Ready Fire Aim Week: Day 3 "I Would for You"
antiMusic reports: Ready Fire Aim's new album "This Changes Nothing" hits stores this week. To celebrate the release we asked front man Sage Rader to give us the inside track on some of his favorite songs from the album.

Here is Sage with today's song "I Would for You": One of the greatest love songs ever written---early Jane's---proves they had the chemistry from the start. I grew up putting this track on mixtapes for girls so to get to actually sing it was ridiculous.

Shaun made me sing it like 6 times through in a row and then kept the take where my voice was starting to crack a bit. Guess he was looking for that edge on the vocal. We recorded and finished producing the track in a 10 hour day. Shaun went from having never even having heard the track, which is even more amazing—just did his own thing.

Xzibit's Baby Dies
antiMusic reports: Tragedy hit rapper Xzibit (Alvin Nathaniel Joiner) on Monday when his new born baby died. He posted the following message to fans on his website: "As you all know I told shared with you the announcement of my newborn son Xavier Kingston Joiner on may 15th and also informed you that he was born prematurely. well this week was extremely difficult for him because his lungs were not strong enough to handle regular oxygen on his own.

"Xavier passed away this morning at 3:30am and I must tell you this, It is unnatural for a parent to bury a child. I am telling you this because of the same reason I tell you when I'm having great times, life is too short to be fake.

"Hold on to your kids if you have them, protect them and show them you love them everyday you wake up and see them, them, don't take a second you get to hug them teach them and care for them for granted. You can have all the material wealth in the universe but it is NOTHING compared to having your family. I am thankful for all of my blessings and I'm not one to question God's perfect plan, so I leave you with great love and thanks for the love that was sent earlier on my pervious blog to my son. Of course I need to take some time and handle my loss, STAY FOCUSED PEOPLE. Its not promised to any of us."

On behalf of everyone at antiMusic we too offer our heart felt condolences. Fans can post messages to Xzibit - on his official forum.

System of a Down Sideband Set Release
HER reports: Scars on Broadway, the long-awaited collaboration between guitarist-frontman Daron Malakian and drummer John Dolmayan, both best known for their work in the multi-Platinum-selling, Grammy-winning band System of a Down, has signed with Interscope Records and will see their self-titled debut released on July 29.

With Malakian sitting in the Scars' producer chair, he and Dolmayan entered the studio last September, recorded nearly two-dozen songs for the album, and then whittled down the final track listing to 14 songs.

Many of the Scars on Broadway songs had their genesis years ago. "I like to let my songs marinate over time, that helps determine which ones speak to me the loudest," explained Malakian. Malakian, who penned or co-penned SOAD classics such as "Aerials," "Chop Suey!," "Hypnotize," and "B.Y.O.B.", wrote the Scars songs mostly on keyboards and a drum machine. On the new scars material Malakian injects more rock than metal, citing influences from Iggy Pop to David Bowie to Neil Young. - more on this story

The Cribs Lose Half Their Friends
antiMusic reports: The Cribs are asking fans to help them reclaim the legion of friends they just lost. Turns out the band's Myspace was hacked and they lost half of their "friends" in the process. The band is asking their remaining friends to re-post a bulletin on their Myspace account to let their friends know about the hacking and advising them to "re-add" the Cribs to their Myspace, so the band can get their friends count back up.

Here is their bulletin: The Cribs Myspace was hacked, though it has now been cured but with consequence. A major problem has occurred in the process. Whilst the myspace was hacked into; thousands of friends were lost, leaving less than half remaining.

As posting a bulletin from The Cribs myspace only posts to existing friends, this will not help, BUT there is something you can do to help... To help The Cribs retrieve their friends, and let people know to re add, please post this bulletin to all your friends. - The Cribs Myspace

My Chemical Suicide Denial
antiMusic reports: My Chemical Romance have responded to claims that their music somehow inspired a 13 year-old UK girl to commit suicide. Earlier this month an inquest was held where the girl's parents and coroner Roger Sykes testified that the girl, Hannah Bond, was influenced by her love of emo music, specifically My Chemical Romance.

It was also revealed that the girl had a history of self-harm, her father said that Bond had hurt herself before and claimed that it was an emo initiation ceremony. The coroner Sykes testified, "the emo overtones concerning death and associating it with glamour I find very disturbing." The girl reportedly told online friends of her plans to hang herself and live on in the afterlife as a member of "The Black Parade" - the title of a My Chemical Romance album.

The band has responded to this story with this statement: "We have recently learned of the suicide and tragic loss of Hannah Bond. We'd like to send our condolences to her family during this time of mourning. Our hearts and thoughts are with them. My Chemical Romance are and always have been vocally anti-violence and anti-suicide. As a band, we have always made it one of our missions through our actions to provide comfort, support, and solace to our fans. - the rest of their statement plus some commentary about these charges and some real stats on teen suicide

Music Causes Violence? University Studies Cause Stupidity!
antiMusic reports: Yippy! Another useless university study has been conducted so that professors can justify themselves! Let's forget the fact that people in bars that drink too much will become violent if the circumstances are ripe for it. But somehow we can blame this all on music!

Blabbermouth has the story: Times Online reports that researchers from Glasgow University, who monitored the playlists and outbreaks of fighting at eight pubs and bars in Glasgow city centre, found that loud rock and rap music encouraged customers to drink more, increasing loutish behaviour that often spilt over into violence. The pounding rhythms also made it difficult for customers to hear one another, causing misunderstandings.

Rock music such as AC/DC's "Highway to Hell" and The Rolling Stones' "Brown Sugar" was found to encourage macho posturing and aggressive behavior among male customers. However, researchers also discovered that Sonny And Cher's "I Got You Babe" and Robbie Williams's hits could be used to defuse potential disputes. Easy listening and "slushy" romantic songs were sometimes used to deter gangs of young men from entering pubs. [The key word there is "entering". But what happens if they are already in the pub and the owners turned on Sonny and Cher? You would think that would turn them violent in a hurry.] - more on this story
