, 31-song performance for 70,000, one would assume this was one for the ages. Sadly one can't judge a show by what's on paper. This was the longest show I had ever seen Springsteen perform and also one of the most misguided and poorly executed as well.

Grave Human Genuine has its burdensome share of stupidity, but I guess that is a prophecy burning bright when bands like Dark Suns attempt too much tap-dancing material instead of just writing good music.
