Derek Trucks Discusses Allman Brothers Band 40th Anniversary
antiMusic reports: Ross Cat recently caught up with Derek Trucks for a discussion about a variety of topics. Here is just a little bit of that interview: Ross CAT- 2009 will mark the 40th anniversary of the Allman Brothers Band, it will also mark the 10th anniversary since you became a permanent member of the legendary brotherhood. Reports are already surfacing about this year's Beacon Theatre Run; there's lots of speculation about this already paramount event becoming an epic musical moment. Tell us about your feelings in sharing in this momentous milestone with the Allman Brothers Band

D.T.-There certainly is a lot of synchronicity within the groups history and I'm honored to have been able to share in a part of it. There are lots of ideas kickin' around and being set into motion as we speak. If even a fraction of what's being talked about comes together it could be a pretty monumental tour for sure.

We are most definitely looking forward to returning to the Beacon after missing last spring, that's going to be a lot of fun. One of the ideas is to have some of the musicians sit in with us that played with Duane Allman over the years, people that influenced him and people that he influenced.

The band is reaching out to artists like Eric Clapton, Aretha Franklin and Boz Scaggs, obviously scheduling will play a part in it but even if half the musicians can share in the event it should be pretty amazing. - Read the full interview at bestofwny.com

Soulja Boy Tell'em follows this mega success with the highly anticipated iSouljaboytellem, produced by Soulja Boy Tell'em, with assistance from super-producer Mr. Collipark (Young Jeezy, Yin Yang Twins, Pitbull) and Polow Da Don (Ludacris, Fergie, Jamie Foxx, Ciara). Raul Malo Fans Will Get Lucky Next March
PR reports: Raul Malo's Fantasy Records label debut album, Lucky One, finds him fully shedding his musical shackles. "I have been fighting my whole life against people who want to pigeonhole music. Following two albums of covers, Lucky One is Malo's first album original material in seven years. The CD will hit the streets on March 3rd, fronted by the lead single "Hello Again."

Rolling Stone added, "Raul Malo has a voice on par with the best of 'em: Sinatra, George Jones and Orbison." And The Wall Street Journal opined: "Malo's superb voice is big and melodic with a natural vibrato. Exquisite."

Colin Armstrong Sets Release
PR reports: After to passing up a developmental deal with Hollywood Records, award-winning Singer/songwriter Colin Armstrong has completed his debut full-length album "Lost and Anonymous," officially slated for release on January 13, 2009.

Produced and mixed by Mikal Reid (Mick Jagger, Ben Harper, Aerosmith, Wang Chung), the album will be distributed online via iTunes, and available for purchase through his label's website Rithmetic Records.

Often compared to John Mayer, Tom Petty, and Peter Gabriel, Armstrong's sound has been described as reminiscent of George Martin's arrangements with strings and textural guitars- a bit British meets old school with contemporary and clever lyrics."I wanted to write something about the people and experiences I have had as I navigated my way through the business of music in Los Angeles, or 'Lost Angels.'
